Is yolmer going to be out of baseball in 2020? He made 4.6 mill this season. Frankly, no other team is going to be clamoring to sign him. If the Sox offer 4.6 million he probably won't take it so he'll be a free agent and no one will sign him. Kind of a weird story. If I were Yolmer I'd take 3 million for one year to stay in Chicago. He could shuffle between AAA and MLB according to injury need. Pardon me if he's on arbitration. I did not see mention of that anywhere.

He really has been great. I'm still a bit puzzled how the team can blow so badly with some sensational individual players. Moncada has a glove, folks. I like him better at 3B than 2B.

Zack just said on postgame to Stoney he had the jitters his first go-round in the majors and now he's feeling great, no jitters. Folks, he's a human being. It's tough the first go-round in the bigs. I'll shut up soon but for a team that's rebuilding, there's no reason to not play Zack next year in his age 25 season for gosh sakes!! The guy is gonna be 25 next year meaning in baseball years he's got about five years left before age-ism sets in. PLAY ZACK! Surprised you guys are letting greg be the loudest voice in support of Collins on here. I'm anti tank but I want one of the key pieces to play. The eye test of greg says me likey Zack Collins! I'd think I'd have some support on here from the rebuild people.

It's Zack Collins time, baby. Absolutely no reason to not have him as No. 1 catcher in April. McCann is fine as a tutor to Zack.

If you are trading Lopez, Rutherford and Collins, three major pieces in the tank/rebuild as well as Colome, one of the only reliable bullpen arms on the team ... seems like it's silly and you ought to just order quicksand for the outfield surface. You are just shuffling bodies around year after year. Might as well sink the franchise or move the team. At some point, win with the guys who you tanked for. Just give up cause it's obvious your team can't develop players if you are willing to trade 'em all.

Frankly I don't know. It'll hit me one day if I don't care at all anymore. I know from the last several seasons I've been programmed to not care anymore if we beat the Royals or Cubs and I do not follow the standings anymore even in April and May as I've been conditioned to feel we are not going to contend. I do watch a lot of games on MLB and keep up with the daily box scores and know what's going on with every Sox player and could hold my own in a conversation about the White Sox and also what's coming up through the minors. I'm wondering how many of the regular Sox fans have totally lost track of everyday goings-on with the team or if they are keeping track waiting for better days which we have been told and in some cases seen are coming. The opener thing will really be annoying with baseball going with inane strategy stuff as early as the first inning. That will annoy me and maybe break me. It says 42 percent of Americans consider themselves MLB fans. 30 percent are women; average TV viewer is 53; 29 percent of fans are 18-34 years old; average household incomine is 96,000 bucks.

I'm a big White Sox fan. I love the White Sox. I like to talk about the White Sox and read others' opinions about the White Sox. I got excited when we acquired Rutherford so sorry. p.s. I have a lot of problems with our team right now and baseball in general and have to sort through those to decide if I want to continue to care about the White Sox and baseball in general.

I'll stop after this, but I want to ask you and then I'll stop: 1.) Are you in favor of the tank/rebuild? 2.) Assuming you say yes, this guy is a No. 10 draft pick and he's about to enter his age 24 season. He's no young pup. 3.) Do you want the high draft picks we signed to play for the team and lead the team to the WS a couple times? This guy passed our scouts' scrutiny, they drafted him, he's supposed to be the catcher of the future. Well, let this tank/rebuild play itself out. Play him next year A LOT. That's why I want to play Rutherford as well. We were told to support the tank; well, I wanna see the tank acquisitions play and succeed. This kid has been considered can't miss all his life. Now he's not can't miss? I'll listen for your answer then stop giving my takes. Let's just say I want to be put in the category: Collins starter/McCann super sub next year.

He's part of the tank/rebuild and is ready. I want him to start at catcher next year. McCann can help him and play 1-2 times a week. I know I said Hahn will never be fired cause of Eloy/Moncada, but he should at least be reprimanded if this No. 10 pick can't start next season and produce. No. 10 pick.

Why are we down on Collins now? He's a 10th overall draft pick? He has Carlton Fisk size. What has made him be out of the mix? He's supposed to be one of the studs in the rebuild at No. 10 pick overall. He's got the experience. He's more than old enough. Play him. Start him next year.

McCann is fine, but give the job to Collins next year. Why not?

It's baseball's fault. Game after game against the same teams. Sickening to play Minnie so often. Why should their fans care? They've already proven they are 10 times better than the Sox team. Why go to the game and pay $$ when you can watch it on TV? 19 games against Minnie. One big LOL to baseball. GIve us a balanced schedule!

As good as some of our young starting pitchers have been, they been equally bad on many nights. Good luck trying to figure out if these guys have what it takes. Sox are not going to finish above .500 next year with such inconsistent starting pitching and a leaky bullpen.

I don't know why people aren't excited about Collins? So many people on here want to lose and get top draft picks. This is the guy we got at No. 10. He looks like he's Carlton Fisk-like in stature at 6-3, 220. There should be a lot of expectations surrounding him and he should produce big time unless he's a busted draft pick. He's had four years in the minors. I'd rather him start than McCann to tell u the truth. Let him sink or swim. I bet he succeeds.

He turns 25 in February. Play him now. It'd be ridiculous to wait til his age 26 season to play his first full year. The Sox thought this guy was worthy of the No. 10 pick. Play him now and see if he's good or a bust.

I am not giving up on Collins. Eye test more than early stats. He looks like a prospect to me. Surely Collins has some supporters who are with me. 10th overall pick in 2016?? He better be good or the draft fans have some explainin' to do.

Puig: This year in 519 at bats ... 24 HRS (blah according to our many analytics peeps on here who don't like Avi or Jose); 77 RBI (very blah; meaningless stat but even for a meaningless stats has way too few RBIs to be considered anything much); OPS of .768 (little above league average); .317 OBP (little above league average), 17 stolen bases. I think that's impressive but stolen bases are not desired anymore. War: 1.2 (considering 2 is average player not good). Age: 29 in December. Consensus: You advanced statters should blast him all next season if we get him. He's average at best. Greg's faves: Avi is up to 1.9 WAR; Jose is 2.5. Isn't 2.5 getting close to being acceptable to the advanced stat aficionados?

OMG. This is quite the stretch. I just wish we'd trade Jose so I wouldn't have to defend him so much. At least there are two other staunch defenders of Jose along with me Not a bad take by Vile. This is what message boards are for. Throw out a take that's sort of wild but reasonable. Some of us have said for a long time the manager is at a disadvantage on the south side cause of his options. Some nights he has nothing but crap to put on the mound out of the bullpen. Let's face it life is all about making $$$, the most money you can. And with this payroll, the Sox have made soooooo much money during the tank.

Baseball is lucky to have so many loyal fans. The product right now is crap and franchises shouldn't be worth a minimum of $1 billion. To be fair, that last pitch was right over the plate just above the belt which is supposed to be a strike, but isn't as the umps for many many years call their own strike zone. Modern baseball 2019 is all about a hitter either hitting a home run or striking out and occasionally drawing some walks to keep that one advanced stat in their favor. I was talking to a former all-conference baseball player the other day, he's about 35. He said he can't watch MLB. Says it's simply unwatchable.
