So apparently Grayson Rodriguez is Spanish for Mike Sirotka. -
Forget it, he's rolling.

The is the complete opposite area of the White Sox fan base. -
Better be careful here, the thought police will come for you.

Have you talked to Caulfield before? This is who he has been for the better part of 20 years now.

It has been said multiple times that Getz was not allowed to fire anyone who was under a multi-year contract, and that was why these guys were just now fired. It was being used as an excuse that these guys didn't have their people, and that's what these changes were about, and why this was the timing. If you want to dismiss that a "conspiracy" I suppose you go girl.

That's also fair, but there is a decent chance that by the time Carlson is getting here and looking to establish himself, if Montgomery is still a thing, and pans out like he showed in his hot streak, he is looking at a $500 million contract very soon. At the very least, but the time Carlson gets here, he is decently into his arb years.

100% agree here. -
I don't know how long Carlson would take to get here, but I have to imagine we are talking probably 2029 for a raw high school bat, even with his supposed gold glove type skills defensively. Caleb Bonemer is probably more of a late 27 to early 28 track if he keeps going, so I don't think that is a worry in the near future, but could definitely see that happen in a couple of years.

Looking at his status, Vargas actually hits arb next year, so I wonder if there is something to his name showing up on a list like this as more of the Sox floating him out there, versus someone actually asking about him.
-
Looking back to confirm, Vargas ranked 16th of 18 qualified primary 3B's this year with his 1.3 fWAR. The two that trailed were Minny and LAA. Pushing it out to 400 PAs instead of qualified, Vargas sits at 22 of 28, with probably the Mets as the only team being represent as a potential playoff team for 26. (others include LAA, STL-2, MN-2)
-
That's a great way of saying it as well. Looking around MLB, how many teams 3B or 1B situation is worse than Vargas? How many of those teams would be willing to pay up to get him? I can't imagine that list is very populated.

I don't see Vargas having the value to make him worth trading rn, to be honest.
