  1. I'll be there tonight with my dog out in the bleachers. My dog's Pick to Click: Paul Konerko.
  2. We once stayed at the same hotel as the Sox in the 90s, while they were in KC. Met Tim Raines, Dale Sveum and Ron Karkovice on 3 separate occasions in the hotel lobby. I also was in the elevator with Greg Hibbard. I also met Warren Newson and the Hawk on the same trip. My parents saw Roberto Hernandez and Frank Thomas in the hotel bar. My sister-in-law's friend used to work in the marketing dept. for the Sox. Used to go out drinking with Scott Sanderson, Robin, Ozzie & Steve Sax. and Kirk McCaskill. My brother bumped into Jamie Burke at the Neutral Zone in Westmont. I guess he was living with Buehrle at the time.
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:57 PM) Yeah but the question isn't "who played pretty well for the final 2 weeks of May" it's "who was the most productive player for the entire month of May." For as well as Alexei played over the final 15 games of May his line wasn't anything amazing (.308/.327/.481/.808, really good but not crazy productive) meanwhile Quentin was single handedly winning at least 8 games for the Sox over the course of 30 days and greatly exceeding Ramirez's productivity over a much larger timespan. That being said, I'm still not changing my vote.
  4. Alexei and Count. With consistent playing time, Ramirez is showing signs of being a productive and exciting player. Count is also showing signs of putting 2007 behind him. I wish there was a choice for DeWayne Wise, though.
  5. I've seen him in the NL, he's a pretty good hitter. Maybe he is replacing Thome or Konerko.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) Who has had the highest batting average in a season post-Ted Williams' .406? Gwynn .394 in 1994?
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) Joe DiMaggio holds the MLB record for consecutive games with a hit at 56 games. Who holds the NCAA Division I record for consecutive games with a hit at 58? Who was the pitcher in that game when it was snapped?
  8. Gavin will FINALLY get his NO-NO tonight. My projected lineup: Thome Konerko AJ Uribe Anderson Ramirez Crede Swisher Quentin BTW, I'm just kidding.
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 28, 2008 -> 10:32 AM) Dunkin Donuts Pulls Ad Featuring Rachael Ray In A Scarf That Looks Too Arab That. Hopefully, it was because Rachel Ray is annoying beyond all hell. But I don't think that was the reason.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) DFA Uribe.
  11. Do I really have to put that one in green?
  12. I see that ESPN has been doing a lot of voting this year for the All-Star game.

    Dinner

    what ever the wife makes. But over the weekend, we went to one of my favorites, L. Woods tap in Lincolnwood. Perhaps the best ribs I've had outside of Memphis.
  14. Paid to go to the pool and eat burgers. Fine by me!

    Home Brewed Java

    I hate the snooty, obnoxious personalities that congregate in Starbucks. I'm the old-school, Dunkin Donuts type of person.
  16. Just got back from SF today. Got to see the first 2 games (Alexei's 1st career HR, Gavin, Buehrle, Toby Hall actually getting 3 hits in a game).....all in all I got to see a great stadium with no sight of Bonds and come home and see the last two innings to complete the sweep. Great weekend. Keep it up Sox. There was A LOT of Sox fans. At least 1,000, if not more. I'm not exaggerating. It's great to see so many Sox fans spread out around the country.
  17. If i had to estimate, around 4200. A lot of variations of 80s, 70s and Alternative and Indie rock. My wife has a playlist that looks like you put a bunch of songs in a blender.
  18. Jay Leno can't retire soon enough
  19. SS2k5 summed it up pretty well. I especially like the "Why did we trade Chris Young" posts and the love/hate postings of Brian Anderson.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 12, 2008 -> 07:59 AM) Adenhart is the Angels top pitching prospect, but has been nothing special thus far. Look for him to have his breakout performance tonight, because the White Sox have not yet seen him. ala Ervin Santana, circa 2005.
