  1. Make it 4th then just to make it extra Soxy. It's not like they are picking 10th this year because they picked 5th last year because they were only 3rd worse.
  2. Luckily they had some mid tier free agents so it was really entertaining.
  3. They need the #1 pick in 2026. Maybe the lottery screws them, but being 3rd worst instead of the worst because they played a bunch of guys who will be long gone before they are .500 again would be such a White Sox thing to do.
  4. Rumor was Johnson didn't want Poles around, right?
  5. Not even close. We could have brought in Soto, Burnes and Alonso, and still be fighting to get to .500.
  6. So how many draft slots did it cost these morons to finally win a meaningless game? Will it play them out of the top OLs?
  7. Nobody wants to see this be the worst team in the history of baseball, but we are already here, like it or not. Now the road back starts with what we can develop out of the group that is either already here, or will be in 25. Blocking key evaluations in that process is exactly what we did last year, and here we are trying to figure out who a few of these guys are, all while having a 41 win team. Great. This is so much better.
  8. I mean if you want to operate under the assumption that Chris Getz player development regime with continue to be a complete failure, that is probably a fair assumption.
  9. No I think we have close to 10 guys on the IF who need to be evaluated. Stealing 500 PAs and blocking our top prospect destroys that.
  10. At bats and development. As you ignored a million times.
  11. Expensive? No. A waste? Absolutely. Blocking key players ? 110%
  12. Smith is experienced at pitching late into games, and is a much more polished pitcher than Schultz. In a scenario where he progresses and destroys Charlotte for a couple of months, I would entertain the idea for a Hagen call up, but only after forcing the issue. We don't need to Carlso Rodon him so he spends years at the MLB level learning how to pitch to MLB hitters. Dutch still has so much conditioning and game situations to learn through the early part of his window should be mid to late 26. He has literally never worked with starters stuff. He has literally never thrown more than 68 pitches in a single outing since at least high school or summer leagues in 2022. He didn't thrown any more than 64 pitches in a 2024 outing. Learning to pitch to 100+ pitch outings is every bit as important as how many innings he throws.
  13. 91 losses is still 30 full games better than the Sox. The Cubs also improved from 91 losses to 79 losses from 21 to 24, because of their half assed approach of avoiding the top of their market despite being a top tier revenue franchise.
  14. This is pretty similar to what we have done in recent years using about half to 2/3 of our budget early. According to the experts this is Paddy's last class.
  15. Look when the argument is that we have no future star, and aren't signing a future star to get someone who doesn't even fit this teams competitive window anyway, why are we trying to block the guys we need to evaluate anyway? If none of the guys being blocked are that good anyway, this signing isn't doing anything anyway. Roster filler? Sure. But rushing to sign a non-superstar years before you need them? Why?
  16. Look if you think Kim is Bobby Witt level, I don't see any point to engaging with these absurdities.
  17. The KC Royals had losing seasons going back to 2017. They drafted Witt 2nd because they lost 103 games in 2019. They drafted in the top 10 for six straight years because of how awful they had historically been. They also went 12-1 against the worst team in the history of baseball. Again, I would love too see the argument that the Sox are able to make up nearly 50 games in 2027 based on who they sign in 2024 with any kind of equivalency to how the Sox are similar. Hell even if the Sox made up 30 games based on the absurdity of a middle tier SS this off season, they are still a 91 loss team!
  18. I hope you aren't trying to tell me that Kim is going to be Bobby Witt than either, because if not, again, there is no need to grab anything like a 2nd or 3rd tier player. Again.
  19. Your closer doesn't cover all of those BS. How many of those were 9th inning flops last year? Most of that was middle relief, which again goes to this franchise needing tons of help, and not one guy.
  20. What FAs did they sign in 2021 who were key contributers in 2024? Looks to me like they went out and got the guys they needed immediately before the 24 season to compliment the guys they already had.
