  1. Getting harder to follow the Eloy Saga . So Tuesday would be tomorrow which is a week later than the original tweet that said he could be ready last Tuesday. Then he will have 20 days from whenever his new rehab assignment is designated to start which pushes that date to July 11 if he does actually start his assignment tomorrow. (which is 50/50) !
  2. Healthy players are used in case of injury. It's stupid to play a man short. All this paranoia about TLR is just silly . There's no reason to shortchange the team.
  3. Kopech gave the water cooler a little punch with his right hand after leaving the game.
  4. If you want to know why unmute it damn it . Kid who caught the 1st HR of Manaiwhoever career wanted a JV jersey . Astros said no . Then a Gurriel jersey again Astros said no. They settled on something else then it turns out Verlander said he would sign a jersey for the kid.
  5. Maybe. Think of this as him getting a feel back for his stuff while pitching with a sore knee. He may discover he can let it rip a little more next time.
  6. SO no Verlander jersey no deal fuckers lol and no to the 2nd deal fuck off even more.
  7. Astro's record is insanely good when they hit 2 or more HR's. I suppose that might be true of any team but for a good team it'll always be better.
  8. McGuire probably swung but that camera angle they were saying he swung on is not one to use to determine it.
  9. Um yes you do Tony because he gets more time to recover that way and why play a player short by not IL'ing him ? It's not like he's a superstar and needed back in less than 10 days. The Sox have basically been without him for a while now because of his bat.
  10. Thing is with baseball if you are a great player you can have both halves of a season go well. If you aren't a great player sometimes a great 1st half means the 2nd half might not go as well. Good 1st half usually means a guy was healthy . Bad 2nd half usually means isn't healthy. Find a good player with a bad 1st half who is totally healthy and not too old and hope for a rebound in the 2nd half. That type of player will cost less than the good 1st half player. Lower your standards on your filters in both WRC+ and PA's. Look for a guy who may be getting healthy and who can rebound in the 2nd half. There aren't just 5 guys out there who could potentially help the Sox.
  11. Oh Foster on bereavement list and hmm I seem to have forgotten him when I said who was available to pitch middle innings 3 hrs. ago.
  12. Sounding like a used car salesman there buddy. Near guaranteed is what percent of guaranteed ?
  13. Ok I'll assume Davis is not going to be used in relief then. Sousa Banks Ruiz and Lambert for middle innings oh my.
  14. Often when he plays it's for defensive purposes and a game when the Sox have the lead or against lefties when he starts . It's something but just doesn't mean as much as it looks like it does.
  15. Bummer and Crick on IL. Have you heard Hendriks is available ? Is Davis Martin available because if he's not that leaves Lambert, Banks, Sousa, Ruiz, Graveman and Kelly and maybe one of Lambert, Banks, Sousa or Davis is being sent down if the Sox announce Haseley for Moncada and a pitcher for Kopech.
  16. I know and this will be archived soon lol. And you didn't say lineup construction you said match ups and specifically mentioned hitting. All of April the Sox had 2 guys hitting ANderson and Vaughn. The rest sucked ass. May it got a little better Anderson , Robert ,Vaughn and Abreu. Abreu started May hot but then went 2 for his next 28 and didn't get hot again til May 16th. June the whole team seemed to start hitting even the scrubs except Sheets and Leury but that's when the BP got worn out and BP injuries started piling up with Lynn still missing and Kopech coming out of a game earlyand Velasquez, Bummer and Kelly injured .I mean I'm no TLR apologist but he's dealt with a lot of suck and a lot of injuries.
  17. That song was the sweetest sugary pop way of making a song about sex in the afternoon . John Denver was so proud of that band.
  18. Not really because there clearly needs to be some kind of obsession with it because Hahn keeps failing to get any good LHH position players when they are sorely needed. Plus if TLR was really in charge of some of our acquisitions how obsessed can he really be if the Sox didn't get any LHH this off season. No one really expected the drop off of Moncada and Grandal and a terrible start by the RHH . Plus all the injuries led to Leury being in the lineup more than he ever should have been. Sheets was in the lineup a lot and doing poorly when everyone else was also. Injuries in the BP left the Sox with a lot of unqualified arms and tired arms in the pen. An obsession would imply you could probably name dozens of such instances when he shouldn't have played a match up , not based on the results of the match up but why it was a poor decision before he made it. I'm not really sure which instances of obsession you are referring to so it's difficult to answered your query. An obsession would imply you could probably name dozens of such instances where playing match ups was idiotic. Most managers play match ups. Hitters become switch hitters to take advantage of match ups. Relief pitchers becoming a thing and slowing down the game was playing match ups until MLB took some of that away from managers by making the 3 hitter rule. But you did say hitting so maybe you should be limited to giving me instances of hitting obsessions that are somehow not related to trying to get a bat going or injury related which are things all managers deal with. Let's face it the Sox are mediocre right now because of injuries all over the 25 man roster and terrible hitting until the last few weeks and just a lot of bad and tired arms in the pen when the hitting was coming around with Kelly, Crochet, Velasquez and Bummer all missing. You can pin a lot of things on TLR but he's only working with what he's been given and when players are bad, decisions turn out bad. A manager is only as good as his players make him look. He's in the Hall of Fame not because he's some genius manager but because he stuck around a long time and managed some teams filled with great players like most managers in the Hall.
  19. Clearly you don't believe in jinx's . I though you started something with Afternoon Delight !
  20. Dude , he's 36 and RH so who you going to cut Engel , who is younger , faster and a better fielder ? Cain -.6 fWAR , Engel .2 fWAR . Pollock's been tearing the cover off the ball for the last month. Haseley is 10 yrs younger and LH and he doesn't have a spot on the Sox. Edited to say: Looks like Haseley is coming up after a torrid last month in Charlotte. Probably replaces Moncada when he's IL'd.
  21. Also that Mendick has stepped up for TA, Burger for Moncada and even McGuire and Zavala for Grandal Chew on this. McGuire the last 30 days is 15 for 43 , .349 .404 .442 .846 Zavala since his call up .313 .294 .563 .857
