  2. former sox carl everett and mike porzio were in the melee
  3. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) from foxnews.com 63 billion dollar law suit against Vick Michael Vick Pledge alligience to Al Qaida in hand written law suit the onion's got nothing on the real life comedy. omg that is hysterical.... "michael vick subjected me to microwave testing michael vick uses drugs in school zones" "63,000,000,000.00 billion" --- so is that like 63 billion billion? even if its 63 billion...thats more than bill gates or warren buffett...lol
  4. uribe is perhaps the worst offensive everyday player in baseball....jason kendall may be worse actually.... he hits an occasional home run, yes, but.....he doesn't hit for average...he doenst walk....he doesnt hit 2bs or 3bs.....he has 0 speed his obp last year was .257....this year its .276....for the record carlos zambrano has a .262 obp this year....with a similar HR ratio might i add uribe is a good defender, yes...but he has to go he was listed as the worst offensive ss in the majors by our friend dayn perry http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7104348
  5. i agree on the madden games...i just dont find them that fun...im a huge sports fan but i honestly find sports games to be rather lame and boring in general....MVP 05 being the exception
  6. dont know how to embed the video but this is hilarious...
  7. close your eyes..... gio 2.2 IP 9 ER 8 H 4 BB 4 K
  8. this is an incredible record and im not taking anything at all away from bobby here but do you guys buy what hawk ozzie and coop said, that its harder to do as a reliever?i think it is harder to do as a starter.....you have guys that will see you 3 times in the same game and your arm is more fatigued after 100 or so pitches....on the other hand its difficult to get in a groove as a reliever and you sometimes have to come in when you aren't 100% warmed up, and it can be tough to have control after just a short time in the pen....also you are facing the pressures of the late inning situation, however, as a starter you are potentially and probably facing the pressures of throwing a perfect game... its debatable and remarkable either way so it may be a moot point, but what do you guys think?
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) Just like Mike Jackson and his 1000 career appearances i was at that game
  10. this is a truly remarkable record...... 100+ years of baseball nobody has gotten more hitters out in a row than bobby....i cant believe the national media isnt more on this story....its a damn shame we arent winning or on the east coast, because this would be huge.....congrats bobby...this is an unreal streak...keep it goin..lets shatter the old record and hit 50
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 11:58 PM) I'm convinced the only reason we didn't trade him is he's going to re-sign, because if we kept him AND we lose him this offseason, then Kenny is even dumber than anybody here could ever imagine. or because the value of the potential two draft picks was better than anything we would have gotten for dye

    Andy Sisco

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 08:20 AM) Little snippet; Now my question is, do we hang onto him? Is he going to get a chance to compete as a 5th starter next season? Or do you use him as bait to try and get a young SS who can contribute now? tough to say....i would doubt that the market for him would be that high after only 5 starts at AAA.....but staying fair to sisco he was a guy who was rushed and never got to dominate at the upper minors...and never got to start....i say we hold on for a bit longer...i dont think his stock is high enough yet to "sell high" for something now.
  13. to me this record is not getting nearly enough national attention.....can you imagine how much espn would be all over this had it been papelbon or rivera that did this
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 10:21 AM) Though I like the Stone-Hawk team, I think they got way out of hand with the Fields love last night. The guy made three different fielding mistakes, and they somehow managed to make two of them out to be "good plays". Then Hawk said that Fields reminded him of Harmon Killebrew. I mean, I'm excited to have Fields on this team, but let's control ourselves a bit here. yeah and stone said we are seeing a superstar blossoming in his infancy stage....i dont think fields is headed for a superstar career....i think he will be a very good player...a jermaine dye type perhaps...but ithought they went a bit overboard too.....even stoney was inquisitive of hawk when hawk compared him to killebrew

    Laptop Help

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) Ive had several laptops over the past few years. The one I have liked more than all of the others combined was a Vaio. just bought a new vaio....love it so far...its the thinnest and lightest one ive found and came with all the toys and good processor, big hard drive etc....and relatively cheap for a computer with the specs that it had
  16. pre back injury i thought about maybe crede playing SS....troy glaus played a little bit there earlier this year, but i just dont think its logical...i dont think hed have the range
  17. we lost, but i was there and briefly got to talk to jensen lewis who was a friend of mine at vandy...definitely very cool to see a guy i used to play softball with pitch to major league hitters
  18. this has been around quite a bit lately, and it may have been posted elsewhere...but this is unbelievable...
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) I honestly dont think Bobby lost his fastball, I think its still there. I think he cut down his stride and took a bit off of the actual velocity to save himself for the entire season as well as injury risk and added control. Looks to be working 2006 pre ASB 2.83 1.11 WHIP post ASB 5.72 1.80 WHIP 2007 pre ASB 3.28 ERA 1.15 WHIP post ASB 2.45 ERA 0.41 WHIP his walks have decreased significantly as well. i agree with this 100%.....i think bobby has given up the 100mph heater in favor of a more consistent 95 mph fastball that he can not only command, but also add a little cut to...and it probably helps save his arm....in addition, whats wrong with a 95 mph fastball? when i look at the "new" bobby, i see a guy who can throw a 95 mph fastball with command, add cut, throw a decent slider, and a wicked curve....so basically i see joe nathan stuff, and nobody in minnesota is complaining about him
  20. im not so sure that hawk doesnt respect DJ, but to me it seems like hawk is just generally excited to talk baseball with someone more from his era (or at least closer to his era), so it almost sounds as if he gets a glitter in his eye when he talks to stone. i dont dislike DJ at all, but stone is a good announcer....the only knock i have against stone is that he analyzes too much and tends to talk alot....completely the opposite of hawk who alot of times likes to let the game speak for itself...
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) Fields/Owens/Sanchez. 08. pods or erstad/owens/ sanchez...lol
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) As long as Uribe is gone next year, retool however you want. Watching him tonight dog a few of the ground balls, then give the Ole wave to it was a bit sickening. Watching this guy go up to the plate with no clue. I could give 2 s***s what he did before, its time to let him go before he comes into ST next year where he needs someone to tell him what his feet look like. aww come on now that .257 obp last year and the .267 this year doesnt do it for you? sersiouly....id almost prefer to see gonzalez in there, and believe me....i dont think andy gonzalez belongs anywhere near the major league roster
  23. WS Rings Chris Widger 1 Barry Bonds 0
  24. a cool moment, but nothing more..... part of me smiled a little bit knowing that i saw history, but then my stomach was filled with an emptiness because i know that the fact that barry has the record is unjust and now belongs to someone who i not only believe to have cheated, but also to someone who i find to be a despicable human
  25. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 07:57 PM) Agree. Brings a lot of professionalism and insight to the game. Not the ongoing babbling of Hawk. what? i like steve stone alot, i think hes intelligent, but if he has one flaw its that he over analyzes and talks about every little detail of everything..IMO hes the one who babbles too much.... the two change ups danks threw to michaels were the best ones ive seen him throw maybe all year
