  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) Sometime when I head to the library in a bit I'm going to go on baseball-reference and see how many runs the Sox have averaged since August of 2006. I'd say it's gotta be under 4.5. .259/.328/.428 since 8/01/06
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 01:21 PM) So where does this lineup rank on the worst Sox lineup's over the last 5 years? There were games with both Borchard and Timo in the lineup, and they had '04 Crede too. So those were bad. On another note, how good would Jamie Burke look behind the plate every 5 games?
  3. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:17 AM) Got any better ideas for hitters on short-term contracts who don't cost an arm and a leg? Emil Brown. KC was looking to unload him before the start of the season.

I learned the hard way that my first car didn't like the 10% stuff. They don't really sell that stuff anymore, or atleast I haven't seen it in years. I'm not really looking anymore. Last summer, I discovered that my truck can run on the E85 stuff, so that was cool. But I have to drive about 10 miles out of my way to get it. I've had one tank of it. I was disappointed that it didn't smell like popcorn.
  5. Sweeney hasn't dominated anything since HS. Why should we expect him to do it at teh major league level, besides your generally insane projections.
  6. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) GREAT trade Essentially they Traded Thomas Jones for all those picks.
  7. 2nd rounder (62) 3rd rounder 5th rounder 3rd rounder next year.
  8. Somebody should plunk James Posey next game
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) Birmingham Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Gonzalez, G 7.0 5 2 2 1 13 1 1.91 Bastard raised his ERA by .22
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) Career OPS+? That's your arguement? And it's half ass because he's only a part-time player. Well damn that Kenny Williams to hell for not jumping on Mr. Trot Nixon. No telling how good our offense would be with him on board. Since when is Pods a full time player? We suffer through Ozuna's defense in LF everytime there's a LHP on the mound. Good job, Fathom. You called this inning.
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) Heard of it. And Pods had one near .390 before he got hurt. Unless you're Mark Prior or Kerry Wood, you can't predict injuries all the time. You're telling me you couldn't predict Pods injury? It's the 4th straight year he experienced "unrelated" problems with his groin. You're telling me you're surprised that Thome is headed for the DL?
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Nixon? A platoon player that can't hit lefties? How would he be any better than what Pods brings to the table? I keep hearing Eduardo Perez's name brought up. If he's so good, why is he currently unemployed? Perhaps you've heard of something called OBP? Not to mention, that comes with some power, which Pods does not bring to the table.
  13. Injury Delay? I'm without cable right now... What happened?
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) The bears need to draft a WR, O-lineman and some defensive guys later. Im guessing they will pick up a smaller speed back in the middle rounds as well. On espn: I dont agree with this assessment of Berrian at all 3. Wide receiver: Muhsin Muhammad turns 34 this year and he no longer has the speed to consistently beat defenders over the top. Mark Bradley could be the heir, but he has been plagued by injuries the past two seasons and Bernard Berrian is marginal No. 2. The Bears need a playmaker who has the ability to crack the top three during training camp. I wish that OSU's Gonzalez would fall to the Bears pick in the 2nd round. He'd be a get there, and a nice fit for the current team, where Muhammad will still be considered #1, with a chance to grow into more. Any idea where Lorenzo Booker is going to fall?

  16. I heard Graber likes little boys.... /anyone who's listened to This American Life lately knows what I'm talking about.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Perez would be ideal right now. Especially considering our record against LHP (1win) The Sox are 3-3 in games started by LHP.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) We are channeling Pinella I hope we trade for more black players. I hear they are better at handling the heat of the summer.
  19. QUOTE(Soxy @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:55 PM) I drove home today for a long weekend and I'm always amazed by a couple of things: 1.) Does Ohio ever end? Because it feels like a never ending wasteland to me You have to stack together roughly 3 Ohios to equal one Nebraska.
  20. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) I wouldn't mind seeing Owens leading off for the Sox right now. So does the rest of the AL Central.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) How many have been 7+IP and 0 runs allowed? We may be witnessing a great sight, here. A career night from Chad Durbin. I wish this game were broadcasted on Comcast so I could tape the replay. two the July '01 games were back to back 8 innings of shutout baseball. This is his first time through 7 with 3 or fewer hits though.
  22. Durbin's first career game with 7+ innings and 3 or fewer hits.
  23. Durbin has a grand total of three career starts with 6+ IP and 0 runs allowed: 8/10/2004, 7/13/2001, and 7/18/2001
  24. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) dare i mention that gavin floyd has a 2.50 ERA in AAA......just making an observation Floyd gave up 3 first inning BOMB, 4 earned runs, to the Tigers AAA affiliate. Anything Danks can do, he can do s***tier, I suppose.
  25. Floyd's just watching the Sox, and has determined that having a bad first inning is key to be an integral part of the Sox staff.
