  1. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Yeah - I mean it's much more of a 'joke' expression for me... I'm not homophobic or anything... It's just chills the mood when I compliment another dude. I'm a big fan of saying it after complementing girls, gets a laugh usually.
  2. CMLT C190 An Introduction To Film ENG W131 Elementary Discussion I MATH M115 Pre Calculus and Trigonometry SPCH S121 Public Speaking Lecture SPCH S121 Public Speaking Discussion 1st semester of college, after an awful year and a half of working. My Monday's are long, but the rest of the week is pretty easy (though I go M-Th)
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) International is very vague, as there are a million different leagues with their own sets of rules. But for the most part, no fighting.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) It would be interesting if this country were half as much into politics as it is into TV... Do you really want people that into TV getting involved in politics?
  5. If we could keep him cheap at 1B/DH, and use the cash to upgrade somewhere else, that's fine. But I don't want to overpay for someone who will most likely be a below average 1B/DH in a year or two just because he's a fan favorite.
  6. Steak-N-Shake, Five Guys, Culvers, and as super cheap options go, Wendy's and Burger King.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 16, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) cards-packers was boring? 1 for 6 is pretty bad.
  8. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jan 16, 2010 -> 12:19 PM) I finally saw Extract and have to say I was very disappointed. I wasn't expecting another Office Space from Mike Judge, but I was expecting better than what it was. Yea, just watched it too, kind of a letdown.
  9. It's too bad we couldn't lock up Quentin long term while he's cheap.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 11:15 PM) He's been one of the best closers in the NL the last three years. I just don't get how a team supposedly looking to shed payroll (the Granderson trade) would make this move. Yea, trading Granderson, one of the premier players in the game to shed payroll, and then overpaying for a good, but not elite reliever. I can't say I understand it, but I'm not complaining.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) Just for forewarning when Ozzie starts Visquel at DH, I’m going to call for his head. I might not mean it in the long-term, but I’ll be pretty pissed off if it happens consistently. It would be the last straw for me, because I fail to see what Ozzie Guillen does well except having great pitching and defense fell from the sky in 2005.
  12. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I actually expect him to be our starting CF not long after the season starts. He's in a contract year, so he's going to play hard and show up in better shape. Besides, who else do we have? Quentin needs to be DH, period. Pierre in LF. Jones in CF. Rios in RF. I'd make that our standard starting lineup -- subbing Quentin from time to time to rest Pierre/Rios, shifting Rios to CF when Jones rests. Keeping Jones on the bench, IMO, is just dumb. He's better than his numbers have shown the last few years. Do you really think Jones can play CF well anymore? I'm unconvinced.
  13. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) If Andruw Jones plays a lot, he will hit more than 15HR at the cell in his worst year ever. In 2007 he hit 26 HR's in 659 PAs (he's not getting that many here) In 2008 he hit 3 HR's in 238 PAs I'd say 15 is at the lower end of what I would expect from Jones with a good amount of playing time, but how many PAs do you really expect him to get.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 12:15 PM) The team is more like the 2005 team but with better pitching all around. Everyone except Pierre and AJ can easily hit 20-30 HR. Pierre: 1 HR Beckham: 25 HR Quentin: 40 HR Konerko: 30 HR AJ: 15 HR Rios: 25 HR Missile: 20 HR Teahen: 20 HR Bench: 30 HR Is this not realistic? Around 200 HRs of the balanced variety. 20 From Jones and another 10 between Nix, Kotsay and Castro. Maybe we could use another player but I'm ok with this. I still wish we had another good outfielder. The only difference from 2005 is that this pitching staff only has to pitch up to its ability, not out their asses like 2005. The problem is that this is a best case scenerio. Worst case... Pierre: 1 HR Beckham: 20 HR Quentin: 15 HR, hurt on and off all year Konerko: 18 HR AJ: 12 HR Rios: 16 HR Missile: 14 HR Teahen: 12 HR Jones: 15 HR Assorted Bench Guys: 10-15 HR The truth lies somewhere between these two most likely, but adding a cheap great hitter to a position where all that is required is hitting is always going to yield better results then rotating mediocre hitters under the guise of "a flexible, dynamic bench"
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 10:58 AM) I'm talking in-game mechanics. I'm talking tackling, catching, running, etc. 10 years was an exagerration, but it has been a LONG time since they've done anything to change Adding 4-5 tackling animations doesn't count either. In essence all they do is add a feature here or there, update the rosters, and call it a new game. For a franchise that's been around for 25 years, I'd expect some major innovation at least once every few years. I'm hoping this non-licensed football game that's about to come out (can't remember the name, but just read an article about it on IGN or Gamespot a week ago) will create some competition. Supposedly it's reinventing the mechanics of a football game. I think you mean backbreaker, and Madden absolutely need competition. NHL and FIFA are better games because they have to compete with 2K and PES.
  16. QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 08:55 PM) I consider a leadoff hitter to be a fairly integral part of an offense. And that's why Juan Pierre should bat 9th.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) That's true, one thing I have wanted is to create an entire playbook of my own. The gameplay is sweet already, though. If people took there own playbooks online, it would be a disaster. So much cheese.

  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 10, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) I'm assuming Raines? Yeah.
  20. Chinese Restaurant episode was on yesterday. Wonderful stuff.
  21. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) I did not know that. That obviously then also gives him the lowest OBP of any first-ballot inductee. Funny what over 3,000 hits, 900+ steals and lifetime BA just shy of .300 will cause some writers to overlook. And yet having over 2,600+ hits, 800+ steals in 954 atempts, a lifetime average of .294, and a career OBP of .385 can't get a guy in.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) I don't think its outrageous to think Jermaine Dye will outproduce Jim Thome next year, if given similar roles. I don't think Dye would settle for a similar role, however- he'll probably want more money, years or defensive positions. It's not outrageous, but there's no solid reason to believe it will happen.
  23. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) .304 .353 .412 = $1.75 mil .308 .365 .392 = $4.5 mil WHAT!? To be fair, they're both garbage, but Pierre's defense is better.
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) I still have NBA Jam TE and my Sega Genesis. Every year or so I bust it out, play Jam, MLB '94 and Madden '94 for the hell of it. Good times. Jam and Street Fighter are the reason my Genesis is still set up.
