Our Current Depth Chart
Thanks for the Colon optimism. Why don't the Sox people get hold of him now and start running him. He can't be a fatso and win.

Our Current Depth Chart
I admit our rotation looks a lot better to me with a veteran as No. 4 starter. Tell me ... can Colon pitch? Are you folks hopeful? My other queston mark is Betemit. Again are you folks hopeful? The lineup could go either way. It seems to me it's all on CQ and Lexi. We pretty much know what we are gonna get out of the big boppers. Can CQ and Lexi carry the club? Maybe.

Garland thread continues in Diamond Club
Garland is not terrible. People tend to rate the players they see everyday way lower than ones they never see like f***ing Oliver Perez. I wish we could get Jon back. I realize it aint happening though.

Contreras News
I like the lost weight news. Sometimes though guys show up and look like they always did.

Angels want dye per-cowley
Dye is a big boy. It takes him a while to get going when motoring in for shallow flies and toward the line. But he's no disaster out there. If we make no moves I'd rather see BA in center than Owens. And CQ in left. Fields at third, Young at ss (trade them prospects), Lexi at second and Paul at first. AJ catcher with no decent backup (that could haunt us if durable AJ goes down). Thome DH. Trust our bullpen as is to bounce back. Mark, Floyd, Danks and pray for rain on the hill. p.s. Please sign Garland and Dunn.

One of the first "projected" standings, Sox dead last
I can't understand why KW hasn't moved one of our vet slow guys yet. Except for the no trade clause stuff. Now is the time to change the makeup of our everyday 9 a bit, and I don't mean just having Getz at second and Owens/Brian in cf. On paper, we don't look like a contender that is for sure. Unless our bullpen really really rallies. I mean if Danks, Floyd and Mark are unstoppable and our bullpen is great for once I guess we could surprise. I'd feel better if we had added one inning eater starter, take our chances with our current bullpen and add a stud center fielder and either a good third baseman or second baseman.

Lowe signs with Braves
So players are still getting top dollar. Just sign Garland, Kenny, Just do it.

Angels want dye per-cowley
I'd rather have Michael Young out of those 3.

Angels want dye per-cowley
I will miss Dye if we trade him. What a stud. If we trade him for Figgins ... my god.

Andruw Jones to the Sox??
Pls answer this: Why would we want Jones? Isn'tt he done???

Scott Merkin's 2009 projected lineup
I'd rather have free swinging Lexi bat second. No need to protect him. He's a good hitter. Give him the extra at bat a game up there.

Obsessed with (the lack of) Sox off-season moves?
Don't ticket prices go up every year?
-
Gooch Returns?
I'd rather have Durham back than Gooch if we are going that route.

Scott Merkin's 2009 projected lineup
I don't like AJ batting second. I agree the rotation needs one more proven starter. This team will be a lot like last year's, only winning when the big bopper veterans blast the ball over the fence and the days our bullpen is on, not off. How bout a veteran starter, Kenny? How bout one more trade, talking Paulie or Thome into being moved.

Obsessed with (the lack of) Sox off-season moves?
It just seems like this would be a perfect time to make some significant changes. I guess our higher ups feel some of the young guys we have and acquired actually will play. I don't know about you guys but I sense this is the year we need to give AJ a lot more time off and we have no backup catcher. We still have all our station to station hitters. We acquired no veteran starters so far. I didn't want Javy back but we need another starter to replace him. I can stand KW standing pat in our pen. On paper like Joe Morgan said, we have a good pen if those guys all do the job. The question is ... can Carlos Q carry our team on his back? Paulie and Dye and Thome are getting no younger. Ditto AJ who has been great but can he be this durable forever with no backup? Hopefully KW will make some moves of interest. I can hear some boos this season if we are the same Jeckyll-Hyde team we were offensively a year ago.

Obsessed with (the lack of) Sox off-season moves?
What moves? We've been too quiet regarding guys who can contribute this coming season. We need to make an eye opening deal. Oz is going to implode if our lineup is station to station again with the same cast of characters this year.

2008 MLB Catch-All Thread
Anybody agree with me we, like Obama, need change. I don't wanna see Paulie, Dye, AJP, Thome plod around the bases again this year. I want one gone. It's time to change don't you think? We barely escaped Minnesota due to a gutsy 1-0 win at home, then got smoked by the Rays as most expected. We need change in our lineup.

Yankees sign Teixeira
Can you imagine if TV money dried up in this economy what the Yanks would do? How does TV remain able to pay the Yanks the kind of cash they do?
-
Frisco Signs Randy Johnson
It's pretty obvious KW is going with what we got. Are we rumored to be heavily after anybody? Not complaining just wondering.
-
Rangers may go to a 4 man rotation
I love it. Like Ryan said arms hurt anyway because it's unnatural motion to do that to your arm. I do think it's too late to do this, however. Too many pitchers and fans have been conditioned to the babying of pitchers the last many years. So this will fail.

Yankees sign Teixeira
Yanks are going crazy. Hope we take some of that luxury tax and do something with it. We got to add some pieces.

Angels May Consider Trading For Dye or Paulie
Keep Dye; trade 'em Paulie.
-
Cabrera probably WON'T go to the Dodgers
I wouldn't have minded keeping OC considering we got rid of all the other guys I despise: Swish, Logan, etc.
-
What Happened to Pursuing Orlando Hudson?
I wonder what KW has up his sleeve. We are not a better team right now than the end of teh season.

Sox have inside track on Abreu
Get me Dunn and McLouth. Now.
