  1. I wonder if Frank would play 1B if we made it to the world series? David Ortiz did and that was a big plus for them so if we do get that far i hope he does.
  2. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ May 15, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) His point, and I'd have to agree, is that 30,000 is still 10K short of a sellout. A team with the best record in baseball, playing at home in a city of millions, should be selling out. Granted, I live in OK so I haven't been to a game yet so I usually try to stay out of these debates, but there's no question that there are plenty of people in Chicago to make up for my 2-3 tkts each night. Well its been cold for the whole series yesterday it was extremely windy so i think 37,000 on a real windy day is just fine, its time for people to figure we arent the cubs and arent going to sell out this early into the season unless we are facing the yanks, red sox, or cubs.
  3. he makes this article a day that attendence was 37,000 and the 2 games b4 that both close to 30,000..... Yeah maybe he was right before the baltimore series but fans obviously have been showing up now so the article is rather pointless.
  4. I just dont understand why Konerko gets cheered so much when he has sucked this year. Im not saying boo him but save the cheering for another player that deserves it more like Podsenick, Iguchi, Uribe, Everett, recently Rowand... all of our pitchers.
  5. I have a good feeling that Jose will pitch well today... anyways GO SOX
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 15, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) Adkins wouldn't be doing a whole lot better than Cotts right now. Adkins wasn't pitched in many close/tight ballgames last year -- he was the mop-up guy. His P (stat determining the overall pressure of the situation) was lower than Cotts' last year, meaning that Guillen didn't trust him in many close games. If they were to send down Cotts, I'd like to see Munoz or Baj get their shot... I think all the Adkins love comes from that one yankee game he pitched in at the begining of last season... when he shutdown the yanks for like 3 innings. But other than that outing he really didnt impress me at all last year.
  7. I think they need to improve the graphics and than the fielding and hitting could both be better.
  8. QUOTE(winodj @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) In some countries, dog=food. This is not one of those countries though... Im pretty sure they would be able to tell if the dog was in pain....
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 15, 2005 -> 03:42 AM) I don't know about putting those two in the same sentence... I meant about velocity going down since coming to Chicago... In terms of being good its obviously Garcia >>>>> Koch.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 15, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) Vizcaino. Politte. Garcia. Koch. Who else recently has lost velocity once joining the sox? I saw Politte hit 97 some last year and he sucked... Now I havent seen him hit that high but he has pitched a helluva lot better. Vizcaino is really 2 small of a sample size. Garcia and Koch :puke
  11. While this game was hard to watch.... We have to remember we are still 27-10 and in position to take 3 out of 4 from one of the hottest teams in baseball besides us. And to add in all the hate, I think the biggest mistake of the game was when Cora sent Konerko home... that was just dumb, i understand Cora is aggressive but that was more dumb than aggressive.
  12. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 14, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Jermaine Dye is struggling but so are other big names: Angel Berroa KCR, Jason Kendall OAK, Victor Martinez CLE, Michael Cuddyer MIN, Ruben Gotay KCR, Eric Chavez OAK, & Aaron Boone CLE. well Angel Berroa sucked last year and was sent to the minors, Kendall just switched leagues, cant explain V-Mart, Cuddyer first time he really been an everyday player, Gotay.. well he isnt a big name yet so dont know why say him, Chavez cant explain... and Aaron Boone wasnt even good his last healthy season in the yanks lineup. But in Chavez case... he still at least a gold glove fielder unlike Dye has been.
  13. No the record is impressive because it means that your always at some point in a game in position to win.... btw that broken bat single from Konerko was great especially since he stared at it like it was a HR lol.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Really.. and I know this will sound s***ty.. so many to name. Right now Jim and I know, and talk to on a regular basis, players on 11 different teams. Add in the retired ones he plays golf with and I bet we have both leagues covered. How did you get to know so many athletes? I knew you knew a lot of people involved with the sox but 11 other teams? Whats your secret
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 14, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Call me crazy, but I'm more concerned about the man's health above anything else... yeah thats what im thinking, the guy has a heart problem that is obviously really serious and could possibly ruin his career..... but lets just keep making jokes about him
  16. Chad Cordero was drafted as a closer wasnt he? and he sky-rocketed through the minors and is the nationals closer now.
  17. yeah the hitting was horrible lol.... They need to make a lot of improvements on the game if they want it to be good.
  18. What is the best is the dominance shown after that one innings.... Didnt Buehrle retire like the last 9 hitters he faced and Hermanson his only 3.
  19. just made an account now soxfan101
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 13, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) No. Garcia is the only one over .150 at .241. I remember watching Garland last year, he had some good swings but was robbed a couple of times... in that marlins series.
  21. I was always a Garland backer... dont believe me go check the list and yes that tejada ab was awesome
  22. I dont doubt KW will be looking for a trade.... but When Frank comes back Carl is going to want to start... and than we have Willie Harris who doesnt have a role with this team anymore really.... I think KW wants to keep Fields, Anderson, Sweeney, and B-Mac unless he gets blown away by a deal.
