2025 Things to be Excited About List
But how do you make real $$ with the strategy. If you bet the Sox to lose it'll be -250 or more every game. Is it worth the bet to bet when the Sox will be -350 or so every game to lose?

2025 Things to be Excited About List
No. Why should a player 'waste' all those at bats or 'waste' all the stress on the arm in something as uinimportant as minor league baseball. These guys can play college ball 3 years then hit the pros running rather than play 2-3-4 years of minor league ball.

2025 Things to be Excited About List
Amen. I've never been fooled by this, "He is not ready," talk in baseball. So many fans 'appear' to live in fear of 'rushing' their top prospects. Why? You give me one good reason Montgomery would play AA or AAA this year instead of MLB. Or even some of these pitchers who are 'close' but certainly 'not ready?' Now because of analytics a player is basically done after his age 34 season. He has to be coddled and not be an MLB regular til 24. So we're down to 8 year careers now (Hall of Fame in the future, lol) max compared to say the Pete Rose era guys who played 20 years. Yes Pete Rose made his debut at 22. It can, and should be the norm for the studs of baseball IMO. Glad to see somebody finally agreed with me on an issue, in the form of Texsox.

2025 Things to be Excited About List
How come NBA doesn't care about "rushing" prospects? They play the 1 and done college guys on 2 way contracts their rookie seasons then if they aren't good in year two they quickly lose the 'top prospect' tag as they've proven they can't play. I see no reason guys 21 and 22 can't be regulars on MLB teams like in NBA and in NHL and soccer.

Mike Clevinger is back lol
This may be a sign that Getz is worried that our pitching staff (without the young studs being ready) is putrid. I'm sure he'd like to win 45 games instead of 41 with our new manager.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
As an off season topic I was wondering how many people across the country actually buy mlb.com for the White Sox games this season. You think it's even 50 people? I think our team is so bad there literally could be only a dozen or two fans who buy mlb.com for white sox games. This team is irrelevant. ... Can you imagine trying to sell season tickets for this crew? The pitch would have to be how nice and comfy it'll be, being able to spread out and watch other teams come to town and perhaps catch a glimpse of some young pitchers who are our future.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
It will be really depressing if the Sox lose on opening day and start out something like 2-23.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
I think he's right. I've had a somewhat recurring dream off and on that has me buying an apartment/condo around 103rd and Pulaski or one of those small houses. And I think I'm going to love being back in the old neighborhood, and end my life where it started, in the big city. Instead the old buildings and lack of brand spanking new shopping centers (Ford City is a dump) and the narrow streets really depress me and the dream turns into a nightmare. ... I guess if I ever moved back, which I won't, I'd need to live down by Navy Pier in a nice place.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
I think everybody on this board would love to ignore negative narratives and say good things about the Sox. We just can't, however, cause they won 41 games last year, made no attempt to improve the 2025 team and some experts aren't even convinced we have stars to save us in the rebuild.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Are u sure? I think the Western suburbs are Sox fans basically. They want nothing to do with Wrigley and Wrigleyville. If you build a Jerry Jones complex out West, they will come, baby!

Sox looking at building in South Loop
I've been back to the south side. It's old and somewhat depressing although I will always love Br. Rice and Q of Martyrs and always want to go back. The south side is old and decrepit. The Sox used to be cool and cool is the freshness of suburbia unfortunately. I love old. Comiskey but the owners should know it's time to own suburbia.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Let's face it. The Sox are old news, uncool suddenly, a relic of a day gone by. There's no way any new stadium will be built anywhere near 35th and Shields or the south side. The Sox are going to move. The government will make it clear no money and the owners will ultimately get excited about a new city somewhere out there whether it's Tennessee or Seattle or Vegas or ?. The Sox truth be known belong in suburbia. The team had it right when they moved their academy to Lisle. The Sox only hope of being saved would be to build a state of the art, wonders of the world complex out in suburbia. Whether Arlington Park or Lisle or somewhere that makes the best sense in terms of traffic, the Sox belong in suburbia. The north side is Cub. The south side frankly is old and getting older looking. It's rich suburbia where they belong. Too bad it appears the owners are too dumb to consider moving out west. Lisle, Naperville, some huge swath of land that would be best. Naperville has had enough land to build a zillion high schools the past many years. Buy one out and use that type of land.

DeJong signs with Nationals...
No offense to DeJong, but does he belong in the big leagues? I'm sure he's a nice guy but he's kind of a forgettable player.

Sox Sign Joey Gallo to minor league deal, NRI
This is like the year Veeck acquired Ron Blomberg to replace the South Side Hit Men like Zisk who moved on. He stunk.

Sox Sign Joey Gallo to minor league deal, NRI
Even during the no money Bill Veeck years the Sox some of the time had a pulse (South Side HIt Men). The Sox had enough star players to win it all in 2008. Just give me a competing team. As far as the walk ons they'd stand no chance. If the Sox are going with walk ons against a big league schedule maybe we'll only win 30 this year. I do think the Sox will sneak up on some teams who can't get up for the Sox in head to head matchups. I'm just frustrated entering the 2025 season since I'm unfamiliar with all but 3 players.

Man I hate that thought. That this crappiness is by design. It's insulting to Sox fans. I know maybe 5 percent of the fanbase is all gaga over the rebuild/reload. Most people want their team to win NOW especially fans who have already seen their team stink at rebuilding/reloading.

First time in my Sox fandom I have to study the roster, try to read mlb.com to learn who will be playing for us on a regular basis this season. I can't be the only Sox fan who needs a class in Sox 101 2025 team. It sickens and disgusts me. Am I alone here? Certainly some of you know some pretty darn good Sox fans of past years who have no idea who these current Sox stiffs and retreads who will take the field in 2025 are. If so please tell me I'm not alone! It sickens me to see who will comprise our infield this year and catcher positions. And the bullpen. Who are these no names and why did the Sox do this to their loyal fans. I am a longtime Sox fan whether u believe it or not. p.s. At least I've heard of Beni and Robert and Vaughn.

I don't troll. Like or hate me I write how I feel as a life long Sox fan, a formerly proud Sox fan. The Sox have changed me for the worst. Ask fathom or caulfield how mad I'd get on here when our Sox lost to KC or the Cubs. Bitter anger.

In my opinion both have as good a chance of getting good again as the retreads the Sox acquired.

Sox Sign Joey Gallo to minor league deal, NRI
Our luck to be fans of a team that think rebuilding/reloading is sexy. I for one don't like writing off seasons and seeing the months of the calendar fly by. I live for the present, baby.

You can't be a fan of acquiring Joey Gallo and some of these other old guys from other teams can you? My point is the only thing that matters are the young pitchers and a few position players that aren't ready. So in the interim it's obvious the Sox are bringing in a bunch of old lousy hitters. Michael Taylor? Cmon. Austin Slater, Mike Tauchman, DeLoach. Give me Anderson and Abreu and some other former Sox mediocres hanging around other teams.

I like your posts 2023. But my point is if you have veteran placeholders make 'em former Sox players/pitchers. Nobody cares about somebody else's oldies making outs for our team. Did anybody pick up that guy who played OF for us last year, I forget his name. He went to the Cardinals then went 3-for-3 in one of the playoff games I attended in KC last October.

My point is if you bring in a Gallo and some of these other old guys to play for a 105-115 loss team, why not have some of our old faves back? They'd be more popular than these new oldies we acquired. We coulda got Tim Anderson cheap and the folks who don't wanna rush Colson could be happy. We coulda acquired Madrigal for pennies and played him over whomever gets the 2B job. Abreu coulda played 1B over Gatto. And on and on.

Joey Gallo hit 10 homers in 223 at bats last year; he could lead us in homers. Sox are the oldest young team in baseball history. ... Seriously why not fricking bring Abreu back if Gallo is gonna get a lot of playing time? Abreu probably could hit 25 homers in 2024-25 with our Sox.

Very well done piece by Fegan on State of the Sox
Reaction: 1.) Happy about Colson (at some point this is an entertainment business and following his progress might be moderately exciting; it would for a second make me wonder if I should buy the MLB package). 2.) Who the heck is Drury? Is Justin Anderson that former Royals guy? He reeks IMO. ... Is anybody ever gonna discuss projections for our pitching staff? By far it's the biggest bunch of no names in Sox history. Not hyperbole. I've followed the Sox forever and can't name one starter still. Have to check the articles for names.
