State trying to make sperm donor pay child support
What a terrible situation for the child. First, the parents break up within a year, then on state aid, now looking for parental support from a parent that thought he had no paternal liability. Hell, if I was the Dad I would countersue for full custody. F*** her

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 05:42 AM) Good point. One of the things Emery stressed in his presser was that he wants a coach to sell him on how he can win with THIS roster, and obviously that means he wants to hear how we can be successful with Jay Cutler, and not necessarily Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning. It's almost a catch-22 though, because a lot of the coordinators Emery will interview will be from teams with elite quarterbacks. That is one good sell that McCoy has. He made it work with Orton, Tebow and Manning.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 12:19 AM) I'm generally with you on that point. He could be great, but his experience is far less convincing given their HC. Hell, not only their HC but their QB. Brees is a machine.

you would think Corbett would leave it alone, considering there is more than a few whispers that he knew about it when it was going on

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 09:13 AM) My wife and I started Shameless last night after Directv/Showtime finally put the first two seasons on the ondemand. I had given the first episode a shot a while back and didn't care for it, but this time it seemed to click. Perhaps the lack of any other TV at the moment was necessary. The first two were really good. William H Macy is so hilarious in his role. Im just never used to him being such a scumbag and he plays it well

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 07:56 AM) I think there's still a serious scheme problem in the Bears offense that leaves their OLine players alone, without help, way too often. But...the chances of the Bears having the same scheme next year appear remote. *ding* But really, Clady or Long at LT is huge. Every OL gets beat here and then, Webb gets beat consistently.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 03:01 AM) The Bears OL troubles are systemic. Simply adding a Jake Long or Ryan Clady wont fix anything long term, and may even make the situation worse by having all that money tied up in one player. Having a pro bowl LT absolutely fixes things long term

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 06:16 PM) Yeah, I get it...and he overuses cliches all the time too...I wouldn't want him as our head coach. But I do like his enthusiasm and I think he is fairly well-liked around the league. I'm not disagreeing that he could use a little more Cris Collinsworth or Troy Aikman in him, but I understand his hesitancy to be too critical. I wasnt trying to tease you, just making fun of Gruden. One thing that I was thinking about was Gruden has familiarity with the Tampa 2, also with Marinelli. I think emery is going for MCCoy, but something to think about

QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 06:39 PM) Did anyone look into the fact that Emery mentioned he would promote one of the assistants to head coach? Was he hopefully just talking about Dave Toub? My guess if the new coach comes in lots of the coaches under contract will be let go or demoted. Mike McCoy and Bruce Arians are at the top of my list, but I have a feeling Emery has a guy in mind that he'd like to see coach the Bears and I hope to god it isn't Jon Gruden or Bill Cowher. It doesn't matter as much who the head coach is as it is who the offensive coordinator is -- unless he does both like the GB coach does. Draft some lineman, replace Urlacher with a new linebacker and let's get moving in 2013. I can't see this being a complete rebuilding year. I didn't hear or see that quote anywhere about promoting an assistant to HC

Yea I read something a month or so ago that said Knox isn't even able to run yet. we are a year after the injury and he can't even run, that is not a good sign. I could see Emery using a 4th - 6th round pick on a speedster

QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) We just didn't have anyone to blow the top off. I like Johnny as a fourth guy, given the top 3 we have It should have been Hester. They can find a speed burner. Two of the biggest worst plays last year were the result of Knox messing up, Cutlers thumb due to him giving up on a route and Knox breaking his back because he fumbled.

I'm glad we don't have a player like Knox currently. It isn't hard to find a WR that doesn't finish routes, has alligator arms, suspect hands and puts the ball on he ground a lot. He had world class speed and occasionally made a good deep target, but that was it. It's a shame what happened to him, I don't like to see anyone get bent that way, but I didn't miss him. Hester did a fine job playing his WR jester part.

QUOTE (balfanman @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) I would not be suprised that Emery made the decision at least several weeks ago to let Lovie go and has a pretty good idea right now who he wants to bring in. I think if anything the Seattle game threw the last scoop of dirt on him. Anythign short of running the table would not have been good enough.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 03:29 PM) I think you are missing the point. Angelo was fired January 3. It took the Bears almost 4 weeks to hire another GM. Those are Emery's bosses. They dont seem to care, so I really am not sure why they are going to change their stripes this year. Do you think the Bears will be the first team to hire a HC? Or do you think that they will be one of the last? My guess is the latter. Im not missing the point, The bosses arent the ones making the hire this time. I will go out on a limb and say the Bears are one of the first to make a HC hire.
