It's one year and he is gone. Do the smart thing and rake another org and set yourself to win for the next five years. Hell, they probably still win the division, and there are plenty of other arms they can still sign.
-
Eh, I don't support letting the fans run the organization. As Stacey King tells us, if you're scared, get a dog.

Honestly the baller thing to do would be to trade Skubal now and cut your losses, but grab someone's top 5 to do it. Absolutely reload. Take a hit today to own the AL Central in the future.

They just burned that bridge and pissed on the ashes with their action through the arb cycle.

If he pitches like himself this year, the Tigers will get 3 to 4 guys, including a Frontline one if they choose to move him. Pitching is always insane at the deadline.
-
Unlike the Sox, the Tigers will absolutely load up on this trade, when it eventually happens

He was never coming back after the number the Tigers submitted to start this

No first round picks. You almost have to try to be that bad. -
Sox swing and a miss with black history month graphic
southsider2k5 replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Look I think not a fan of Jerry, but the idea that he is writing press releases for Black History month seems patently absurd on the surface. -
This is the comment I have been waiting for... not the oddly insecure ones.

Eh, I totally forgot he was a compensation signing. That moves me from Eh to Hell No.

We haven't exactly had much luck lately taking on skilled pitchers that no one else wants.

Just remembered the story that supposedly Chris Getz forced the pick of Hagen Smith over the scouts pick of Konnor Griffin.

It signals they have no long term plans. This is patch work to stay in the end of the playoffs ceiling mode. -
For my two cents, we talk about the Shields deal in terms of sending a really young unproven prospect in return for an older, low ceiling pitcher, and then even with the regime change, just did the same thing again in the Fajardo/Boozer deal. We want to talks about making unforced errors, let's do it. Also keep in mind that when we added Boozer, they weren't looking to try to get to the playoffs, just not getting to another historic loss season, so the trading of young players was even more absurd.

The oh so profitable Bulls are more worried about getting expiring deals to free up cash versus getting some picks to actually do something here. -

Still no draft picks? Come on. -
The funny thing we don't even know that Shirley is still here because Getz wants him, or because his contract hasn't run out yet, since Jerry still isn't giving him the keys to the organization fully. He still is facing the same things that took down the last administration in the form of little handcuffs from ownership.

Weird. Fire the interns.
