  1. That homer by Yaz was seemingly the first time I've seen him with THAT swing (swing-to-bat drop) all seaso.
  2. Bummer inducing grounder after grounder... all to Elvis.
  3. Tony's gonna be pissed when he finds out about this.
  4. ...and for comparison, Leury's had a slash line of .212 / .212 / .212 / .424 over that same timeframe. (Yes - BA = OBP = SLG. All singles. No walks, no XBH). Just putting it out there for reference.
  5. Posting this here for posterity... because that's clearly something that is important.
  6. Again, thank you for the updates and information. ...and again, I wish all IT teams communicated as transparently and frequently as you have throughout this process.
  7. Joe Kelly with an uncharacteristic lights-out first AB (3-pitch strikeout including a painted-corner sinker for strike 1 and a wipeout curveball for strike 3)
  8. From those numbers it's clear that teams are afraid to run on our outfielders.
  9. Maybe the Cleveland scouting / analytics department knows something about this kid and how it stacks up against the Sox's tendencies as hitters.... ...or maybe they just wanted McKenzie to have an extra day off for the aforementioned workload management reasons.
  10. I think it is to align Cease to pitch the opener against Clevelend. not sire though
  11. The only possible defense to the team’s handling of the Robert situation is if he actually has an injury requiring surgery that he is choosing to try to fight through. Even then, it’s naively optimistic at best
  12. From the article above (it's already been quoted)... emphasis = mine: Yeah - if that's not an indictment on TLR, I'm not sure what is.
  13. To me it's not the "instead of driving a grueling [24] hours across the country." It's the "he's with the team" part. It's the "he's not staying in Arizona" part.
  14. To be fair, we’ve said that after each “streak” that this team has been on this year.
  15. Also a huge feather in the cap of the Cleveland FO. They just have a seemingly endless conveyor of serviceable players ready to fill in. As soon as a player starts to make more through arbitration, they can control the (still-team-controlled) players for more prospects to backfill the pipeline.
  16. Well, anyone got a rally dump in ‘em?
  17. You haven’t been watching much this year, have you?
  18. …and the next pitch.
  19. True. Still, I would rather face them sputtering across the finish line than "rested up" and motivated to play spoiler.
  20. Disagree - the Twins would LOVE to play spoiler to us. Keep them motivated against all teams. Don't give them the luxury of circling the Sox games on their calendars. Make them face the Sox after a long, hard, arduous grind.
  21. …and gives it right back.
  22. Seems like the kind of feat someone like Chris Singleton would have pulled off.
