  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) I love Anon: http://www.newsweek.com/id/109410 Although all of it is misinformation in that article, it's still funny to see them get front page press on MSNBC. Protests at every Scientology church nationwide on February 10th. I really hope they can bring the church down once and for all, and I believe they will. If I was in charge of security for scientology I would mess with these goofs. I would start by separating my web sites from my production network, it should be from the beginning anyway. Then I would take a version of my site, and hire 10 different hosting facilities around the US to host this. I would set the ttl for my zone to expire every 10 seconds, and then would setup round robin DNS for the resolution for my site. When they attack, it would spread across the 10 sites while my network is not getting touched. After these douches are sending their attacks into the abyss you can put up another site that says COS 1 - Script Kiddies 0. If you really want to have fun, call the FBI and give them permission to tap everyone of these sites as you have received a CyberTerrorism threat. When the FBI catches the script kiddies who run this you can then go back to having your site up, and you can laugh at them in person when they get sentenced.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:20 PM) This is the moment Ron Paul has been waiting for. You know another internet money bomb post will be here soon. Then we will ask why is Kucinich, sorry I mean Paul, is still in the race. Then we will get a few Sheep pics and maybe the typical "Well you don't know Ron". After this we will get the usual " I suggest you go to his site and sign up for his Election Pod. once you receive the pod in the mail, sleep on it the following night. Once you wake up, you will feel fresh and new and not like your old self. You will be able to give all to Ron Paul. He only has 14 more million dollars to go to take 3rd place. The 3 delegates he has are frisky and cant wait to bring the message of paul to the convention. Hail Ron Paul leader of the universe."
  3. QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) STOP MAKING UP LIES ABOUT JUAN URIBE! HE OBVIOUSLY WOULD NEVER DO THAT YOU INSENSITIVE TWIT, GROW UP! Because it's A1 steak sauce he covers his naked body with after every game, not BBQ. I wonder how sick Juan gets after a night of that mixed in with his between innings attacks of cakes and pie. God he probably pops tums like other baseball players pop sunflower seeds.
  4. Hawk has always been a homer, and he has always been a guy who has nicknamed players. Thats not my issue with Hawk. Hell if he just kept to that he would be just fine. Its what he has recently turned into. The constant b****ing on the TV about how all of the umps have a personal vendetta with the sox is a disgrace. His start of the home run call only to watch the CF come in a few steps to catch an easy fly ball is almost Santo like. His new catch phrase of Daggumit and then 10 minute tirade on how all of the outs we had were crushed crisp line drives, and how the opposition had duck farts that just found the one space that the sox were not is also too much. His tit for tat thing with Kotex boy is over played.
  5. Well I guess my TVs mute button will have more work over the next 4 years.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) Because he is. So is the entire Democratic Party. Now, let me be clear. It's not "socialist" like "communist", but it certainly is socialist when you: want government health care continue to grow government control on damn near everything that breathes let's expand government entitilements on everything we can (sense a theme yet?) Again, why does the government have to take care of us? It should be us taking care of ourselves. Oh wait, I forgot, no one wants personal responsibility anymore, that's Uncle Sam's job. And there is that whole democratic thing of redistributing wealth by taxing the living crap out of people who they deem rich and redistributing that to the lower class. Thats a bit socialist don't you think.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Can I vote today in the democratic primary even though I'm not a registered democrat? Yes you can in Illinois. In Illinois as long as you are registered to vote you can vote. When you go in, they will ask you to declare your party. You will be given a ballot for that party only and then you can vote. The only thing this does is that the party you choose becomes part of the election record. So down the road the democratic or republican party can pull the precinct sheets to see what you affiliate yourself with, so they can either target, debate or ignore you for campaign literature. Growing up I did a lot of work for the Democratic party in Chicago and spent a lot of time pulling those sheets for going door to door, and putting signs out. I have voted most of my young adult life as a democrat, and have moved over to republican as I have gotten older(crazier ), there was no process. Just show up, have them pull your signature card, write what party you want to vote for, and sign your name.
  8. This has to be my favorite political commercial of all time.
  9. QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) Fock you guys. Keep on living like sheep. "he has good ideas, but he stopped being relevant about 60 seconds after he opened his mouth." not to compare him to Jesus, but to a lesser degree there is a correlation. At least you are keeping the crazy up for more than appearances.
  10. I await the day when Paul slips back into the anonymity of nothingness. Raising this type of money just to have a man make crazy comments and goofy faces while not have any chance of winning is wasteful. You would be better of giving that money to Cancer Research or some other good cause. These Internet bombs are in the same spirt as the emails from Nigeria telling you of riches of the prince if you only give them your savings account number. In the end you lose your money, and it doesnt go to anything. Here are few of the Paul supporters who state they are taking over the Republican party. These are the same goofs who chased after Hannity screaming obscenities. Luntz is not the reason that Paul is losing. Neither is fox news. Its because people dont connect with his message.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) JR will never allow KW to go over draft slot for a bonus, because JR and his bunch of owners want to keep salaries down for draftees. There was never a chance that we would draft a guy overslot. That fact won't change no matter how much we cry about it. Berating the same point doesn't change that. Well with the number 8 pick, Kenny has been telling us we will pick the best talent. The top ten should be littered with Boras clients as well as other expensive guys. Will we pick up a top 10 talent, or try to pass off a late round reach as gold next year.
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:20 PM) I don't understand this desire to go get Crisp, Pierre, Patterson or the like at this point. For one thing, does anyone really think its worth lowering the team OBP significantly (which is what would happen), just to have a more prototypical leadoff hitter? That makes zero sense. And second, at least in the case of Pierre and Patterson, we already have that guy on the team for a lot cheaper. This team really has only one big need at he major league level at this point - one more solid SP. Any other "needs" or issues, like not having a prototypical leadoff hitter, being weak at backup C, that sort of thing... is just not worth investing a lot in right now. The reason is simple. People have this romantic idea that the 2005 offense was some juggernaut that was feuled by speed, and guile and small ball. That only a bantam weight speedster ala Pods at the top of the lineup can fuel this team's offense. Now I know the DVD portrays that theory. But in reality, it was a rotten offense that had some guys swing for the fence and crank some homers, while the pitching was out of this world. The reason we won 99 games was that our pitching kept the other team from scoring a lot of runs. If we had a mediocre staff in 05, we win low 80s in games with that rotten offense. Supposedly by Guillen and Williams OBP is the new buzzword and the bantam weight track star is not something he is looking for. Now if Quentin is healthy, it should be Quentin in RF, Swisher in CF, and Dye in LF. Now Ozzie has started his Owens is proving me something crap, which means that in the end his fascination with the bantam weight track star is more important than getting on base. Hopefully he resists this, and puts the correct lineup out there.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) If Poreda turned out to be a fireballing lefty reliever (Matt Thorton version 2006, making the comparison for the umpteenth time), I think Sox fans should be pretty happy. I know it sucks that we didn't draft Porcello, but folks need to bear in mind that the expected value of a pick in the mid-20s isn't all that great. Getting a quality setup man obviously wouldn't be ideal, but it certainly wouldn't be something to be ashamed of. In fact, a smart move might be to let Poreda start for the first half of the year and then turn him into a reliever in July -- that would limit his innings and, if Kenny is right and this team is good enough to compete, there's a chance Poreda could help the team out in August or September. Keith if Porcello was off the board at that pick sure Poreda is what you get. But he was on the board, and with the absolute sucktatude our minors have been Porcello would of easily been our top prospect, and it would be nice to see a sox prospect at 11. Which means either he has perceived value for trades(see Cabrera) or real value see Verlander. We didnt want to go over slot, and passed on the better talent. Hopefully with the 8th pick this year we dont fall into the same trap.
  14. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) what about if porcello fizzles out? Well any of them could fizzle out, but Porcello is ranked as the 11th top prospect overall. This guy has all the earmarks of a top of the rotation stud. Its a wait and see on this, but I would rather have Porcello right now just based on projections and health.
  15. Well Billary is back on her sympathy routine. Last night she was interviewed on CNN, and they started this conversation about how Obama slighted Clinton by not shaking her hand. She said she was shocked that he would do that and she was just trying to be a good sport. The shot is funny, because it looks like Obama is talking to someone in the front of him and didnt see her handshake. But the Clinton News Network and Billary spin artists are trying to make this into something its not. Using a still photo and a pouty look from the devil to make it look like Obama was being mean to Hill. Poor wittle BIllary, the big bad man didnt want to shake her hand, it must be because he is mean and doesnt like women. Women of the world unite for me or I may cry. Sympathy and sadness as tricks of the Clinton campaign.
  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 06:44 AM) Mike North is on the radio right now telling everyone that he would rather have Bedard over Santana because Santana went 15-13 last year and Bedard went 13-5(on a bad Orioles team). The guy is completely delusional Well we had a poster on this site say they would rather have Buerhle than Johan.
  17. The idea of the cubs facing either the two headed monster of Haren and Webb or facing Santana twice in a short series is too delicious to think about. Wait till these goofs and their "Its going to happen crap" starts up again when they win a crappy division only to get decked in the first round. Just imagine a nice 8 inning 14K Santana masterpiece at the dump on the North Side.
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) I'm hearing, fwiw, that the DNC will in fact allow the Florida delegates to vote at the convention due to the turn out. Considering Florida is a swing state, it might be a major screw up if the party says, thanks for making the effort to vote but we are going to ignore your vote. This is a huge f*** up. How do you tell the candidates, well there are no delegates and please dont run ads. Then when a certain former first lady wins, she decides that the rules shouldnt apply to her, and that she must fight for the little person so she can get every single delegate. You either have the states delegates sit, and you have a full election where everyone is well informed of whats at stake or you dont. This crap that Billary keeps pulling is a f***ing mess. The more this bulls*** games are thrown out, the more I hate that woman and her jerkoff husband.
  19. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 10:10 PM) Agreed on that. I'm just killing time at home, and was messing with my page and figured I'd see what my fellow soxtalkers had. I know. I never had either and dont think I will.
  20. It gives me great happiness to know that I block these sites at work.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) And the non-partisan speech from the President sounded like that from the other side. Kinda remarkable, don't you think? God I hate this dance, where each side comes out and just gives a laundry list of things that they care about or want to do for an hour. It's just silly. You know what I'd rather see, is the President coming out and giving a full speech, whether it's just 15 minutes or whatever, on one topic of importance. Like the one big goal he wants to get done this year. Set one policy goal and say this is what I'm going to do, outline a plan, give all the specifics, and use the time to convince me it's worth the effort. I'd find that more interesting and valid than the list of things that we ought to do and applause lines. I was poking fun at the fact that she had first stated how this wasnt a democratic response, and this was just the people responding. The SOTU is silly. Watching one side stand up and clap like jackasses while the other side sits with a piss face. Its bad on both accounts. Then making comments that are so obvious. We the American people are against famine, farting in the wind, and the tragedy in Darfur. Wow really against genocide, what a novel prospect. The applause and jackassery that this event is about is so silly.
  22. Odd this non-partisan America's based speech by the Kansas gov sounds like all talking points from the democratic literature.
  23. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) Is Bush walking around in the crowd signing autographs now? lol i don't remember seeing a president do that before Actually they all do that. I have seen that before.
  24. This speech left me a bit sad. This president had a chance to be great. He was given a great opportunity, had his moment of unity and in a short period of time he systematically destroyed it and swindled a golden opportunity to become one of the better presidents. His advisors and his circle of trust was supposed to be his strength. It turned out to be his downfall.
  25. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) haha
