The last thing this team needs is an all-or-nothing, base clogging power hitter like Eldred. He'd fit right into this lineup: Strikeout or homerun.
They need someone who can steal bases. If it's Owens, so be it.
One of my best friends is from Cedar Rapids. His parents house is fine, because its on a hilltop. But his brother's house got massive flooding. He compared it to New Orleans and a complete disaster.
The article in the Sun-Times states he never rehabbed after he was cut by the Dodgers and his velocity was down. Maybe he was just lazy. Depending on how Russell does, this could a spot that Kenny tries to trade for next month.
Usual lineup tonight:
OC, SS; AJ, C; Quentin, LF; PK, 1B; Thome, DH; Dye, RF; Swish, CF; Crede, 3B; Alexei, 2B.
Also some interesting notes from Reifert's blog on the past homestand:
a 7-0 homestand! Wow, when was the last time that happened?
Swish the 1st Sox to hit HRs from both sides in a game since Jose Valentin?
We are in great position with crappy teams coming up. Let's keep it up and bury all the teams in the division!!!

One very interesting aspect of tonight's game...
Nobody on the Sox struck out.
It's the first time it's happened since late 2005...
The day we clinched against Detroit.
Wow, even with Konerko and Thome in the same lineup? That is truly amazing.
