Fully agree. But at the same time, at what point do you prioritize getting at bats for the guys you have vs the sign and flip guys? If they (hard emphasis on they) really want to find out if Fletcher, DeLoach, etc are in their future plans, at some point they have to commit to giving them regular at bats. Which, yeah, truly riveting stuff. Can you feel the excitement in the air?

I’m not following. All I’m saying is it’s kind of wild to assume that starting off with an already low asking price will result in a quicker resolution and/or higher return. I think you’re underestimating Getz’s ability to start off with an already low asking price and still end up with a return even less than that.

I’m not sure if this says more about Vaughn or the state of the roster, but either way I’m lol’ing that Vaughn has a legitimate shot at either: 1. Being non-tendered by the worst team of all time 2. Being the Sox most productive hitter in 2025

It’s such a bummer to read something like this. The Sox are bad because Jerry Reinsdorf fucking sucks at his job and he deserves every bit of failure that comes with it. The only unlucky ones in this scenario are the fans. They don’t deserve this.

Two things about the bolded: I think you're overlooking how easy it can be to miss the playoffs with Skubal and Tyler Greene and a bunch of replacement level guys. That's not really a recipe for success. Especially if you don't have a historically bad team in your division to help pad your record. Who is the Bobby Witt Jr equivalent for the Sox in this scenario? You know, the perennial MVP candidate and consensus top 5 player in the game type guy who is also still a few years away from entering his prime. Edit: I just realized by Tyler Greene, you probably meant Riley Greene. Point still stands.
