  1. So you aren't serious here. OK, thanks. That saves me some time.
  2. Oh I have no doubt we will get a limited ceiling guy that gets fed to us as a 10 year starter who will fix our [insert positon] problem for the next 10 years. How about his year looks remarkably similar to 2021 Andrew Benitendi, and that shouldn't be a top target in a trade like this.
  3. He's a mid ceiling guy who has already used up some of his cheapest years. We need to do better than that. Way better than that. Kopech was a super star front line pitcher ceiling. Do you not see the difference?
  4. At the time of the trade? You are going to argue that the Red Sox kid is more highly rated than a top 20 ranked guy in baseball we got in Kopech? Coming into 2024 he was ranked #23 in the Red Sox system. Kopech was more like #23 overall. Even in the mid season 24 ranks he was #9 for the Red Sox. I can't even take this seriously.
  5. That sounds like a second or third piece in a potential Cy Young level pitcher trade for most GMs, or for Chris Getz, bingo.
  6. If he wasn't good enough to get a September call up with literally the worst team in MLB history, he'd better hit like .500 in spring if he is going to be the opening day SS.
  7. Is it reasonable to think the Sox outbid the Yankees for Carlos Rodon at peak value?
  8. Actually if Bruce understood analogies, we NEED a Tatis Jr trade here where we come out of it with a superstar in the future after trading our veteran. But C for Effort there Bruce.
  9. This feels like the part of the season we get all excited by these potential trade ideas only to get kicked in the balls, but someone's #4 prospect, #8 prospect and a 2/3 year experienced and overpaid utility player.
  10. If Baltimore WANTS to win a deal, I don't think anyone in baseball can beat them. They have had multiple opportunties to do so, but have refused to so far. If that changes, I will be thrilled. But I just don't see it.
  11. I can't Baltimore being willing to stepping up that much.
  12. More of a generalized fear of his injury history returning to haunt us, versus his inning ramp up.
  13. Well the best indication of the ability to do something is the history of having already done it, so after definitely being wrong on Crochet's stamina last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him at 150 IP this year. I still fear for injury, but less than before.
  14. That at least is a bit more realistic, but I get it.
  15. Not to mention we would have had to extend Sale at market rate AND we would have suffered through a lot of pretty big injury years, and during the meantime we would have had to give a market rate extension to Carlos Rodon, while still trading Jose Quintana at his peak value and performance (while on his cheap extension) and still managed to be in the position to draft Garrett Crochet. It might be a fun thought exercise, but too many wild variables for it to be a realistic one.
  16. Two articles, and still no one asked about his injuries and hitting a fastball.
  17. This honestly makes it worse because the "list" of reasons why greg would be wrong, was 150% wrong.
  18. I see no realistic scenario where all four are in the organization at once. For example, if we don't trade Sale, why do we trade Quintana to wait a few years for Cease to get here and break out, with Sale and Rodon on a big contract?
  19. SkyWayMacDonalds said we are signing Jose Abreu for veteran leadership. Oh wait, that isn't better.
  20. Well nothing replaces the Lawrence Kansas Applebees...
  21. And it’s greg! We are talking about a troll Cub fan here
  22. Yeah, the Hahn era never looked so good.
  23. And we know that the Sox will absolutely lean on players to play through injuries, or leak news about how they aren't team players to the media once they leave.
