  1. I don't agree with this whole "ignoring somebody is juvenile" argument. I have one person on ignore, and that's greg. There is honestly no reason to not have him on ignore. He brings nothing to the table but rambling, incoherent posts with no basis in reality or statistical evidence. He's Soxtalk's version of the insane homeless man on the corner yelling at everybody that passes by him. Do you ignore that person? Yes, we all do.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) Cheap tickets = crappy product on the field I know, but those were some good memories.
  3. Cheap tickets for the Sox. I still remember (because it was just like 7 years ago) when you could show up at the park 10 minutes before the game, buy the cheapest upper deck ticket, and end up sitting right behind the dugout.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 08:35 AM) Went to see the movie Paul over the weekend. Solid. Had some funny parts. I'm curious to see what kind of reviews Sucker Punch gets. I thought Paul was pretty damn good. Like I've said before, I loved Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I figured Paul wouldn't be on the same level, as it looks like it's more of just a movie Pegg and Frost are in together, but had little to do with making it. That was pretty spot on, good but not great like the others.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 06:18 PM) I love how people are getting pissed at Jake for pitching his last start. It's not like Jake has the final call. Ozzie, Coop and Herm had to give him the go ahead, so if its his last start that aggravated it (when he had the flu) they deserve as much blame as anything. Christ, people hated guys like Javy and Swish for their less than competitive attitude. I'm only angry at Peavy because he cannot stay healthy. He'd find a way to injure himself while watching TV.
  6. I don't care how much of a competitor Peavy is, or how hard he's trying to come back to be of value to this team. He's nothing but a drain on this team. Go f*** yourself, you glass piece of s***.
  7. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) The original Frutopia Strawberry Passion Awareness Wow, I haven't had that in at least 10 years. It was amazing stuff.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) And if either Jake pitches up to his contract or there's an insurance policy on Jake's contract covering portions where he's on the DL long term, those ecstatic posters would continue to be correct. Having an insurance policy will do little to cheer me up as a fan this season. That is, unless they use that money during the year to pick up another piece to help us. I'm watching this season with expectations that the team will do something of note, not whether or not they make back the money they invested in the team.
  9. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 01:05 AM) +1. There is no question that each and every time Jake pitched and side sessioned this spring all the docs, KW Ozzie and Coop sat down with him and and they checked him out. The idea that Jake was out there on his own keeping secrets is idiotic. There was always a ton of dialogue about just how he was feeling and how much to work out between starts. Nobody knew quite what to do and they admitted that they shouldn't have worked him out so hard on off days rehabbing the first couple weeks. Then they scaled that program back. There was no way to anticipate what that setback was going to be, but there has ALWAYS been an understanding that it was coming. So, the setback is here. BFD. He steps down for a few weeks and ramps it back up when he's ready. He's pitched pretty damn well all spring and once they get a handle on this soreness he's gonna be fine. Why people are so unstable about all this is just bizarre. I'm guessing it's because he's been a member of this team since 2009 and he hasn't been healthy since then. I know I'm rather upset about that.
  10. This is the type of situation where I wish we lived in a more brutal society. They'll just go to jail and probably get out before they die, otherwise they'll just receive a painless death by lethal injection. They should be dragged out into the street and shot a few times in the kneecaps, groin, stomach, etc. before being shot in the head. No offense, lost, but I'd feel the same way if it were someone in my family.
  11. I'll just tell you right now that it's not a dream, although there is at least one more season coming. It was just a sub par season, sort of like Sons Of Anarchy was. And unlike SOA, it didn't have a final episode that saved the entire season.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) I'm insulted by this accusation. Even though you're right. Lol. Well at least give me the Dunn signing. And I've lauded Ozzie for naming Thornton/Morel the closer and 3B. But, yeah, let us get off to another 2010-ish like start and my wrath will be epic. Thanks, buddy. Right back at ya. Did the Dunn signing happen in 2010 or 2011? I just find it funny that you've become the fathom or, dare I say, the Milkman delivers of 2005
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 08:00 AM) Brandon Allen would be far and away the top prospect in our system, not including Sale, and in the top 10-12 in many others. I can't really pinpoint why Arizona hasn't given him a chance yet. Then again, they've traded Max Scherzer and Dan Haren for pretty mediocre returns. And I don't know where you get that 4 guys are ahead of him on their depth chart. He's second only to Juan Miranda at 1B. And they've got the great Xavier Nady in LF, another position Allen could potentially play. If you think the Sox 'won' that trade I would hate to see your definition of lost trade. Pena sucks. You have not made one wholly optimistic post this year.
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 01:21 AM) Good choice. Less of an excuse for the Sox next season if they plan on continuing to stifle his progress by putting him back in the bullpen. Good God, shut up already.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) He's telling Brent that he needs more "L"s to spell the word yellow since it was spelled with just one. Ah, thanks.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) He spelled it, Y-E-L-O-W. Brent, Morel is what you need. I still don't get it.
  17. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 12:36 AM) He's a good role actor, not a good leading actor. He's a terrible actor. Edit: That is a bold, underlined period in size 7 at the end of that sentence.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) He's the same person in almost any movie, but he does fit that role well. He is the perfect person to play George Michael Bluth. I guess you can say he does it well, but I haven't been able to stand him in anything. He has the acting range of a rock.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) Its no unrealistic. Especially if you pull in some hogs on drunken nights. I know there was a year or two in there where my brain literally made itself forget I ever bedded a few of them. 50 is still alot though, you better wrap that s*** up. No doubt that there'd have to be some gross ones in there. I don't think I've ever been drunk enough to take home some of the girls I've seen taken home by others.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) You can easily be with a woman a month in college and hit that number. Haha, I knew as I was writing it that, if anyone on the site would refute what I said, it'd be you.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) Great, so get off of f***ing twitter and explain it like an intelligent adult, because both of them sound completely ignorant. How long before someone questions it and someone else pulls the race card by saying that the majority of players are black and owners are white?
  22. QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) haha this whole thread is like a collection of bad joecoolman jokes.. Except the people making the jokes know they're bad and don't think they've come up with some great one-liners.
  23. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a terrible liar. The kind of guy who wrote this letter is one of them, a person who can't see the difference between telling a believable lie and an outrageous one. This guy claims to have had sex with 50 women. That is damn near impossible, especially for someone who is still in college. Instead of picking a reasonably high number, he chooses an absurd amount and then writes a detailed essay on it, further proving how big of a liar he is. I have a friend who claimed to have been with 70+ women. Trust me, when you tell a story that's that ridiculous, nobody believes you. NOBODY believes you and while you think you're building yourself up in other people's eyes, they're laughing at you for being so stupid. I just hate terrible liars.
  24. Breakout star Michael Cera? Ugh, I'll never understand it.
  25. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) Next round is up. Looks like almost "chalk." Queen needs more votes. What?
