  1. Sold lower now than they might have later, correct. There ought to be a good point to doing it now. Otherwise, don’t do it just to do it
  2. As much as we talk building culture around here, baseball smart and defense should be a premium. Try and get something for Sosa and help our new manager establish a baseline of expectations for playing good baseball.
  3. That’s why I said talent is what makes it OK to be….whatever y’all are accusing Kelenic of being.
  4. I’d say there’s been a lot of great teams with a lot of different personalities on them. A number of them aren’t the most conformist in the world, and certainly not Boy Scouts. Talent is what makes everything ok. If Kelenic was good, he’d just be considered quirky.
  5. I thought he was a hard worker. He’s got some kind of emotional issue, which is not the same thing as “culture”. We have some people talking about him like he is Josh Donaldson.
  6. Logical reasoning says he came to the Sox because they basically have him making the team already. I doubt it’s the Chicago of it all. Which I love don’t get me wrong.
  7. You could just pretend he’s traded while he”s injured, and hitting .185 into June.
  8. IIRC, wasn’t Kelenic good in AAA originally? His second go round he was lost even before he got back there. Just reading the tea leaves, and Kelenic choosing free agency over going down, and that the ST invite was written in, this guy fully expects to make the team. And who knows about starting. I bet there is an informal understanding that he has a spot that is his to lose in ST. In other words, he doesn’t have to destroy in Arizona, he just has to not be bad. Kelenic didn’t necessarily have to come to Chicago. But Chicago is where as Mr Fox says, the worst outfield in MLB may exist.
  9. He definitely sees an opportunity to start here. DFAd but chose free agency. Could have gone where he wanted. “Invitation to camp” basically means an opportunity not to play himself off the team
  10. He’s just another Jim Parque (now that he’s gone)
  11. Already moved on to Kelenic 🥹
  12. You know how easy it is to bribe the office cleaning lady to plant an amazon recording device yes?
  13. Somewhere in the ‘States, Imai is very intoxicated, and most likely smoking cigarettes. Good times
  14. Even if it was never going to happen, whoever in the Sox FO that is allowing the trolling to take place getz it.
  15. I was commenting on this possibility or probability earlier. A dump could just mean they want to convert his salary to a different player. But it’s still cheap, they don’t have to do this just because Imai would be coming. And without a replacement for Robert in center, that’s not going to help the product just to move Robert’s salary into another position. There’s no reason they couldn’t dump Robert at the deadline either. Paying his salary for half a season shouldn’t be a big deal.
  16. Rumors checking in that Imai likes the sauce. A lot 😱
  17. It’s tough to get prospects in 2025 even if you’re offering a clean player, let alone Luis Robert. It’s likely just a salary dump for nominal dudes at the end of the day if there actually is a trade. Which would be a damn sight disappointment. Jerry owes us a shot at 2026 entertainment. That’s the least he can do.
  18. ‘So, now that we have signed Bleday, will you settle for taking the trash we are offering?’ Getz: No
  19. The only way to figure this out is if we are operating on the assumption that they are spending Luis Robert’s salary. Otherwise, who the heck are we?
  20. Flat fastball. 20 degree arm angles and such. Fears of Reynaldo Lopez
