2017 Schedule
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Honestly, if AJ wants to be on a broadcast, he should immediately be a national guy working for Fox or MLB Network. He's already that good. My deep dark hope was that he would eventually replace Steve Stone with Hawk for a year or two before Hawk retired. That would be a booth to listen to.

**2016 TV Watercooler Thread**
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 09:05 AM) I've been watching the 3 part series on Jonbenet Ramsey. It's pretty well done. I was 11 years old when that happened and I remember it but forgot many of the details. I forgot all about this, but I want to see it. Is it worth it?

TV and Netflix Thread
Speaking of Netflix, I know I am a decade behind, but, I just have to say that Season 4 of Arrested Development was an amazingly perfect piece of television. That might have been the best season of a sitcom, ever. Just brilliant writing, and an even better story line.

Season in Review: Great Falls Voyagers
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 10:15 AM) Yes, his bread and butter is a heavy fastball you might call a sinker. Not much velo, but precision control and his pitches move - was told last year he plays with 2 different fastballs, but heavy. I don't know much on his offspeed pitches though. Ok, that makes sense with his numbers showing a good K rate, but a high BAA. With better defense at higher levels, that will probably improve.

Omar Narvaez
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 10:10 AM) And a .690 OPS with his defense is better than your average MLB backup catcher. He's one of the few bright spots this year. And for half a million dollars a year, I would take it in a heartbeat.

Reading Solorzano's stat line, is he a sinker ball pitcher?

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 08:04 AM) With Trump drawing higher ratings and much more coverage, why would they want Clinton? Bigger point, there's a much higher likelihood of war or some random conflict escalating with Trump, and that will play for even higher ratings. Which is crazy, because with pretty much every conflict or failed nation state going on around the world right now, Hillary was in favor of bombing it at some point.

Omar Narvaez
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 08:11 AM) 1 for his last 21, but that's also just 5 games. He wasn't going to keep hitting .340. He is what he is - a probably good backup C. But they should definitely keep playing him this September, get him as much exposure as they can so he's got a little more experience going into 2017. His major league OPS is finally in line with his minor league career average, both just under .700. I think that is a pretty reasonable early ceiling for him offensively.

2017 Schedule
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 07:55 AM) Think it's more likely he calls radio games or does pre/post game show on CSN. Give it a year or two. I would love to see AJ in the booth eventually. I think he would be great at that. Manager or coach? Eh, no.

Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 07:50 AM) trivia: Saladino stole 33 out of 37 in 2015 combined AAA/Majors. There is a difference between being fast, and having good base stealing technique. For example, while fast as hell, Adam Eaton is a terrible base stealer.

Sox in pursuit of Puig
QUOTE (spiderman @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 06:26 PM) What else would Milwaukee be getting for Braun? I thought (but could be mistaken) that he was still a fan favorite in Milwaukee and that the owner liked him. Puig is rumored to be a horrible clubhouse teammate as well. Unless the Brewers are saving significant money and/or receiving 1-2 good prospects, what is the upside to making this trade for them? Milwaukee would be getting out of a long term contract, and freeing up some payroll.

Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) In terms of speed, Anderson > Eaton > Saladino Yeah, I can't recall ever seen Saladino described with top end speed. Maybe a 55 tops? Eaton and Anderson are clearly above him.

Adam Eaton
QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 04:39 PM) Lest anybody take Mike's post seriously, it's a reference to this incredible Haugh column from before the season. Ah yes, I remember that very short period of time where a couple of posters told us that we lost the Eaton/Santiago trade, completely with an idiot in the media picking it up.

Fall Instructional League - Preview
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) I excited to see how the J2 guys come out of this, you always get a better picture of an INTL player after their second go through instructs, like Amado Nunez. I am going to head back west in a month, so I am going to try to hit the complex and maybe see what's going on. There are definitely a few names out of LA that I have never heard of, which is very exciting.

Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) Because he's not an OF and he's doing just fine at 2B? Last time Saladino played the OF, he tore his UCL and needed Tommy John. He has played the OF on three different occasions this season.
