  1. Is this standard or savings Baker Time?
  2. So Perieria wasn't having symptoms a week ago if he is playing now.
  3. It's a feeling, but my guess it that Acuna is benefiting more from selective usage off of the bench than he is having any kind of a major resurgence.
  4. I was thinking Erick Fedde's breakout season, but yeah, something doesn't pass the smell test.
  5. The Testaments was a great follow up to Handmaid. I can't wait to see the next season.
  6. The Alex Honnel climbs Taipei 101 was a fun watch too. It is just wild watching him go.
  7. Will Ferrell is the perfect bit part player. He knocks out of the park about 10 to 15 minutes worth of screen time in a movie. The longer he is on air, the worse it is. Back to the positives, I don't know if anyone else is watching the WWII series with Tom Hanks on History, but it's their best series in quite a while, and one of the better ones they have done on it. The other one I wanted to mention is a YouTube only TV series out of England, but Taskmaster is peak British comedy. It is a reality contest show, but OMG is it hilarious. It has 20 seasons, but my kid turned me on to season 19, because Jason Matzoukas is on it, and it was incredible. I had never heard of it, or anyone else on it, before, but I laughed out loud at least 2 to 3 times per episode.
  8. That's what crazy. you think they would be more like 21-11 with NOT splitting guys between two teams.
  9. Jerry probably bites as it saves him on next year
  10. This is not journalism. Almost all of the talking heads on these shows are not journalists, at least not in the roles in front of the camera. They are there to put on a show and draw people in. It's not about content, it is about eyeballs. It's Jerry Springer for sports fans.
  11. It's outrage porn for people who need who have perpetual need to be offended.
  12. If it weren't for the rest of the roster issues, it wouldn't be a bad claim for the Sox. They need SP innings, badly.
  13. I know nostalgia is in, and those look backs to our childhood, as we are the target audience, but man I hated that original TV series in the 80s. The books were decent, but definitely boring for very long stretches, but the TV series was based on the worst part of the series. This is one I will definitely skip out on.
  14. Yep, again the draft is the sum of the parts not each individual round. In this case is probably worth pointing out that the senior signings are the ones making room for this choice and dollar amount to happen. Without them, they probably don't have this money.
  15. The real change was waking Jerry up. For the first time in his life, he is willing to spend on something outside of the major league roster. There are all kinds of stories out there about other people in the org hinting that they wanted to do more, and acting like they were doing more, which ended up being complete lies sold to us by a compliant local media, including even Getz himself talking about how much freedom he had to do anything he wanted. Hopefully this continues.
  16. That's like saying a Sox fan is for likely to pick a Cub because he is from Chicago, which is complete fantasy. Philly HATES NYC, they would pick the crust in their asscrack over someone from New York.
  17. The Stadium Authority would have nothing to do with the properties that have been mentioned.
  18. You think a New York Yankee won the MVP because he was in Philadelphia? WTAF?
  19. I think Thome was happening no matter what. The whole world knew it. Guessing this fit his slot bonus better, and their intel was that Thome might not make it to 41 (Yankees at 35) while Prosek would. Prosek DID make it through.
  20. Or the players cave on those issues since they aren't MLBPA yet.
  21. They are also looking for fixed slots, less rounds, and everything else.
  22. It's probably a combination of worry about other teams picking one over the other, plus knowing each players signing demands, and it might have worked better in one order versus the other.
  23. Sure, but they won't be in the draft again until after that point. For almost all of them, their next bite at the apple is after their Junior year.
