What is the main problem with Fields defensively?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 11:34 AM) The main problem for Fields will forever be that he is not Joe Crede. I hope this Crede-Sox divorce period ends after this year, because I am already sick of "Crede would have gotten that" I think I am going to repond to those Crede comments with "Yeah, if he was healthy enough to stay on the field" With how many times I've heard "Crede would've gotten that" you'd think he was the best defender at 3B in history. We will all think Crede could've gotten a ball as soon as Fields can't, that doesn't mean you have to post it every damn time. The worse part about it is people will say that on plays Crede may have not gotten to. I thought it was bad hearing so much about god, I mean Rowand after he left I'm thinking I haven't seen nothing yet... -

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) Gavin's curve looks incredible right now, he's putting it where he wants it and keeping it low in the zone. It's wonderful. A consistent curve like that and the batters have no chance. -
Orlando Cabrera sets the record straight?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It seems OC is a good teammate, but bumped heads with a couple people in the organization and once the media heard a peep they wrote articles solely on him being a cancer. That is one reason KW always says he looks for people that can fit in the club, but can also handle the Chicago media. Maybe if he was with the team for more than one season people would have seen he wasn't a cancer. -
White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
Whitewashed in '05 replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2009 Season in Review
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 04:36 PM) Based on the pitches I've seen him throw and the coaching staff we have in place. He has a nice sinker and change. His curve will occassionaly float which hurts him and left handed hitters can take him the other way with ease. He is a few small adjustments away from being a big league pitcher IMO. I agree. He's got pretty good sinker. Today was the first time I saw him all spring and while he still needs work, he's got some good movement. -
Uncle Bud Rips USA's WBC Effort

He can't change it so the U.S. will have an edge. What he means is he's going to try to do something to get the U.S.'s best players to play. -
I thought forgetting sarah marshall was terrible as a movie in general, which is how it should be rated. Yeah you can say watching it with the significant other makes is better, but the only reason I would say that is true is so I won't have to see something else that's worse.

Since were talking about sleeping... sort of... For the past couple of weeks I find myself waking up in the middle of the night. I go back to sleep because I'm still sleepy, but I'm still well aware of everything. I can hear people talking if its early in the morning or dogs barking, etc. I'll be laying there half asleep half awake for an hour or less until I finally go to sleep. It happens multiple times a night too. The worse part about it is I'm a pretty busy person. My typical weekdays consist of school, work, lots of homework, and exercising in the gym 2-3 times a week. I also don't drink a lot of caffeine. I drink a lot of water or a non caffeinated pop a day.

It sucks to see MacDougal do so bad. He was LIGHTS OUT the first year he was with us. -
Good article. Seems like more people are becoming aware KW isn't just throwing people on the field and crossing his fingers that it will work.

Merkin: Marquez a "lock" to make the team

QUOTE (BearSox @ Mar 21, 2009 -> 11:18 PM) I don't know. I thought AA would make more sense for Viciedo as well, but we sent him to Charlotte. And I think Viciedo is a lot more raw than Beckham. It seems like the organization is trying being more patient with prospects than in years past so I wouldn't be surprised if they sent Beck to high A ball and just promote him if he's torching pitchers. -

Playoffs only is better. -
Initially I thought this was for the best and worse at turning double plays.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 03:23 PM) Jose is leaving his pitches up and I think alot of that is he doesnt appear to be driving off his right foot. Uribe RBI single scoring Rowand. That sounds weird to me for some reason. Contreras gives up an RBI single to Uribe scoring Rowand...

QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) Kenny loves those former football players, doesn't he? At least he picked up a wide receiver to play with all the former quarterbacks. Jerry Owens was a wide receiver...

When people say Chicago they think "Da Bears", Bulls, Michael Jordan, Sears Tower, etc. It sucks someone is willing to rename a building just like that.

I am currently working on a B.S. in Computer Information Technology focusing on Networking and Security. I would definitely agree that I like my job in this field, but not love it. As long as I don't dread going into work the next day after clocking out I'm happy.

You have the right attitude about it. You have a genuine interest and want to know how it works. One of the best ways to learn is experimenting hands on. Reading a book is only going to teach you theory, but if you read and experiment you can learn a lot. For beginners I recommend creating a small network at home. Get yourself an XP, Vista, and Win2K3 server if possible and network them. You can start off with a simple workgrouped network and eventually move up to a domain. Make sure all the computers can see each other and you can share files with each one of them and share printers as well. Another good thing to do is to make your 2k3 machine a web/ftp server. Create a small web page that says hello world, log into it through ftp and upload and download some files. Configure remote desktop and port forward it to your server on your router. You can use dyndns.org or no-ip.com for free to create a web domain. At the same time you can read some books to learn about networking protocols specifically TCP/IP to learn how your network at home works. I am sure SSI will provide you with a nice reading list as he did for me and a bunch of good advice. The best thing about experimenting at home then going to school is that you will be able to fly by all the intro courses and even know a bit when you get to the higher level courses by doing experimenting. One thing to remember though is you can't get cocky and close minded. I see a lot of people who think they know it all because they already know what the teacher is teaching. You will learn useful bits and pieces everywhere. If you have any questions send me a pm.

Swisher Trade Revisited (My how times have changed)
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) I in no way agree with him but Murph dubbed it the best Chicago trade of the last 10 years. if he was serious thats a pretty stupid comment. i mean not that marquez wont ever become anything but he hasnt done squat at the major league level. until he does, basically any deal kw has made that hasnt backfired is better. -
One thing I'd like to note is that he's very loyal to the sox. I don't believe he'd leave for more money. He had nothing but loyal comments when the media started asking him about his contract before it expired last time he re-signed. If the sox want him back, which I don't see why they wouldn't, he'll re-sign.

I would hate to see Crede in a Twins jersey, healthy or not. Especially since ex sox seem to kick the crap out of us.

Selig mulls action on A-Rod, HR mark
Whitewashed in '05 replied to joejoesox's topic in The Diamond Club
I agree with everything everyone is saying. Selig let this happen so he needs to shut up. It's really absurd to try to single out A Fraud. Just retire now Selig... wait those 17 million sure sound nice for another couple years.
