A good organization will get him, yes.

Hmm. Out of towners sounds damn good. Someone with high standards, hunger, and fresh eyes. This whole episode is about the problem with the White Sox incestuous ways. If a Jeff Bezos of somebody came in here, hallelujah. If Reinsdorf moves the team, well maybe a whole group of innocent fans gets to spend a lot more hours doing something good for their health instead.

Jerry defiantly doubled down on the successful White Sox way..

Liar! You would have fired yourself from informing decision-making. You are an old man that does not learn. George McCaskey learned. You sir, have not.

"I wanted baseball taught in the minor leagues a certain way where people understood what they were doing," Reinsdorf said. "They understood what's the right thing to do in a certain situation. And nobody ever did it right - until Chris [Getz] came along. And this I observed, you know, a couple of years ago. I was thrilled." Jerry a fan of CGs minors work. JR must not be a huge bottom line type guy. His own opinion carries the day. Who was it was saying Reinsdorf doesn’t actually know a lot about baseball? Chris Getz was not a hot commodity around MLB .

So, my brother said that this was the worst General manager hiring event in Chicago Sports history. Hard pressed to think of worse. Remember, this is not based on job performance post hire. Just the persons, and the circumstabces around a hiring/event. Worst in Chicago Sports history

Jerry makes it too hard. It's too much to deal with.
-
Cinch it up and hunker down
-
Good thing the guy that put him in charge was an owner that said CG was the first Farm Directer in the owner's career that did what the owner wanted. Jerry affirmatively likes what the Sox have done with the farm system.
-
I think Jerry will take the recent failure as validation of the previous approach Jerry has used for decades. Whatever Getz is allowed to do away from that will be on the cheap I'm sure

nice. Theyre gonna move the deck chairs on the Titanic. NO

winning fast, I don't know what it means. It doesn't mean spend more money to Reinsdorf, he made that clear. I suspect in the short term we are going to see a lot of top prospects traded for mid tier MLB talent like they used to do (much to our detriment). In the long term, I hope they will build up the farm system into a top system perenially. But we all know that's not going to occur.

the Sox want to 'Win quickly' What does this mean?
-
Reinsdorf had an obligation to help fans get through this by hiring a relatable person that gives them hope. What a failure of an owner to read the room. If Getz addresses the lack of support staff raw employment numbers in the organization, as well as the quality, there might be some small hope. But good Lord.

Sooo, parallel universe: Who would you hire?

They should put Svengoolie in the dugout. It's gonna be scary -
After an exhaustive search, Getz named GM/VP

As LoHo says, ‘Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t know anything about baseball’ -

“We knew we weren’t going to be able to get anybody good. So let’s get this over with.” -

When you search your heart, you know there is no other possible outcome. -
Set it in stone. GM Getz. Hey new Operations guy…you’ll get Getz and Pedro, and like it.
-
He was clearly on a glide path to the job eventually before the humiliation this season. Because Jerry likes him. We aren’t talking about an owner that hires on merit/ability/accomplishment first. He hires chiefly because he has existing personal relationships. I suspect that relationship still being intact may win the day.
-
That team won because of the DC’s defense, and Jim Fink’s drafting. Ditka was a good coach, but the White Sox are definitely not getting the top candidates out there who are hot names. Not with this situation (if true)
-
There is nobody worth hiring that would take a job where Jerry Reinsdorf is dictating manager hires. Especially after TLR fiasco. If there is any teuth to Pedro being safe, there is ZERO chance to make a good hire.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf looking internally for candidates from his own loser organization. My God who does that.

safe to say that her husband wanted a deserved opportunity that wasn’t forthcoming
