Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
Unless they are willing to pick up large amounts of contracts, it means absolutely nothing. You either have to give up valuable prospects, or you have to assume large financial burdens to get players. If we aren't willing to do either, we are shopping in the discount bin to "add". Granted in places like the pen and rotation, it wouldn't take much to "add", but it won't be front line guys.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Ishbia's main work so far has been bailing out Jerry's operating losses from his mismanagement.

I think the difference is that we have watched Jerry run the Sox as a for profit entity, keeping costs as low as possible, and it still 90 X'd over those 46 years. If he had done it right, this franchise is probably double that value, which far outpaces the SP500. I think people are ready for the latter, because this sure didn't work.

Comiskey was falling apart. I loved that old park, but it wasn't practical to fix up. He was probably going to cost just as much to fix it, as it was to replace it.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
You do understand the concept of investing, right?- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Depends on what you mean by "moneymaker". Not as much year to year profit, but this franchise cost $20 million in 1980. Today it is being sold for $1.8 billion. If JR hadn't run this like a rundown laundry mat, this could have had a valuation of something like double what is is worth currently.- Thoughts on selling high on Meidroth?
Chase has been worth 2.8 bWAR in 822 PAs. Nick was 3.7 in 992. Fwar is 2.7 for Chase, 2.9 for Nick- Thoughts on selling high on Meidroth?
Below average range, UZR, and double plays as a 2B doesn't seem like good skills for a SS. We also know how awful his arm was, even though it didn't rate here.- Thoughts on selling high on Meidroth?
He graded out pretty below average as a 2B, why would they play him at SS, especially when there were much better players there everywhere he went?- 06/22 - Sox vs. Guards - The Return of Teel
I would bet money that the general roles of the relievers (ie who the closer is) is 100% up to Getz, with Will getting the latitude to do what he needs to during a game.- What is up with Grant Taylor
It was also of note that even the CSN post game show did a whole breakdown on how Taylor was way better in save situations, and Anthony was way better in non-save situations. Was kind of surprised to see the questioning of the management on their own network, but it was good information.- What is up with Grant Taylor

Nah, he's an AJ type. If he is on any other team but your own, he is a douchebag. If he is on your team, he is your douchebag. It also doesn't help that he is a low IQ player. Just baseball stupid and overly emotional.- 06/22 - Sox vs. Guards - The Return of Teel

If we have learned anything from the moden political scene, it is much easier to invalidate people versus actually doing the work to debate fact based opinions.- Thoughts on selling high on Meidroth?
He was physically maxed out and picked for his proximity to the majors. Then he ended up being perpetually injured and unable to get any better.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
He convinced Tampa to build it for him.- Montgomery's defense at short...
To be fair, you are chasing people anyone around who questions Acuna over Montgomery as if you are obsessed at correcting anything that questions the White Sox decision making, pretending that nothing has any consequences when people can see differently right in front of them.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
The fallacy that somehow one billionaire is better than another is kind of laughable. I think Sox fans just want one that isn't afraid to spend some of that inheritance. No one has any delusions that Ishbia is some kind of nice guy or something. - “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
