  1. Sounds like a thriller vs. Marist. Rice falls in OT. Aside from it being a great game 2023, what else can you say? Who had a good game? What do you think of the team's potential? I didn't watch it as I didn't want to pay 18 bucks for streaming.
  2. The suburban White Sox fan wants to drive to the game, not take public transportation IMO. Parking is needed. Even the suburban fans who drive to Bears games can find parking at Soldier right? They ain't taking any train in from suburbia.
  3. The parking issue is huge. People don't want to mess with public transportation after night games. They want to drive away and don't want to walk 2 miles to their vehicles.
  4. Just watched highlights of the 'no-hitter.' What a joke. Three pitchers. Big deal. I saw the last out. At least the Cubs didn't mob the pitcher. He got a hard hug from the catcher and that was it. Baseball has taken away the no hitter. Repeat what a joke with modern baseball.
  5. What's up with all these hits? Bats break out. Will O's get mad and rally? Or is this a rare win?
  6. Yeah, I can't see the Sox ever leaving that area of 35th and Shields. Maybe they'll build another one at the site of old Comiskey only make it look like Camden Yards. Then the current stadium gets blasted for parking. Just do what they did last time again.
  7. Let's face it, Guaranteed Rate field is OK lower level and bleachers area. The whole upper deck should be removed. Jerry making it so steep is dumb. Any grumblings in Bridgeport about the Sox leaving the area? Would it decimate the area economically?
  8. Is there any space for parking at the new park's location? Where actually is the park? For instance let's say you were driving from northeast naperville to the new park? How do u get there? Would there be much traffic?

Francona would cost too much and not be interested. The Sox "plan" is not winning anytime soon. The only "name" manager who would take the job is Ozzie (duck as apples are flung at my head). Who is "Skip?"
  10. Sox are so far from .500 I guess it doesn't matter since there's no sense of urgency to have ANY good players on the roster (once we trade Crochet).
  11. What a horrible game again. 9-0. Six hits. Blah. And the pitching? Can't really be any worse.
  12. Summary/conclusion: I"m not expecting to hear anything significant about Drew again. Just another damaged pitcher. Sad. It's not his fault I'm just stating this whole situation reeks. Like the fact it's just getting shaved down and could return, etc. It's pretty wild when it's more risky to be a baseball pitcher nowadays than a football linebacker. My gosh, all these pitchers wind up hurt significantly. I don't see how any organization could pay a pitcher for multi year contracts. Almost assuredly part of that time will be in a hospital. Sad stuff. Get well, Drew.
  13. Ouch. What a revolting set for DH.
  14. Maybe the Bears or Blackhawks will make the playoffs.
  15. Poor Sizemore. I bet he's a decent baseball mind.
  16. Kuhl is not so cool. He was tossing up meatballs. They mercifully gave Vaughn a day off. Sox led early then Baltimore got mad against the AAA White Sox. Q: Could our triple A team have the same record as the Sox or would it be worse competing against MLB. I dunno. 32 wins ain't many. 11 in a row. After this season no losing streak will ever surprise us.
  17. I'm not a Cub fan. In fact I'm slowly giving up on baseball. If I'm giving up on baseball I know others are because I've been a Sox fan all my life. I know I won't watch an inning of the postseason even if the Cubs or Royals make it. There have to be a lot of southsiders, especially kids, losing all interest in MLB because of the state of the Sox and the new, boring nature of the game. The all or nothing offensive philosophy (K or strikeout approach for all hitters; the boring cutter getting guys like Robert every time) and the parade of relievers with starters only able to go five makes the sport unwatchable basically. ... I'm surprised they don't accuse me of being a Royals fan on here since I've posted about the Royals a few times. Only baseball I've watched this summer is the game video recaps on mlb.com which are free.
  18. You are something else. So wrong. But I'll try to keep posting about the Cubs so as to keep you thinking I love them. You know sometimes it's OK to admit one is wrong. Ask Fathom how mad I used to get on here (when Sox were not in the offensive Double Tank) when we lost to the Cubs and/or the Royals. In fact find the old posts. Some people said the Cub series was just another series but I'd get flat out livid in figuring out our record against them each season. ... Anyhow you might want to ponder for self growth how you could be so wrong about an issue, this issue, if u ever do self reflection. I ain't no Cub fan but now I do want them to make the playoffs and win it all because of my overriding anger at JR and his Sox. I'll try to not post on this again but I'm thinking you'll want to get in the last word so that might spark me to post on this again.
  19. Hemond and Dombroski knew what they were doing. Definitely top echilon of GMs.
  20. I thought u were being nicer along with Quin. Mabe not. My bad.
  21. You were getting nicer to greg; now u seem to be a greg-hater again.
  22. That had to be the highlight of McKinney's career. He was no JC Martin that's for sure.
  23. Especially when it rained and the turf was wet. So ugly. ... at least the fans could count Melton's homers. And wonder how Luis Alvarado had a job in the bigs.
  24. Trust me I'm not. True I'm losing interest in all teams but I cannot name one Cub starting pitcher. I've heard of Darby. I can pretty much name all the Sox except some of these woebegone relievers they bring up. ... However I now see no reason the Cub shouldn't make the playoffs. It has no effect on the Sox since our team is gonna stink for years to come. It used to be Cub success would pressure the Sox into getting off their butts and start winning. No longer. Nothing matters except Jerry's wallet. I know that's always been the case but we've had some good Sox teams throughout history til the Double Tank. So yes I welcome a Cub playoff berth. Why not? Anything to embarrass JR if it's possible.
  25. At least fans of that team could discuss why in the world the owner had an astroturf infield and grass outfield. Not so aesthetically beautiful.
