Peter's apparently didnt recognize Pads were pitching aroung him after the pickoff to get to Acuna.

Dont see where this applies. They got rid of McGuire apparently before his full season salary kicked in. So yes the opposite applies getting a better younger player for less which is a good thing.

Needs to be said even if the Sox don't win today. West coast road trip, perhaps the 3 biggest crowds in a 3 game series they will face all year because of the weekend dates , Padres playing well and perhaps Mune Mania. They are doing very very well with a chance for the 🧹.

I've been saying I predicted 77 wins but when I rechecked the prediction thread. I said 76. I also threw in another prediction that aged extremely well. I said this team is way better opening day even with the injuries to Teel, Vasil and Baldwin, than last year and the 7-23 start and I expected the Sox to come close to doubling that win total by the end of April. They did double it. And there's still minor lesgue talent and players who will be returning from injuries. If they dont lose Colson or Mune for any long stretches then the next biggest key is consistency in all facets of the game and translating that to wins against division opponents. That part of the schedule hasnt even started yet execept for 4 games we split in KC , which was a good sign considering how much they sucked vs KC last year.

It's a good dream. It'll have to wait a bit longer. I don't think some time in June is out of the question. Maybe after the TDL. Hopefully Teel can get back in the lineup by Mid to late May .

No doubt at all he made a mistake jst didnt like the term "dressing down". Thats like getting in a guys face and making him fel bad for something he feels bad about already. You dont want to reinforce or make that bad feeling last. Relief pitching in high leverage situation , they always say you need a short memory to bounce back and get them next time to pitch late inning relief.

He looks better than last year and he's still just 23.Look how long it took Randy Johnson to become a good pitcher. Pitchers and catchers need time . This is still almost the youngest team in baseball. 1st or maybe 2nd youngest ?

Doubt that. Everything blows up when it deserves to be blown up and even some stuff that doesnt deserve it. If there's even a whiff of controversy it blows up.

My 1st choice was to take him out @tray because you could have him to pitch tomorrow but I supported the decision because you could figure either decision was sound. You still have to make development decisions with Taylor. They're trying to get him to pitch more innings . Seemed like a good opportunity to try it again with a 4 run lead. Got a little tense but ultimately it all worked out. Tomorrow will be a challenge though. That's life in the big leagues.

Oh I know what you meant but did that happened in the 8th or 9th. Thought it was the 8th then the DP so it amounted to nothing. Venable says something maybe like thats why we have PFP's but he knew right away had made a mistake.. Plus the term "dressing down" is not part of the game anymore. Its very old school way of discipline and harsh criticism rather than encouraging instruction.

Doubtful any team mate is going to "dress him down" . Taylor is not a finished product. These guys pat each other on the butt and his 8th was clutch. You just say hey you did great and move on.

Serantony's 8th save is more than any Sox pitcher last year. Leasure had 7 to lead the team.

That whole inning was small ball deluxe .No hard contact at all. Peters walk, Beni bunt hit, Mune weak ground out advances the runners and Vargas flare for the 2 RBI.

Starting pitching 7th best in MLB , 2nd since April 3rd.

Long way to go.Could be a valuable relief guy for playoffs. You dont trade possible core pieces now. You cant give away a valuable arm and hes not established enough to get very much. What's powered this win streak is the pitching , starting and relief and the hitting finally got in sync.
