There's 9.5 million people in the Chicagoland area and you are saying no expansion team would move here ? -

If the Stewart group does end up buying the Sox why would they move them to Nashville? Leaving Chicago would be a huge mistake . -
Poll: Predict Final Win Total for the 2024 Chicago White
Falstaff replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I see my 2024-win total of +100 was a little high. Not to be negative but for the 2025 season I will drop down to the 94-99 win total. I reserve the right to go into the + 100 if the Sox sign Soto in F/A. -
"Good pitching stops good hitting" err, wait, what's the new saying according to WAR ?
-
After watching Carlos Rodon dominate the Guardians, I can't help but think of Crochett, Schultz, and Smith doing the same thing. Getz has his power left-handed pitching of the future, now go find some bats.

I always learn something at Sox Talk. When someone mentioned to move the Red Stars into Sox Park I didn't know who they were until I googled them.
-
I enjoyed the article and will be looking forward to the ceremony with Ron Kittle.
-
I am happy the Sox moved on from Kopech and Eloy, soon to be followed by Yoan, happy trails.
-
I like the Sox young pitching, and the work Bannister has done so far. Let's see the same player development on the position players coming up. Skip Schumaker fits the bill, but he might be waiting for the St. Louis job to open up.

I would add Lou Brown to the manager search list.

19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected

I hope they should lose their small market status when it comes to the draft -
The City or State is not going to put out any money besides infrastructure to the Bears new stadium on the lake front or the Sox at the 78, it just will not happen. So, if both teams do end up getting private funding the 78 will happen but the Bears will never get a shovel in the ground with lawsuits from the Friends of the Park. Warren is delusional and should move on and either build at Arlington Hts or sell the land and remodel Soldier Field which has already been floated out there by the previous mayor.

Excellent!! I Luv Our Chuck and Ozzie
-
If this was already posted I apologize, Chuck will be doing the CHSN White Sox pre and post. No word on Ozzie yet. Chuck's X , sorry can't get link as White Sox pregame and postgame host! The podcast is coming over, too. Looking forward to what’s next and serving Chicago sports fans: the best on the planet.

The trade ideas begin! Robert for Holliday ++
Falstaff replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Holiday's minor league stats are just the type of player that the White Sox need. 304/443/486, ops. 928. I love his walk total is almost at his strike out level , 201 walks 207 k's. 20 year old , ehh what the heck pull the trigger on this internet fantasy trade. -
I did not hear he passed, RIP Harry.

Fangraphs Article About Managerial Candidates

Thank you, Sir, that changes my opinion of Buck Showalter. I have always got the good vibe/sugar coated stuff about Buck from MLB network and ESPN because he was on the shows as an analyst. I like Keith Law coming out with what he really thinks. I do remember Ozzie taking a few digs at Buck calling him, "Mr. Baseball". But with Ozzie I kind of take with a grain of salt. -
Hehe , how about TLR and Leyland going after Harry and Jimmy Piersall, or Hawk wanting a piece of Burns and Boorstein. I don't think The Commander, Bob Elson ever went toe to toe with a ball player or manager that I know off.

Does Chris Getz deserve to be fired, yes. Do Sox fans deserve a competent owner, yes. If you tell me Chris Getz should never have been hired as the GM I would agree with you. We are stuck with both of them for now, all I ask is Abe Reinsdorf stays out of the way and lets Getz run the club and make changes as he sees fit. I am not giving Getz a vote of confidence but as a fan it's the only hope I have. In 4-6 years from now when both Jerry and Chris are gone maybe some superstars evolve out of the Scouting changes taking place. In the meantime, as PT Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute." That would be me cheering the Sox winning 5 out of 6 the last week of the season.

I am onboard with your thoughts on Vaughn.

Sun-times pay wall .... thank god

He better stay out of White Sox business
