  1. Interesting that Manuel's Mets faces Jon Garland last night. I wonder if they said Hi to each other. Lol.
  2. LH starter + lots of changeups = fits for the lineup. Hopefully, last night was no fluke.
  3. So who backs up Swish at 1B in a pinch? Thome? Hall?
  4. Good luck to Manuel. He made some bad decisions, yes. But I hope he does well in NY,
  5. Hopefully Sox start a streak and go in hot against the Cubs. Still wish Carlos would drop lower in the order and move up JD. That's just me, though.
  6. Wang gone for 6 weeks, possibly the season for Yanks. Bet they try hard for CC now.
  7. The last thing this team needs is an all-or-nothing, base clogging power hitter like Eldred. He'd fit right into this lineup: Strikeout or homerun. They need someone who can steal bases. If it's Owens, so be it.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) Did anybody really expect him to get convicted? Not me. This news came with little shock.
  9. I'll be there tonight rooting them on. One of the best home records in baseball!! :headbang
  10. Report: There is a Juan Uribe sighting on the South Side.
  11. One of my best friends is from Cedar Rapids. His parents house is fine, because its on a hilltop. But his brother's house got massive flooding. He compared it to New Orleans and a complete disaster.
  12. The article in the Sun-Times states he never rehabbed after he was cut by the Dodgers and his velocity was down. Maybe he was just lazy. Depending on how Russell does, this could a spot that Kenny tries to trade for next month.

Game 2 walk off in the World Series. Nothing else matters. He should be getting cheers.
  14. If we play like this and get dominated by the Pirates and Rockies, then I'll complain. Still, losses like these are always hard to take.
  15. Slow day at work, so it's nice to be able to listen to the game. Although with Buehrle pitching, it will over with during lunch.
  16. Usual lineup tonight: OC, SS; AJ, C; Quentin, LF; PK, 1B; Thome, DH; Dye, RF; Swish, CF; Crede, 3B; Alexei, 2B. Also some interesting notes from Reifert's blog on the past homestand:
  17. a 7-0 homestand! Wow, when was the last time that happened? Swish the 1st Sox to hit HRs from both sides in a game since Jose Valentin? We are in great position with crappy teams coming up. Let's keep it up and bury all the teams in the division!!!
  18. First, gang piling onto Coco Crisp, now this? The Rays look like a bunch of punks.
  19. What is the point of having Uribe on the team at this point? Time for him to be DFA'd.
  20. Crede wants to accompany Carlos to the All-Star Game.
  21. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) One very interesting aspect of tonight's game... Nobody on the Sox struck out. It's the first time it's happened since late 2005... The day we clinched against Detroit. Wow, even with Konerko and Thome in the same lineup? That is truly amazing.
  22. I got to say hi to Don Cooper during the dog parade. Great victory for the Sox, too.
  23. I like the pick. Beckham at short, Richar at 2B (if he starts hitting) and Ramirez in CF. He also looks like Gavin Floyd's little brother.
