MiLB: Top 200 Power Rankings 2018
This is from MLB Trade Rumors who use Roster Resource. https://www.rosterresource.com/milb-power-rankings/ This is based on performance only in several weighted categories . no upside involved. The explanation at the top of the chart explains it all. Sox players are #13 Eloy Jimenez, #17 Michael Kopech, #25 Dylan Cease, #96 Luis Gonzalez, #139 Blake Rutherford Tampa Bay had 10, Oakland 8, SD 10, Toronto 14, I didn't count every team and I don't know if there's a place to find it broken down by team. I didn't intend this when I found this but are we over ranking our prospects based on upside ? I know a lot of injuries and made guys like Dunning and Hansen who were high on this list last year disappear from this years . Of course there are also others who might've been ranked somewhere if not for injuries also. Last year had 11. Kopech, 14 Hansen, 64. Dunning, 158. Eloy At some point don't we need to see numbers to feel better about prospects ability to be major leaguers ? The only other Sox i could find in the top 200-300 were Mendick, Rivera and Sheets based on weighted performance again. Here's the list of all the rosters with all players . You can find if they were ranked just by looking at each roster . I don't know how high the ranking went but you can see some guys in the 700 range. https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-chicago-white-sox Pretty useful tool though.

"If the Sox are truly looking to build the most powerful prospect plumbing possible, then it's time to widen the pipes " Or they need to upgrade from PVC pipe to copper.

Latest Fangraphs Prospect Rankings
No it wasn't. 50 walks in 124 innings across 2 levels this year. If my math is right it's just a a little over 3.6 walks per 9. You generally didn't hear about his walks because he didn't give up many hits per 9 which is why he had an outstanding WHIP of .99 in AA .

Baseball Mt. Rushmore by decade, according to Soxtalk
You could certainly make a very strong argument for Barry Bonds as your LHH for the 1990's or 2000's . Not every players career lines up perfectly within a decade but Bonds won 3 MVP's in the 1990's and got MVP votes every year for all 10 years. You could also make the argument that in the 90's Bonds was drug free. Then in the 2000's when his appearance from whatever he was on made him a joke he won 4 MVPs in a row and broke the single season HR record and put up some of the most obscene OPS numbers and SLG % ever and that was only in half a decade . 2005-2007 (his age 40-42 seasons he never had over 500 PA's but still had incredible OBP 's of .454 and .480 . 2008 he was a free agent at age 43. No one signed him despite his great numbers the last 2 years because he was making a mockery of the game with his roid or HGH usage and no one wanted that headache. Not wanting roiders is all very noble but leaves open the debate of who exactly was roiding. Bond's was never convicted of anything despite 10 yrs of intense pressure.

Always good to see you reappear Cy. When Don Buford and Ken Berry were your best hitters your offense was in trouble but those teams showed you just how far pitching and defense can take you.

Taking a hiatus at the end of the baseball season
I'll never take a hiatus from baseball. I took one from paying for it on TV but that's all. Besides I got Roku now and I'm liking the MLB channel where I can name my fav team and then watch all the in game highlights that you find on gameday only with less commercials on Roku and a whole lot of highlights from Statcast, interviews and whatnot, on a bigger screen then my computer while also being able to watch the free game of the day. Now I'm hoping that the MLB.TV package for one team drops in price from $89.99 . Still seems a little high when you consider all the different ways for people to watch now on devices like roku, amazon etc. Seems like MLB will be raking in money with all the new ways to watch games. Once those kind of services because the norm satellite and cable are going to have to make major programming changes or become dinosaurs. Watched an interview with Palka on a segment called The Edward Jones Batting Cage where they had people either write in questions for him or actually get on screen and ask them and I know one of them on screen was a soxtalk guy. MySoxSummer and one who wrote in maybe was too ,whitesoxjon .

He's just becoming a better hitter over all hitter. He still hasn't had a season with 300 AB's yet. He should make it this year.
