We don’t know what the trade offers were. But I’m sure they got progressively worse since 2023. At some point, you have to cut your losses and take what you can Getz. If they don’t pick up Robert’s option and try to deal him again in the offseason or by the next trade deadline, they are an even worse organization than we already thought.

Meidroth’s OBP is almost matching his SLG. I understand starting him as much as possible but the dude is a backup infielder.

The Royals are 10 games back on the division and 4 games back on the Wild Card. They won’t make the playoffs. Baseball is fair. The Royals are mediocre but they are still better than Getz’s s%*# ass Sox team. A new baseball commish isn’t going to suddenly make Jerry spend money or make Getz a better GM.

These are the two owners… Meanwhile, the players are usually failed MiLB prospects so they earn even less than MiLB minor leaguers, which is a pathetic salary to begin with (outside of high draft pick signing bonuses). Banana man ain’t making money by overpaying failed minor league baseball players that can dance. They are a dime a dozen. Just look at White Sox bust prospects. I watched the Bananas game tonight and there were numerous promotional ads from several Chicagoland companies that they are also making money for. I have zero doubt that that money isn’t going to the Bananas owners, along with Jerry. Chance the Rapper performed and both Buehrle and AJP made appearances. I have no doubt Jerry got all the concessions and parking revenue, along with more money for setting up the appearances.

I think it was only part time gigs for them — pay per appearance. He more than likely has no contractual salary. He thought he was worth more than he was. I’m sure he is regretting his decision to not accept The Score’s offer now. Radio is a dying media when anyone and everyone with some minor fame can start a podcast and make money off of advertising. He wasn’t even really a full-time on air talent. He was a producer for the show. No one knows who the F Shane Riordan is other than Chicagoans so he’s likely SOL. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him eventually accept some job as a radio producer elsewhere and he will be paid the same mediocre salary that he was already receiving from The Score.

There is zero power there. Just look at his SLG each month, even when his OBP was good. He’s basically Madrigal with a better glove. Meidroth simply isn’t going to work as a starting 2B. He’s a backup utility infielder on a good team at best. He will never be a consistent .385+ OBP machine with zero threat of hitting even double digit homers a season. The book is out on Meidroth now — he’ll be challenged in the strike zone because he is almost no threat of hitting a bomb. But a utility infielder isn’t the worst result as a third piece of a big trade. Ideally, Sosa’s glove improves and he learns the strike zone and becomes more patient. I have more hope in him being our starting 2B of the future than Meidroth going forward. Meidroth won’t OPS .750+ even in his wettest of dreams in the MLB.
