2011 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) Hadn't even heard about this. I must actually commend the Cubs here. Silva was a bi-product of the Bradley fiasco and was going to be wasted coin regardless. They don't figure to contend this year. And even if they did, I'm not so sure Cashner couldn't outperform him anyway. Much better off in seeing what they have from one of their few young studs. He's got Daniel Bard type stuff. But he's walking gasoline if he doesn't get that BB/rate down. Absolutely agree.

Things that need to come back...
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) No f***ing s***. Dont try to fool me with you "deli" sandwiches 7-11, I know that s*** is frozen and flown in. Wow, that brought back memories. I used to live directly across the street from a White Hen and use to eat a s*** ton of their deli sammiches, delicious.

I loved Connies at Sox games, one of the few and I heard about it but I really don't care.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) Brandon McCarthy named the A's #4 starter. I've always liked Brandon, still hope he manages to get his career and health back on track.

Mark Buehrle
I mean that's a certainly a fair analysis, that being said, to me Mark is just one of those guys where you can throw peripherals and everything else out the damn window. He's going to give you a solid yet not spectacular 200+ innings, with an era between 3.8 and 4.25, no doubt in my mind.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 02:04 AM) I liked it. Still not a fan of how each episode is one singular storyline, and I think Lloyd puts stuffs together WAYY too quickly, but I'm going to keep watching the show. Not as good as I hoped, but I still enjoy it. Ya, I definitely understand that. Like I said, the other 3 episodes have been good but not great to me, I really did love last nights though.

*Official* Work Out Thread
So for the next 5 weeks(until May 2nd) I've decided that I'm going to completely give up partying(drinking, going out, drunk meals) and 100 percent focus on my nutrition/exercise program to get me to exactly where I want to be. I'm going to allow myself to eat a slice or two of pizza once a week but besides that, it'll be completely healthy eating. I've figured I've come this far so I might as well go all out to reach my ultimate goal. And for the people that know me, giving up partying for a week let alone 5 is pretty difficult for me. Going to be real tough but I got everything set up and I'm going to get this done.

Final Four
QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) I honestly have no problem with a 96 team bracket at this point...but then again I'm not a huge college basketball fan outside of the tournament, so having the regular season basically be irrelevant would not bother me. And more NCAA tourney games can never be a bad thing, IMO. UGH. I think I'd literally kill someone if they expand to 96 teams.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Weird...I had never watched (or even heard of) the show before, I randomly watched it tonight, and you end up posting about just that. My mom is obsessed with "Criminal Minds" and they pretty much always have a marathon on Sunday nights on a&e so that's how I learned about "Breakout Kings." I've enjoyed but didn't love the first few episodes but tonight was my favorite by far and I am pretty much in love with the chick that plays Erica.

Jeremy Reed
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) And to think, that was a compliment at the time too. My how times have changed. Solid top of the order hitter with an above average glove in cf, if only...

Jeremy Reed
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 01:39 AM) He's a worse option than Mark Kotsay. Remember when Jeremy Reed was going to be the next Mark Kotsay?

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
Definitely a good hire on paper but some of the recent Valley coaches who have went on to bcs schools have struggled, so it's still a wait and see approach.

Southwest Region
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Probably one of their easiest opponents of their tourney run... not saying VCU will win just you can argue Butler is the 2nd worse opponent they faced so far. With Georgetown just not being good and Purdue being depleted, it's pretty arguable. Anyways, Butler is certainly beatable they just don't get beaten if that makes sense.

Final Four
QUOTE (YASNY @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) Could this have possibly gone any better for the NCAA? A play-in team to the Final Four in the very first year they tried this format. It's really kind of the perfect storm for them. You have two "cinderellas" and two power houses left no matter what. Kind of the best of both worlds type deal.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) Did he predict the upset or something? No. Just the fact that he was going off on the selection committee for including VCU and UAB(but so was everyone else). Thing is, VCU did belong in this tourny based on their resume though so good for them.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Kansas's guards are incredibly mediocre for a number 1 seed. This QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) Congrats VCU, just awesome. This

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) Shoot first point guard eh? Take those 17 assists and eat your words Skip Bayless. And those assists were all pretty much setting up his teammates for dunks and layups, that' what was so amazing about it. He wasn't just kicking it to a guy who was making a jumper with a defender in his face but he was getting Noah and Boozer and Taj and everyone else wide open layups, just a thing of a f***in beauty. I'm still in awe, just ridiculous.

That was an absolute f***in clinic. I don't care that it was Milwaukee and I don't care what efficiency stats say, he's your MVP, and if you witnessed this game you'd think the same way, unf***inbelievable!
