QUOTE(Beltin @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) I remember that as well. A lot of folks were disappointed that that Sox let him go. I can not recall the circumstances when they parted ways, though. Was it through trade, expansion draft, free agency? Please fill in the blanks if you recall. Transactions: Drafted - Selected by Cleveland Indians in 11th Round (267th overall) of 1988 amateur entry draft (June-Reg) ... Selected by California Angels in 1st Round (34th overall) of 1991 amateur entry draft (June-Reg) May 18,1997 - Traded by Angels with Chuck McElroy to White Sox for Chad Kreuter and Tony Phillips. Nov 18,1997 - Selected by Diamondbacks from White Sox in expansion draft (Pick #7). Jul 31,1998 - Traded by Diamondbacks with Willie Blair and Cash to Mets for Bernard Gilkey, Nelson Figueroa and Cash. Nov 20,1998 - Traded by Mets to Marlins for Oscar Henriquez. Aug 26,1999 - Released by Marlins. Aug 31,1999 - Signed as Free Agent by Braves. Nov 5,1999 - Released by Braves. Jan 12,2000 - Signed as Free Agent by Royals. Nov 1,2000 - Granted Free Agency. Nov 20,2000 - Signed as Free Agent by Angels. Nov 5,2001 - Granted Free Agency. Nov 19,2001 - Signed as Free Agent by Angels. Jul 31,2002 - Traded by Angels with Pedro Liriano and Johnny Raburn to Brewers for Alex Ochoa and Sal Fasano. expansion draft

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) One aspect of this trade which I'm not looking forward to is Gload absolutely destroying our pitching next year. We all know it's going to happen. Yeah that seems to be inevitable. But i hope Ross does well for KC, just not against us(still hoping for it to happen).

TIFWIW Alex Rodriguez-3B-Yankees Dec. 16 - 12:52 pm et Alex Rodriguez told Bob Costas in a nationally syndicated radio interview in September that he might retire once his current 10-year contract expires after the 2010 season. It's news now because no one heard it then, apparently. "I don’t really see myself playing past this contract," Rodriguez said in the interview three months ago. At the time, he was likely frustrated with the way his season had progressed. "I believe he was speaking honestly from the frame of mind that he was in at the time," Costas said in a telephone interview yesterday. "He was very matter of fact and there was no anger in his voice. It was a tone of resignation." Considering that A-Rod has been adamant recently that he wants to stay in New York, it seems doubtful that he feels quite the same way. There's little chance that A-Rod will call it a career at age 35. Source: New York Times

Garcia to Philly for Gavin Floyd and Gio Gonzalez

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 07:14 AM) That doesn't sound good, does it? About Gavin no, but about Gio yes. -
can a mod or admin or someone change to subtopic thing to possibility of the bulls being involved or something like that. Thanks. per rotoworld Iverson to the Warriors? The New York Daily News is reporting that a three-team deal involving the Bulls and Warriors may be a possibility for a trade of Allen Iverson. The Warriors would possibly send power forward Troy Murphy or point guard Baron Davis to Chicago as part of a package of players, while the Sixers would get Ben Gordon. The Bulls reportedly don't want Iverson as they fear he and Scott Skiles would clash, which makes sense. Other Bulls mentioned going to Philly in a potential deal have been P.J. Brown and ex-Knick Michael Sweetney, each in the final year of his contract. Interestingly, Troy Murphy is not playing for the Warriors on Tuesday night, giving this rumor some extra intrigue. Dec. 12 - 11:18 pm et There was something mentioned about it in the NBA discussion thread, but i figured that this deserves its own thread. I don't want the bulls to trade ben gordon at all, i don't mind if they got rid of sweetney or brown, just not gordon, he's my boy.

Alex Gonzalez-SS-Red Sox Nov. 16 - 8:32 pm et Free agent Alex Gonzalez reportedly has a three-year, $15 million offer on the table, likely from either the White Sox or the Reds. The Blue Jays have also been talking to Gonzalez, but they didn't make the offer. If Gonzalez can get this kind of deal, Julio Lugo at four years and $32 million would look very attractive. Of course, if it's the White Sox that sign Gonzalez, the same teams that are considering Gonzalez right now would likely covet Juan Uribe. Uribe is about as good defensively and has more offensive potential. Should the Reds get Gonzalez, Brandon Phillips would stay at second base. It'd make the decision to re-sign Juan Castro look awfully redundant. Source: Boston.com If this is already posted just delete this then.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) Wow, its intersting to see Tampa spending some money... I wonder how long that will last? I wouldn't think much longer.

I thought with the new CBA that the supplemental picks would not be in effect for the upcoming 2007 draft.

Are these games televised?

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) So if Young plays SS in 07, and 2B in 08, who plays SS in 08? And what happens with Uribe? I would love Young on the Sox, but I am just not sure how exactly this would work out without trading Goochi(which is a possibility too I suppose) IF robert valido has a solid 07 season, he may be a posibility for SS in 08. Just throwing it out there.

I like that idea, it's very cool. I will be sure to get a pic with them the first time i get the chance to get there.

I don't get what the big fuss is about. He went to a WORLD SERIES GAME with his favorite team growing up was playing in it and leading the series, so he supports his favorite childhood team by wearing their hat and now he wants to leave the southside. Why does this happen every year?

Isn't dave roberts getting up there in the age department too?

TB Prospect missing after boating accident
sayitaintso replied to fattyguy78's topic in The Diamond Club
Erik Walker-R- Devil Rays Oct. 26 - 6:44 pm et The body of Rays prospect Erik Walker was found Thursday, five days after a boating accident on the New River in Virginia. Walker, 23, was drafted by Tampa Bay in 20th round this year after a fine career at UNC-Charlotte. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Walker family," Mitch Lukevics, Director of Minor League Operations for the Devil Rays, said in a statement. "We came to know Erik as young man who played baseball the same way he lived his life, full of enthusiasm, passion and joy. He was a good player, a good person and a great teammate. He was exactly the kind of individual we would want wearing our major league uniform." R.I.P. -
I joined that league zoom, but if someone really wants to get in i will drop out of the league.

As long as cora is no where near third base i am fine with it.

I am Pro-Haeger too. I love watching hitters look stupid trying to sit back and wait on his knuckler, then pulling off the big WHIFF.

It's bringing back some good memories of the 2005 season now. But 1 year ago today, wow. It seems like just yesterday.
