Eh. That guy lost 2 years to the immigration process. Not like he was struggling in lower minors. But yes he is a white Sox prospect so it is unlikely. -
I did one tracking his free agent signings. It took so long not sure I have interest in updating 4 more years lol

The thing about ditching Ruiz, is yes he is bad. But bad was better than what we had in AAA. His arm is still good, and he’s been fine in AZ -

Bro imagine being told this in 2019 how depressing that would be. -
What do you think the other owners say about Reinsdorf paying like $23 million to have Dallas Keuchel and Jake Diekman and Leury Garcia $30+ Million to stay home and not be on his baseball team?

Congrats to Sammy Paralta though. While hittable, he is the last sox pitcher in the org who does not walk people. -

I also don't understand how they aren't performing way more churn among minor league FA and waivers. It was so clear that so many of the Charlotte staff last year couldn't be on the AA team of the Rays. Actually I do understand - the org is incredibly lazy. I remember Hostetler bragging about how stupid the prospect writer lists were and how he'd lie to them...but is there any org that seems to toe the value of the top 100 guys mroe than the sox? We rarely trade them, and we all remember Hahn's brilliant trades to grab Casey Gillaspie and a declining Blake Rutherford. It was 100% because they were on the last prospect handbook he had. -

I think the only thing more embarrassing that the sox so often grab near-retirement players off the scrap heap because they think they'll be better than the prospects they've built from their farm is that they are often right. -
I feel like "fans that hand over their money regardless of product on the field" is not a description that applies to white sox fans.
-
I love that 2b anecdote because it's certainly something that happened in like 1993, caused reinsdorf to sabatoge his own team to bring the players back down to heel, then stopped paying attention for the next 30 years since the only thing he cared about was taken care of.
-
Just bring the goose back.

I would be disappointed if we had like 53 wins and the as beat us with 47 I'm not gonna lie.

I pulled this together in a different place, but Dane Brugler has been the prognosticator closest to where bears will value their board of the two Poles drafts. The big exception is Velus. 2022: Kyler Gordon - 39th player | Bruglers 51 Jaquon Brisker - 48th player | Bruglers 42 Velus Jones - this is probably never going to match up with anyone lol 5th / 6th grade Braxton Jones - 5-168 | Brugler OT-11 4th round grade D Robinson - 5-174 | Brugler Edge-13 3rd Round Grade Z Thomas - 6-186 | Brugler G-19 6th-7th Round Grade T Ebner - 6-203 | Brugler RB 20 6th-7th Round Grade D Kramer - 6-207 | Brugler C-11 PFA Ja'Tyre Carter - 7-226 | OT-18 6th-7th Round Grade Elijah Hicks -7-254 | Not Ranked 2023: Darnell Wright - 10th player (OT2) | Brugler OT3 #24 overall (1st/2nd round grade) Gervon Dexter - 53rd overall (DT6) | Brugler DT 5 #55 overall (2nd round grade) Tyrique Stevenson - 56th overall (CB9) | Brugler CB11 #69 overall (2nd round grade) Zacch Pickens - 83rd overall (DT7)| Brugler DT9 #83 overall (3rd round grade) Roschon Johnson - 4-115 (RB8)| Brugler RB7 #91 overall (3rd round grade) Tyler Scott - 4-133 (WR17)| Brugler WR7 #48 overall (2nd round grade) Noah Sewell - 5-148 (LB10)| Brugler LB12 (4th-5th round grade) Terell Smith - 5-165 (CB23)| Brugler CB18 (4th round grade) Travis Bell - 7-204 | Brugler DT42 (UDFA) Kendall Williamson - 7-258 | Brugler S35 (UDFA) If you had the beast, you weren't that surprised to see Gervon Dexter picked or Pickens. But apparently it was a huge shock outside of that area. Doesn't mean these will be good drafts, but next year I know I'll be paying a lot more attention to his bands of talent than others.

Unfortunately all the what if games played on this forum lead to the negative in real life.

We had a 3rd overall pick. That is a terrible idea just to grab the guy that can be MLB ready. He also wasn't a very good complement! We struggled to find a good place for him and ended up with 12 1B who have no power.
-
To be #3 pick as a 1b only, RH only player, he needed to be Pete Alonso level. In all his complete, real seasons, he's been at 140 wRC+ He's settling into some Rhys Hoskins level. Which is fine. But Hoskins was selected in the 5th. Alonso was selected in the 2nd. Their career to date, he's been basically outplayed by Sheets, a 2nd round pick. And only sox fans, scarred by a SS moving to 2B, could still believe that asking baseball players to play different positions screws them up so much. To the extent that vaughn is so unathletic and weak in the legs he gets worn down so easily, it's another case against taking him 3rd overall.

Whew i'm sad the one non sox thing I've had to spend time on is over. Thankfully F1 has a nice run of weekend races. A few interesting things some have been touched on: - The "Sewell as an edge" thing is really interesting. I am not sure I see bears fully converting him but wouldn't be surprised if he's allowed to compete with the small number of SAM snaps with Sanborn and possibly tried as a 3rd down rusher. - I love reading all of the "you can use Tyler Scott as an end around/jet sweep threat". Reason being: DJ Moore was that guy in Carolina. Claypool was that guy in Pitt. Mooney was that guy in Chi. Velus is also that guy. Lots of speed and fun could be had forcing defenses to play those WR motions honest. - I'm imagining a great wildcat set with Roschon at QB and Tyler Scott at RB. Scott was a former RB and has incredible vision in open field. You can either pound Roschon up the middle or sell Scott out wide. Also could do the fake "QB run" with roschon and then jump pass since he's a former QB.
