I wish they still let Buehrle do the tarp dive. With the exception of today, he's never been the same since.
-
Damn, I'm going to miss Entourage now.
-
since he came into the league and who's in the top 5 in that same time span. I remember it being on ESPN and Crede was in the lead with Pujols I believe, but that was at least a month ago.

QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ May 16, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) They could build it on the south shore where the old US Steel plant was. This is an area that could use a huge shot in the arm. They could rebuild LSD So. and run water taxis in and out of down town. If this was the proposed site, I would be all for it. This part of Chicago could use it. By the times the games rolled around the entire area would be as happening as Lincoln Park. All the way up and down the So shore there are old buildings that would make an awesome investment. US Steel. I think that's too far south in the city. I'm pretty sure they want to keep it centralized.

Report: Dolan to buy out Larry Browns contract

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 15, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) Yeah, I know. Gordon scored more points per game and shot a higher percentage from 3 land in his first 2 seasons than Miller did in his first 2. Damn Skippy! Seriously, all that good stuff that Jamal was finally starting to learn down the crapper with Isiah running that zoo. Guarentee you he goes back to his chucking/no defense ways. I predict at least 3 fights next year within the team. As far as Gordon being traded, Pax would have to be stupid to do any of those trades. Since we already have an oppurtunity to swap picks with the Knicks(which we will do), we'd essentially be trading Gordon for a bad contract(a hot-headed person too) and our own draft pick(which won't be needed). -
Not worth it. I love the guy, seriously, but I doubt the Twins trade him to the division, BA's glove is what makes him great, and BA is our 9 hitter. KW might look into it if he can rip off the Twins, but that happening is very very very doubtful.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 12, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) You dont like Rowand, alot of people do. Get over it. I'm just saying or am I allowed to make countless threads on Frank Thomas and Robin Ventura and hell, even Mike Caruso?
-
Why is there even 3 threads in the "Pale Hose" section about Rowand? This is getting worse than the Jeremy Reed days.
-
I like BA. I really don't care for Aaron. Rather have Gio back first.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 12, 2006 -> 07:07 AM) How about making the stadium w/ 80,000 seats, and then scale it back to about 40,000 after the games and give the Sox a new ballpark. The Cell will be 25 years old by the time the Olympics are over. I don't see that happening. I WANT A SECOND FOOTBALL TEAM! AND A FINAL FOUR

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) I am not sure that is really possible. Its already a steep, tight stadium for 55k. I think changing Soldier to be 80k would be a wee bit challenging, engineering-wise, if not downright impossible (short of starting over). They'd probably have to remove the columns, Beers( ) would have to move to Urbana again for a year, and the place would probably look like even more of a spaceship. And for anyone who thinks the Cell's upperdeck was steep, you'd be scared s***less.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) Interesting! I never thought of there. According to Google Maps, there is a huge area just south of UIC (near Ashland and Roosevelt) where we could fit a stadium with all the needed parking. PLus the Blue line is right there. Makes sense to me! PS: How do you knwo so much about all this? I've been researching it.

My brother was going to pay $160 for 6 months at a gym(I think it was Gold's), but I opted to go half and half with him on a bench press, 300 Olympic-sized Weights, a curl bar, and dumbells. Cost us $360 and it's Gold's Gym equipment. I'm pretty sure the lady did the pricing wrong because it was all only $320 and we expected it to be around $400 when looking at the prices.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 9, 2006 -> 05:44 AM) Here is the new PS3 controller I hope that little thing can take a beating, because controllers generally do. Actually, that was the old remote they were going to use up until everyone hated it. Now they just have a DualShock remote, but without the shock. No vibrations in their controllers. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ May 10, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) 500 for the 20 gig hardrive But the 500 dollar one dosent have wifi or a memory card slot either. or HDMI ports. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) 1st, I don't believe you can use the Sony PlayStation 2 controllers on PS3. The new PS3 controllers will not have rumble(absolutly terrible choice, I know), and will have to be wireless. 2nd, PSP is getting a redesign as well, so both companies deserve some critisism is that area(Even though I admit I'll be picking up the DS Lite when it hits). There will be no rumble on the PS3 remotes because they were sued by the company who came up with the vibration technology. Same goes with Microsoft, but they ended up settling out of court and Microsoft purchased the tecnology. If the PS3 wasn't so expensive to make, then they probably would've included this, but the PS3, with it's $600 tag, will be selling at a $100-$200 deficit. And I believe you could use the PS2 remotes(though don't quote me on this). The new remotes will be wireless(bluetooth technology), but you'll also be able to plug them in.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) I like the idea all around, but the 80k stadium will be the end of it. No current stadium could be retrofitted to make that number. And lets think about this - spend about a BILLION dollars for a new stadium that would be used for the Olympics and, well, thats about it. We aren't getting another NFL team, so what else do you use it for? The occasional really huge outdoor concert? Not much other use, really. So as much as I like the idea of the Olympics here, I don't think it will happen. I shall answer this. Okay, well first off, the stadium would be put on or near the UIC Campus. University Village will also expand and be known as "Athletes Village". The 80,000 stadium would be used for the Olympics of course, and to host huge events, such as the Super Bowl, the Final Four, huge concerts, etc. This alone would draw huge revenue. Also, not everyone in Chicago is a Bears fan. I sure as hell am not. I'm not a Packers of Colts fan either. If it were up to me, I'd implode Soldier Field, change the colors of the team to purple and yellow and move the team to Alburqerque. I'm with southsider. Let's get the Olympics, please!!!!!! It'll do soo much good for the city. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) The whole reason that the remodel of Soldier Field had such a low capacity was to try to keep the historical standing of it... now that it is gone, why not just expand it to 80K+ God knows they could sell the tickets for the Bears anyway. Because expanding it would cost mucho dinero and it wouldn't be able to pay for itself unless a roof was put on it. A retractable roof at least would be put on the new stadium allowing it to host such events as the Super Bowl and the Final Four. I'd love to see both held in Chicago. The thought of it makes me drool.

QUOTE(credeisamazing @ May 2, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) ok we lost. c'mon guys, get over it. i mean, yeah, it's hard to take a loss after a late game win. have faith in our players. we're 18-8. that's a good record right now. just believe in the team I have faith in the team. I'm just saying. I'm not saying Buehrle sucks. Half of the pitchers in the majors can't even get through crappy teams. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=826666 Last year it was true. Especially at that frame of time. Garland has better stuff and will be more of an ace than Buehrle. If Garland s***s on himself, it's because he f***ed up. If Buehrle f***s up, it's usually because the team he's facing or the situation. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 2, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) What exactly did you say about Buehrle? That Garland was the real ace? Count is the real ace. I said Buehrle doesn't pitch well in high pressure games and/or against teams with good offenses. Guys like Contreras can shut them down. Buehrle regularly can't hold his own against them.
