  1. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) Felix AL Cy Young. Well it's good to know the Cy Young award is still legit. Hopefully the Gold Glove can be fixed soon. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 03:33 AM) AL Gold Glove Voting For the Next Zillion Years - SS 1. Derek Jeter 989456 points 2. Charles Barkley 87 points 3. Ralph Nader 6 points etc. etc. etc. When the hell did you crawl out of your little hole?
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) Holy sh*t, Kevin Love Very good young player and very underrated (said that before his monster night before).
  3. Shame really. Had more overall raw talent than his college teammate Kinsler, and many thought BA would be the one who who not only make it, but have a solid career. Shows that not always the more talented player figures it out.

    Oh dear God

I hate all of you involved in this thread. Good stuff.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) 1st good thing John Scott has done all year. Pretty much. Though I did find it funny watching him break 3 sticks (1 from a slash) on his first three shifts on the ice. I love Stalberg BTW. One of my new personal favorite players.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) We could certainly use that talent at the forward position. What, you were getting tired of seeing Hendry and John Scott as forwards Steve?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) Rose has been closer to Ben Gordon than an all-star this year. One of the worst quotes in this thread. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 6, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) if you go by "PER", Rose is quite a bit ahead of gordon and is right behind one "Lebron James" so far this season. He absolutely needs to work on his defense. There's no question. But let's not go overboard here. Which is why at times PER is a flawed stat that should not be the end all be all. Turnovers is actually killing his PER this year. Pretty ironic considering Rose has taken the next step in his stats this year, not to mention has had better court vision and awareness in that ideal third year in the league. I haven't caught as many games this year as I would like thanks to work, but the couple I havw watched I can't wait to see what this Rose can do with Booz in the line-up.
  8. I might have to ask people to predict the game where Rajon Rondo actually gets less than 10 assists. Hell he hasn't even gotten less than 15 yet in a game early on.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) John Wall=Legit I'll bump this quote for truth. He's going to be ridiculously good in a couple years. Struggling with TO's (which is usual for a rookie and a pass first PG) but man.. Nearly had a triple double with 20 points 13 assists and 9 steals. I didn't think his scoring touch would improve this quickly, but it has.
  10. I personally believe he's gone, but I've never picked up on alot of our decision making so who knows.
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) I'm a believer in him, but we are just better and still young throughout the infield. Well it's not like Alexei is a baby. We'll see in time. I know you love Eduardo though.
  12. Timmy is gonna get f***ing crazy high all summer. I love it. Glad the misfits/outcasts won the W.S. Also very nice to see homegrown pitchers lead the way. (and Posey)
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) There is a big difference between a guy who appears to be a future stud based on minor league play, and a guy who is actually a defensive stud in the majors. You make it seem like its assured, but its really not. That's where Omar can be a help. I like Morel, but he's not a "stud with the glove" until he does it in the big leagues for a while. No he really is. I've watched the kid since college. It's not like he's gonna lose it. It's like saying Zimmerman was a stud since SUU and all of a sudden he's gonna lose it at the big league level. The reports are there. Were not comparing bats to translate here.
  14. Not a fan of it only because Ozzie will probably give him as many if not more at-bats this season. I think the year he had with us with the bat was more luck than anything. As long as his at-bats decrease (barring injury, or letting the kid Morel play) he's a fine glove off the bench. Morel is already a stud with the glove, so it's not like he's gonna help him much there. Hopefully Beckham can take the next step.
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) I wanna see if he'd work out in RF (I know Ace is with me on this) unless we get a lefty RF with a good glove. 100% yes, but they should had done it a while back IMO. His arm is essensially wasted at 1B, and Cubano has already said he played some corner OF in Cuba. (mostly 3B though) and his range was solid.

    i am drunk

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 31, 2010 -> 02:28 AM) Now that I'm in the burbs, I gotta say the late night Metra out of the city is a f***ing party. Some drunk ass mofos around. I was there.. but I was drunk when I got there so..
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Really? Johnson had a solid game last night? That's good to hear, I still want to get something out of that guy. We stress it enough (same with Tyrus) over the years Balta. When a young player actually plays consistantly, he can succeed. JJ has a much better future than Tyrus though, because his BBall I.Q. is much, much higher. JJ was really good last night. This is also why I was very vocal on the Bulls acquiring another shooter. Pre-season is much different than the games that matter. Those shots Bogans and Deng were making in the pre-season when no one was guarding them.. won't happen as often when players actually give a s***. I would say it was more just a bad game for them (though that is the inconsistancy with Deng that were used to seeing) than them not hitting what they can't hit. Still costing Rose 3-5 assists a game.
  18. In an odd way, I can't wait to hear what J4L thinks about this.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) I think there's about a 1% chance of that happening I wouldn't put it past Ozzie.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 11:31 PM) And I would never, in no way shape or form, ever do anything to a friend of mine's girl. It's one of my personal never do's. My personal bro code (one of many). I don't do anything if they are together or even broken up no matter how hot the chick is. I've even had females who would have been very tight lipped about it all along (together or not with my guy), and still never did it. Weirdest one though was something involving one of my best friend's mother, but that's another story.
  21. Sorry I got this in so late, but thanks for the b-day wishes fellas. Been totally busy with the new job that I haven't had the time to celebrate. I will make the drunkies proud cause this guy is getting destroyed starting tonight and this weekend. I also hate wite, qwerty, tru, j4l and tmar with a passion for not commenting on the importance of this thread. (Jas gets a pass)
  22. I'm actually impressed with the thought from you Blixton. I didn't think many here knew about Engel Beltre yet alone Profar and Font. (who I didn't even know) You should post more often in the minor league thread on the future sox board. Always good to have a legitimate poster who knows about prospects and evaluations. Wouldn't mind knowing if theres any guys in the minors who know/played with or against. And other than DA, I've been very adamant on trading Danks. I'd rather give up Floyd or Buehrle. That's how highly I think of him.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) He wont get the GG, but we all know he deserves it. He'll just be another statistic on guys who were robbed of it.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Does that make McCamey a huge douche as well? No idea on him. Turner has a rep though in Chicago since high school.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 11:45 AM) I read an article that mentioned the opposite from the coaching staff, so I think he is really just relaying the fans perspective after summer league. The coaching staff has said how hard working he is compared to their other players. The guy may not be a supreme athlete, but he's a workhouse that will make the most of his talent. Agreed 100%, but he is still a huge douche. Always has been. It's sad when Derrick Rose doesn't like you, and he is known as one of the easiest guys to get along with.
