  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 01:39 AM) I guess that makes sense. I'm not gonna make a big deal about it either way. Agreed. This is a non-issue.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) So then only half the people here would be dumb asses . . . Pulling out my syringe labeled 'Texsox'.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) Wow, I didn't know you were looking for one Oh, I'd innoculate a whole s***load of liberals.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) Why? Did you see Harry? He looked great. Chaney had a nice speech in Wyoming, it's all coming together with great news. Why rain on the good news? Because there's no such thing as a dumbass vaccine. This post wasn't pointed at you Texsox.
  5. Helluva women's hockey game going on right between USA and Sweden ... on USA network.
  6. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 10:22 AM) :headbang ^^^^^^ What he said!
  7. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) We can have a fast base stealer at first telling our guys how and when to steal or we can have an old slow guy that can not stay awake. HMMMMMMM I am going to have to go with Rock on this one. Who would you rather have as a hitting coach Frank Thomas or Royce Clayton? Ted Williams or Charlie Lau?
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 10:10 AM) Which is why the border hospitals are full of Mexican citizens going into labor on the US side and delivering their babies here. Him playing for the DR would have been a farce. A-Rod has never been on a Championship team, I am certain almost any team would rather have Crede, who has won a championship, than A-Rod. Plus they would get the Rally Crede, which is invaluable. Which is why that little stipulation needs to be changed to where at least one of the parents is a US citizen.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) I don't think that these extremists are using terrorism because they think the US won't respond. In fact, I think they WANT us to respond. The reason they use terrorism is that it is the most efficient means available to them. They have no standing army, as they are not a nation-state. And those nations that would like to harm us don't have the resources to do so. Okay, then let me rephrase that. That incident was the beginning of the perceived cowardice on the part of the US.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) I love this day ... especially this year as we begin our drive to repeat!
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) He's no Nardi Contreras. Thankfully.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 08:59 AM) The only exception about this is when he withdrew from Somalia, which IMO set the precedent for modern terrorism, because the Americans became 'cowards' at that point, and when the 'wag the dog' crap came up with the Bosina stuff. I thought that was tasteless then and I do now looking back on it. The perception that the US wouldn't respond started in, iirc, 1968 with the USS Pueblo incident with North Korea. Of course, the bombing of the Beirut marines barracks and the Iran hostage crisis just added to that perception.
  13. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 06:02 AM) Wordplay. I don't know what amazes me more, the ability of BushCo loyalists to defend absolutely anything done by the administration or their capacity for manufactured outrage. Oh, there was nothing manufactured about it. It took quite a lot of self restraint to keep myself from directing a few well chosen words your way.
  14. Interesting quote here:

  16. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) As oposed to the wingnuts who fellate Cheney at every opportunity. Classless.
  17. I give Ozzie a lot of credit for that championship, but I think Kenny is THE man most responsible for it.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 08:28 AM) There are certain things Ozzie does as a manager right now that will cause me to never be sold on his in game skills, regardless of what we win (hell, we could win again this year for all I know). He's a great clubhouse leader and the best manager in baseball during the 21 hours the game isn't being played, by a mile and a half, and that's worth something obviously. But his in game manager skills and strategy simply aren't very good, and I can't look past that. Yes, we won the damn WORLD SERIES last year, which means after a bad loss, I won't be on here freaking out all the time. But, I will sit whereever I was watching the game, whether it be at home, a friends house, or some restaurant, and think "Ozzie, WTF are you doing?" like I did after a lot of games the last 2 years. I don't know, but our record in 1 and 2 run games suggest otherwise. He managed near flawlessly in the post season, and we won a lot of very close games there as well. Which again suggests he does know what he's doing.
  19. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Personally, I've not had a problem with Ozzie's resting and rotating of players. In fact, any analysis of the post-season reveals what a genius he was. The only I have about Ozzie sometimes are his bullpen moves. I probably agree with him 80% of the time, but the other 20% are truly baffling. In those other 20% he's testing guys in certain situations. He's giving the opportunity to succeed or fail so he knows what he's got. He wants to see who has the gonads to handle to being put into tough situations.
  20. QUOTE(kman @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) Whats wrong with stalking? Stalking is my hobby. Steff is next on my list.
  21. I pinned this one so folks can add to it throughout the spring. If any of the admins feel like this shouldn't be pinned, by all means, unpin it.
  22. Sox fans have told Reinsdorf for years that if they build a winner, they will put buts in the seats. Glad to see you guys putting your money where your mouth is. I'll have to pick my spots when I can and hope to scrounge up tickets when the time comes, but I'm thrilled tickets are selling so well.
  23. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:08 AM) Far right doesn't equal conservative. Far left doesn't equal liberal. Correct. The word 'radical' is not part of the equation.
