QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) The whole front-loading, retirement problem needs to be solved, regardless of if it has to do with a precious Blackhawks player or not. It's getting ridiculous. I agree it needs to be solved going forward. I don't agree with the idea (and I don't think you said you did either) that they should be retroactively canceling deals that were previously approved.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 07:52 AM) The issue might not be as much the Bulls being unwilling to give up Noah, but instead it might be the Nuggets understanding that they're going to have to extend Noah this year and as such Noah not offering really anything in terms of salary relief. Deng's contract + $10 million+ to extend Noah in exchange for Anthony means they've taken on an additional $5-10 million in salary, and I believe they're in tax territory, so that's nearly $20 million out the door in that deal. ...and a franchise player! Deng + Taj + bounty of picks + JJ (if he doesn't lessen the value of the package!) is the best deal the Bulls can offer, and it sounds like they have.

If you could be a member of the Whitesox organization...

Brooks Boyer currently holds my dream job given the field I'm in... so realistically HIM. Fantasy-wise, Kenny Williams. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) You've been outstanding of late. When did your evolution occur? This was like hitting off a tee. I deserve no credit.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) That still doesnt excuse the trading of the value that Hudson was. If you see something in Edwin Jackson, and you want him, and that's the price... then you pay it. Edwin Jackson is a pimp.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) I 100% agree on the Vista comments. I skipped over buying Vista computers for where I work and just waited for W7 and I dont regret it one bit. W7 is impressive. Yeah, I bought a laptop last year with Vista on it under the guise that I got Windows 7 for free when it came out. The upgrade was simple (insert CD, wait 15 minutes, insert new CD, voila new OS). Windows 7 is so much better than Vista, and I don't really see how it could be improved upon.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) I think it's fair to think it's not a good deal, I'll grant you your opinion, but to say it's the worst idea of all time means you REALLY over-value our players, or are just trying to make me look bad. Because if you honestly think this could be the worst deal of all time, then I seriously question your baseball knowledge. Uh. No. It's because I could not hate the idea of acquiring Jason Bay right now any more than I do, let alone trading a starter with the value of John Danks to get him. Bay is 33 next year, and set to make 17 mill per for each of the next three seasons. That is an AWFUL deal, and I said so when the Mets signed him to it. I'd much rather allocate those resources, if we had to, to locking up Danks rather than trading a player entering his prime to land someone so old, so expensive, and really, quite bad. Throw that 5 WAR crap out the window, dude's prime just done passed him by. May God have mercy on your soul.

QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) Why not? Don't you have 30 team control on? Evidently not. I just re-created him. Looks just like him (actually more like him bc i could make him bigger).

Chris Sale Appreciation Thread (FIRE KEITH LAW)

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) I wonder what it's like to be in the mind of a kid who had little time in the minors and every time he goes to the mound, one mistake can put a team in a race further behind. Some guys are mentally built for this s***, and Chris Sale seems to be one of them. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) Just trade Danks and Quentin to the Mets for Jason Bay + cash. Dear Lord this is the worst idea of all-time. Why on Earth would we want a 32 year old with plummeting numbers who is unhealthy and costs $17 mill per for another 3 seasons? LET ALONE why would we want to trade one of the better young starters in baseball to obtain his services?

QUOTE (TomPickle @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) The new iTunes looks so bad. It looks mostly the same.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Would you like to make a guarantee on that? Never.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) Probably not. If the D'Backs would have taken s***ty prospects, don't you think the Sox would have done it? Exactly. I doubt Kenny led with Daniel Hudson.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Nolan Ryan is the obvious counterpoint. Yeah, I didn't really agree with the man's point, I just wanted to say Big Unit. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) I dont have any statistical data to back it up, but it seems to me like left handed pitchers are able to maintain throwing at high speeds for a lot longer than right handed pitchers. Maybe it is the 3/4 slinging style that many of them have, but you look at guys like Thornton who just looks like he is playing regular catch and the ball just explodes out of his hand The Big Unit never slowed down. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) Depends on his mechanics. Stress on the elbow and shoulder depends on how you pitch, not exactly how fast you pitch. Regardless of mechanics, 104 stretches the boundaries of human ability. -

QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) I honestly can't say that I'm surprised by this. His Nintendo-style pitching reminded me of pre-injury Kerry Wood. The total amount of stress he put on his elbow must have been immense. So when does Chapman's elbow explode throwing 104? -
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) Agreed, you have a multi-billionare willing to invest in your company who has the power to market it all over the US and he was a complete dick to him? I hope Cuban buys the company now Yeah, that guy's a dick. I still haven't forgiven him for refusing to take Jerry's clown check down.

QUOTE (GLOAD is GOD @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) After watching Choo for the past two years, its obvious he's a pretty tough out. Not sure how salaries would match up, with arbitration and everything, but with Cleveland clearly out of it for sometime....do you think a White Sox package with Quentin as the headliner could get the job done? I just think Choo's bat and glove would be the perfect complement to the current team. I don't think the Indians would have any interest in TCQ.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) Maybe Beckham's hand isn't healing up as quickly as we had hoped? I'd think maybe Ozzie begged for some flexibility as a defensive replacement since Teahen is not a major league defender anywhere in the infield.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 08:37 AM) Guys, if you want to talk about the economy or politics, take it to the Filibuster. And my g*d Caufield, did you really just make a post that somehow involved Manny Ramirez, Gross Domestic Product, Robert E. Lee and the atomic bomb? The man does deserve some props for that.
