  1. He didn't sign in December. It was announced that he would sign in the period opening in January of this year.
  2. So much winning, it is hard to keep score at home.
  3. Operating income and capital gains taxes are two different things and totally different reasons for how to operate business.
  4. Yeah it is nice to get a bit more dependable innings into the rotation than we were looking at before. We have SOOOOOO many innings to cover, it makes sense to at least have some experienced professionals here.
  5. If it is, it would be their first profitable year since before the pandemic.
  6. That's what I am saying though... HERE they were talking about them like that, as it was others who haven't been mentioned yet.
  7. So many lists. It like Caulfield died and went to heaven.
  8. You can look at all of the lists you want in hindsight, but I am here to tell you plenty of people at the time thought we had surplus pitching. I would also bet money that five years from now we laugh at some of the names being included on these lists today
  9. Nah, everyone was making the same lists then too.
  10. If someone gives Pete 9 years, they get what they deserve
  11. In most businesses you aren't allowed to contact clients after you leave, especially that quick.
  12. It's like the football equal of "baseball men".
  13. I think it was 20 teams SENT presentations, but a fraction of that got to meet him in person.
  14. I mean if we want to get right down to it, the Sox signed Carlton Fisk and The Bull after a 90 loss season. The Sox would have to improve 31 whole games to improve to the point where they were as bad as when the Sox signed Fisk and Bull. In that year they moved up to a team that was 2 games over .500 when the strike happened, but make that an entire season, and they are 82-80, or 10 games better than they were the previous year. Are a lot of people running out to buy tickets for this as a 111 loss team instead of a 121 loss team?
  15. Trying to convince people that a nine year deal based on a guy who had 3 decent years in a 9 year contract is a move all right, especially after he was both traded and then released for the last 3 full years, even with the trading team picking up parts of the contract.
  16. If Keller is the guy who added Rodriguez, is is great to see immediate results from them.
  17. Cool, then run along and quit responding to everything.
