Aside from a popup winner in 2005, the pathetic record of this team for countless decades (well, they were actually counted) speaks for itself that there is no direction they choose likkely to work. It is an incompetant organization, historically so. Perhaps the unwillingness to invest in a productive farm team prevents them from being successful despite themselves. But until they finally decided to build a sustainable model for the farm system to flourish, all this talk about which direction to choose is empty gumflapping.

On WSCR they were making fun of Pedro/Sox for apparently being literally the only team that wants him. Because they must be so much smarter. Last comment mine.

Way too much risk to keep him. If you’re Getz, you want to put your money on consistency. When a player shows you who he is, believe him. I’m afraid the Sox are in too much of a short term mindset right now.

No way in hell the way Moncada and Kpoech have turned out we didn't get slaughtered. You don't trade a guy like Sale without receiving major young talent that pans out. In fact by Jerry's own criteria: "You have to have four prospects who can’t possibly miss to get one," White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf told CSN. "I’ve seen so many players over the years who were going to be phenoms, they were going to be future Hall of Famers, and we don’t even remember what their names are anymore. That’s why when you’re trading a player of stature you’ve got to get multiple can’t-miss prospects back. That’s why it makes it tough to trade a player of great stature."

They can’t go on short staffing the player acquisitions/development areas. If we don’t hear anything about change right there, then why would we ever invest our time and money with this franchise ever again.

All bets are off. It’s difficult to root for any specific outcome or direction, because everything seems to have a bad outcome attached.

If it means he gets hot down the stretch enough for another team to be interesting in rolling the dice on a trade for him, that would be fortunate.

That, and getting paid before you accomplish anything. There are tons of specimen types without that elite drive that will probably stop playing and preparing hungry.

The Red Sox knew something about this guy. The White Sox always think they can outsmart some of these organizations in trades. A lot more investment in baseball intelligence is needed on the south side.

All they have to do is bring guys up and hold onto them (when they do well) instead of dicking them around for busted ass veterans. c'est la vie Sox life. We were lampooned when we advocated for this Burger kid to take over.

His wife indicated frustration. I’m sure playing free of the roadblocks, and playing free from this mindfucking organization helps him to play more loose.
