Honestly if I were a player I would be trying like crazy to get a deal done before those, because they sure sound like they want to destroy the market. Hell maybe that is the separation between the two parties, who knows.

Literally the only connection the Sox have to "Nashville" is Jerry talking to MLB about them. Why did he do it? He did it as a favor to his bestie TLR in hoping to get his ownership consortium picked to run an Nashville expansion team. He has nothing to do with looking to move the Sox there. I always felt the physical separation of the Kennedy kind of made a nice line. Then you get into places like Greektown and such, it kind of loses the downtowny vibe.

The balancing act becomes does Vargas want to give up FA years, and how many years are the Sox willing to buy out, and at what price. It is one of the lowest regarded parks in professional sports, and it does what it needs to do, and not much more.
