Sox Sign James Karinchak to minor league deal, NRI
Is he the guy that hit Abreu in the helmet?

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
The channel is live in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa market...comes in crystal clear at my place. Still seems odd for me to switch inputs to watch a "Chicago" channel...but at least it works at this point!

Jeff Torborg Passes
Ugh...he was the best! What a great person...and for White Sox fans...he was the perfect manager at the perfect moment for this franchise!

Ishbia brothers own small piece of White Sox...
And Jerry has cleared the organization of major financial commitments that any potential buyer would have to consider. Not saying he is doing this on purpose...but think if the Dodgers were put up for sale with their payroll structure at the moment. One would have to take a long hard look at the financial obligations just in terms of player pay. This situation sucks for fans, sadly Jerry seems to be creating an opportunity for a new owner to have as clean of a start as possible. Again, not suggesting he is doing this on purpose.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
Now they switched the Cedar Rapids channel back to the "coming soon" column!

Rule 5 Draft
Easier to hide/hold a pitcher or a hitter when acquired via Rule 5? I feel like a pitcher might be easier to justify a roster spot...

What could have been
All organizations have these situations...I still would have loved to have watched the White Sox figure out how to use Tatis, Jr, Semien and TA all at the same time when they were young...

What could have been
Agree...it would be different if Cease was drafted by the White Sox...and even then it would be hard to imagine Sale lasting this long (even though he has missed a bit of time in his career).

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
So far in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa market the channel doesn't seem active. The channel comes in very clear but so far I have only seen infomercials being broadcast. Maybe I should look for a different channel but I feel I have scrolled thru all of them and found nothing...

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
I live in Iowa so I get what feels like half of the league blacked-out! Still though...MLB.TV is my savior half of the calendar year! I don't watch every game nor focus on every pitch of very many games but it is always nice to have baseball on in the house whether it occupies my main focus or serves as background noise. That said...I never thought I would pay for MLB.TV OVER a White Sox "channel"...but next year I might just be doing that!

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
I dialed in the Cedar Rapids station that is listed and it comes in crystal clear at my place. That said...it was a couple of weeks ago and they weren't transitioned over to CHSN yet. I will have to give it a shot tonight to see what is up with it.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
They are listed on the website...I think they reorganized the layout/links...but the Cedar Rapids/Des Moines stations are still listed: https://www.chsn.com/faq

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Dodger Stadium is the 3rd oldest in MLB and it feels like it! Still a beautiful park to watch a baseball game in it though! They and KCR renovated the outfield in an attempt to make the ballpark about things other than the game but even then both ballparks (Dodger and Kaufmann) feel stale. The problem for Dodger is that there is hardly any public transportation in LA so Dodger has to be in the middle of parking lots.

Fire Chris Getz
Schueler lived off of the system that Larry Himes was putting together when JR fired Himes...Schu didn't do that on his own...but he did a decent job of sustaining it without successful 1st round picks.

Jerry Reinsdorf open to selling the White Sox per Britt Ghiroli
True...but that could be said about every owner...that is the ideal state for an organization. White Sox fans aren't built that way or at least we haven't been giving a reason to show up for a bad ball club!

Revisiting the Bummer Trade
That I agree with...I wasn't that clear...I guess I meant that if he is going to come back to the White Sox as a reliever I would guess it would only be due to getting paid more than he would anywhere else (which is really what most FAs do). I just think that if he was going to settle for being a reliever, he might want to go somewhere that would allow him to pitch in more competitive situations. Being a long reliever for the White Sox would not be ideal (although it is a MLB roster spot and accumulates service time)!
-
Revisiting the Bummer Trade
Would he come back to this organization as a reliever? Only if he gets paid more than any other organization...as a reliever. Unless he has zero offers...or the White Sox bid the most money...he is moving on...which is fine.

Managerial “Search”
I can't stand Showalter...but I hope he is the pick...would love to see what would appeal to him about this particular job? Desperation? The drama it would induce would be entertaining...and we need some of that because the product on the field will not be fun to watch!

Jerry Reinsdorf open to selling the White Sox per Britt Ghiroli
Was that local? Not a big deal to me...but I thought that was Parkins' new gig in NY on a FSR national show?

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Sad but real...the ONLY emotional/business connection that many White Sox fans have to the Bridgeport neighorborhood is the ballpark. That is it. I wonder what the percentage is of people attending a ballgame at the Rate who spend a dollar outside of the parking lot/ballpark? I love walking down to Grandstand and supporting that business. But even for me that is the extent of me "bringing business" to the neighborhood. I personally hope the 78 gets built...outside of going to White Sox games my favorite ballpark to visit is in San Diego! My first reaction to the renderings of the proposed ballpark made me think it could be like that! Padres games (as well as before and after the games) are fun (although they also have a fun team to watch). Just my opinion...once Comiskey was torn down my deeply emotional connection to the area was changed...Comiskey still pops up in my dreams occasionally! Not trying to dump on the neighborhood...I would love to live in a community like that and would feel safe there and proud of it. Just thinking that the 78 represents an opportunity for the White Sox to own baseball in Chicago as the thing to do...if they do it right!

Jerry Reinsdorf open to selling the White Sox per Britt Ghiroli
Off topic: I love this photo...could anyone mark this photo up and highlight the area that the proposed 78 ballpark would be located? I assume you could see in in this photo off in the distance? Maybe?

Schriffen speaks...
Beckham was improving...but seems to have regressed once his best friend became the GM...just seems he has trouble telling it like it is...that this team put together by his best friend sucked!

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Ozzie doesn't forget...and Ozzie knows he owes all he has in life to the chance the White Sox gave him as a young player. Doesn't mean he loves everything about Jerry but Ozzie is smart enough not to take him on in public. Ozzie appreciates loyalty shown his way...and he shows loyalty to those he deems worthy. But that doesn't mean he is a blowhard for the organization...quite the contrary!
