  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 08:22 PM) Is Danks our Bruce Chen? Guess you liked that Cy Danks comment I made in the game thread and yes he is .
  2. That's why I didn't want Saladino bunting . Was hoping he could get an extra base hit while Volquez was still in there.
  3. Hard to believe Volquez is still out there. I thought he was losing his command last inning.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 07:36 PM) Nicely done by Ventura. Robertson the 8th, and Montas the 9th? HA you're funny.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) Only at 90ish pitches, I think they give him another inning, then Montas Montas ? No way unless the Sox are up by 5.
  6. Give Danks his due against his favorite patsies . Do KC fans call him Cy Danks ?
  7. Rios looks different , thinner. Anybody else think so ?
  8. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) 41st time in 87 games played this year the Sox have scored three runs or less. That's 56.3% of their games. Incredible. Another fan asked "when will this team start hitting?" Given that over half a season is in the books the probable answer is "not this year." As Kenny would say, "it is what it is..." Actually it's 47.1264367816 % . 41 is not even half of 87 so it can't be over 50% unless you put in a wrong number in your post somewhere.
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 08:01 AM) i can understand you point and you do make a good one. but i rather give Sale that little extra rest. ref bold 1. a month???? bold 2. Sale is saying the right things. he is not the boss. bold 3, it is this series. the future???? I don't know the exact times he's been allowed to rest or DL'ed for precautionary measures , but I'd say its been a month or close to it every year for the past 3 years. I agree he is not the boss. Yes the future . You want the Sox to get to the playoffs every year while Sale pitches don't you? So far it hasn't happened and the Catch 22 question will remain. How do the Sox make the playoffs while they also rest Sale risking critical games in a pennant race ? And if they do reach the playoffs how can Sale handle the load with only one 30 start season under his belt so far ?
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) SO you're saying dont swipe and pose? Swiping is good , just throwing a glove down then acting like you got him isn't.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) 8-1 with a 2.73 I thought so . Thanks and you seem more down than I've ever seen you on the Sox.
  12. Nice throw Soto . That's how u tag a guy not just throw your glove down but go after the runner.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 01:43 PM) No chance Danks gives up less than 6 runs. He's historically good though against the Royals isn't he ?
  14. Good job la Rock . Look at 2 strikes then swing at the ball you have to know is coming.
  15. Alexei needs an extra base hit to score LaRoche.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:58 PM) Hopefully Yost lets Young pitch a little longer since its a double header and the Sox strike quickly. Nope Madson in.
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:55 PM) Now we have to score at least 2 more runs against the best bullpen in baseball Hopefully Yost lets Young pitch a little longer since its a double header and the Sox strike quickly.
  18. Come on Alexei dive into that runner to make the tag !
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:55 AM) Both of those CS were blown calls. One maybe, if its 2 like you say then Robin is at fault for not asking for a review of the 1st one ?
  20. Only game going on now I think and yet it took so long and the y blew the call unless they think Avi got tagged on the arm before the tag on the waist, but other wise it's SOS ( same old Sox). 2 lead off walks 2 outs on the bases.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 07:15 AM) One of the new writers on SoxNet is Mark Liptak, who has been writing on the White Sox for decades and is a pretty big name. He's got his first SoxNet piece up - Part 1 of a three part series on What Ifs over the history of the team. Here is this first chapter. Next chapter will take us from the 60s to Sportsvision. You should all consider subscribing to SoxNet too! Interesting article. I had read somewhere the Sox also had 2 shots at getting Babe Ruth , one before he became a Red Sox and the other getting him after the Red Sox decided to get rid of him.. Maybe Liptak will also write about that "what if " . Those two shots : http://southsideshowdown.com/2012/09/21/ba...cago-white-sox/ and http://whitesoxcards.blogspot.com/2009/07/...-white-sox.html
