  1. Nah I don't agree with that. The truth is, fans don't really know how to prepare themselves for a rebuild. Complete teardowns like this are relatively new since the Astros success. Sure, we've already been through one with the Sox, but that doesn't mean we are now experts in what to expect. Besides, there is no amount of "preparing" that would make setting the loss record not a big deal.
  2. I truly don't think JR cares one way or another. Getz can show him a picture of a giraffe and he'd have the same reaction.
  3. Eh it'll definitely age poorly, but most long term contracts do. They badly needed him to stay, and now they have an elite hitter for I'd say the first half of that contract. I do think it would look a lot better if the Jays were in a better place competitively for the next several years, but IMO they're clearly at the bottom of a stacked division for awhile.
  4. Still tradeable, but it’ll just be a natural bad return instead of a Getz getting fleeced bad return.
  5. Tauchman at least looks like he knows what he’s doing at the plate, which is refreshing in a lineup full of not that.
  6. I know it’s not true but it feels like every loss has been either 6-1 or 7-2. There will be soooooo many of these.
  7. This offense is just so painful to watch. Especially when Robert is being his worst self.
  8. Nice to see more color in these round twos. For the Sox, I’d definitely prefer the dark one from the Reddit post, but I think the red can grow on me. Curious if the pants would be red or black. I like the pop of the Rockies one even though the font is terrible. I just don’t get the lack of creativity in general with most of the city connects.
  9. I do too, just kinda odd that the guy whose job is literally to talk to thousands of people wouldn't be able to do it more clearly or succinctly.
  10. Eh Benetti doesn't strike me as the schadenfreude type.
  11. Woof. Just went I thought he was getting a little better by getting out of the way of the game. Come on man.
  12. Sure I think there's definitely something to the new manager bounce, but ultimately the lack of talent on the roster should keep them as a bottom 3 team.
  13. Yeah I don’t think we really learned anything about the team in these first few games. Even if they did this against better teams, that’s just baseball. It wouldn’t change my opinion that they’ll still be one of the three worst teams in the league. THAT BEING SAID, I’m not here to rain on any parades. If they can be a young, fun, bad team this year, I think that’s a huge step forward and a massive improvement over whatever the past couple years have been. So far, so good.
  14. Perez Burke Cannon Martin > Buehrle Contreras Garcia Garland
  15. Something I’ve noticed on the broadcasts early on is Schriffen has clearly toned it down. But it’s almost to the point where he’s overly restrained. Not really a criticism because I think it’s cool he’s actively trying to get better, but just found it interesting.
  16. Seeing the twins miserable never gets old.
  17. Embarrassing for who? If you're the one that finds it embarrassing, then yeah, it does bother you.
  18. Yeah, that's why the Casas to Seattle for a SP chatter in the offseason was so interesting. Seemed like a great fit for both teams on paper.
  19. I’m sorry this bothers you so much, but don’t worry, being sensitive is part of being human. Proud of both you and Sasaki for your willingness to be vulnerable.
  20. I didn’t realize he’s already 28. I think he’ll still be an elite hitter for at least half that contract, but he’s already a full time DH with no real path back to the field, so he pretty much has to be an elite bat.
