I was hoping our resident tennis expert would have some overlap here

I feel like the long Boston globe story (was that cafardo) should be the authority on this. The rest is a bunch of loosely sourced rumors That had Moncada and Kopech as the agreed to pieces on the Friday before while sox were pushing for devers. Seems like the Monday night before it went down Hahn backed off devers and asked for Basabe + Diaz.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
bmags replied to Harold's Leg Lift's topic in The Diamond Club
I am super thrilled with how Nick has played this year. But, I feel reasonably convinced that had we drafted Kelenic he would be playing for a different org right now but we'd have a pretty amazing player in return. Not like the mets. -
I'm a total poseur fan now. Hoping there is some formula one super fan I can learn stuff from. My wife got me into the Netflix docuseries and it went from "I never really liked racing but this show is great" to "I'll watch the highlights but I don't want to spoil the show" to "I am watching the qualifiers all day please shut up children" Literally shrieked in horror when Max Verstappen went into the wall on Sunday, and was as happy as a sox win when Gasly made it into top 3. Fun stuff. I'm a formula one expert now AMA.

I would separate that trade out a bit, I think there was a difference between Kahnle who had become an elite set-up guy and would become an elite set-up guy on the contending teams vs. Soria who was having a good year but was clearly a MR for contending teams.

ok sure but you missed justin fields talk radio so

Ha, yeah, that one I was really disappointed in. But part of that was just I followed the sox because my dad was an AL fan when they moved to chicago, which I mention to say history for the sox starts in the 90s for me. And I still think the sox are particularly bad at cultivating a shared history among their fans. Despite same circumstances for other sports in Chicago, I soaked up bears and hawks history with ease. And I guess its worth mentioning the other team that really doesn't have a history I could point to is the Bulls - who basically start in 1983 in my head. Maybe its a Reinsdorf thing? But I hoped I'd get to see some footage of what the 50s and early 60s white sox were like, since they were damn good every year, and see what comiskey looked like and just nothin. Was a huge bummer. Like the '64 sox were 98-64 and were 2nd place to the yankees by 1 damn game. Here is how much I know about the '64 White Sox : - My great uncle swears Norm Cash would have led to a sox dynasty and hates bill veeck's guts to this day.
-
Of course but when the white sox get press it's because they should get press but when the other teams get press its because they hate the white sox.
-
i would, personally. I think we'll have a tough 40 man next year and grabbing some middle reliever having a good year seems like a reasonable trade-off there. I would grab a middle reliever every year we are competitive to be honest, they are very cheap and I can't remember a single guy we got for a middle reliever worth anything.

I don't like him, but I actually think him losing his column has made him more bearable as it doesn't feel like he is workshopping a hot take anymore.

One way that I know someone is really well-balanced in life is if they tell me often how they are well-balanced on a message board.

Oh no here come the fun police.

I have bad news for you.

I can't with espn1000. I will say this, and I can't tell if it's because I am getting extremely old and moved into his demographic or if he genuinely improved, but Mully on Mully and haugh has been like really pretty impressive and entertaining on the white sox this year and that show has definitely given sox their due timewise. I don't listen a lot because I don't drive much anymore in the morning but it's been decent. It's wild how irrelevant the trib and sun-times sports sections are now. Trib is basically just paul sullivan chained to a desk in a dungeon covering 5 beats on the brink of madness.

That game was awesome.

the mlb at bat app! It's brutal! I like it though since it texts me .5 seconds before something happens on the tv.

is how I'm extremely annoyed by baseball media again. Takes me right back to 17 years old calling the tribune the cub-une and yelling at every baseball tonight segment that didn't mention the white sox. Biggest annoyances at the moment: - National baseball media falling over themselves to talk about how resilient and grindy the Mets have been since they've faced such devastating injuries that have forced some of their players to the sidelines for upwards of a few weeks ? RIP Conforto, i'm sure they also threw a funeral for you - *Fernando Tatis Jr catches a pop-up* . *my phone buzzes 17 times straight* "YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT TATIS JUST DID" "CAN YOUR SHORTSTOP do ThAt? ?" "SEE HOW A SUMMARY OF HOW OUR WRITERS REACTED TO TATIS INSANE CAN-Of-CORN CATCH!" - "The cubs just won a game...are they the greatest team in baseball?" I'm hurt! I'm hurting! The grievances are bubbling to my surface!

Obviously he was wearing a “Chicago white Sox” tshirt so he was easy to identify -
still would like to see more power considering he is corner of.
