  1. My expectation for this off season is that they at the very least sign Grandal, going from #92/105 in Castillo & Narvaez to #3 in pitch framing would be a huge impact on our young staff. Outside of that, yes I want them to go hard after Machado but if he doesn't want to come here so be it. Spend as little of money as possible getting someone like Pomeranz or even reupping with Shields to hold the 5th spot in the rotation till Cease or Dunning is ready early-mid season.
  2. I've been a huge advocate of Luis Gonzalez since draft day even calling the sox picking him. If everything clicks we're looking at Mark Kotsay / Ender Inciarte / Adam Eaton, but he isn't the best OF in the system let alone defensive CF, hes third behind Basabe & Robert
  3. exactly just leave him and kopech down till mid april next year, I'm more concerned about an extra year of control and both of them being super 2 and trying to get the #1 pick; sox are six back of Baltimore.
  4. If everything breaks right for Basabe i think Aaron Hicks is a fair comp.
  5. I have him 6th in my rankings 1.) Eloy 2.) Kopech 3.) Robert 4.) Cease 5.) Madrigal 6.) Basabe 7.) Dunning 8.) Rutherford 9.) Hansen 10.) Collins 11.) Adolfo 12.) Gonzalez 13.) Burger 14.) Steele 15.) Burdi
  6. Exactly, Soria if the sox ship money and pick up the freight for his option has roughly 15-18M in surplus value if you think he is a 1.75-2.25 fWAR reliever and has shown success both his year and last. 15-18M in surplus value is roughly a top 100(70-100) arm or bat when you leverage the deadline as a tax. Soria alone should be bring back more than Britton who hasn't done anything since '16.
  7. Avisail Garcia to the Phillies for RHP Adonis Medina & LHP McKenzie Mills. The Phillies are in a position where they find themselves atop the NL east and need some corner outfield help, Avi would play well in their park and be and upgrade over Nick Williams, while not being a rental. Garcia offers a fair bit of upside and a one less thing to worry about for them going into the off season, provided he can stay healthy. James Shields & Xavier Cedeno and cash to the Red Sox for LHP Jason Groome & SS Antoni Flores, with san diego and the sox picking up all the freight neither is a "rental" per se. Boston needs a 4/5 and a bit more bullpen help especially from the left side. Groome has lost a ton of his prospect shine due to injury and is likely in the 125-150 range or prospects at this point. Flores is an interesting 17 year old international signing that might be moved off of SS in the future that is putting up numbers outside the states. Joakim Soria & Luis Avilan to the Rockies for 3B Colton Welker & LHP Breiling Eusebio, again neither is a "rental" per se. Rockies need help in their bullpen if they plan on staying in the thick of it in the NL west. The A's got Familia for a song and I don't expect that to be the case for the rest of the deadline.
  8. this is all ive wanted out of this season forward progression from the future core. Palka the new hotness
  9. No, Tucker has a surplus value of $65.6M
  10. As I said in previous Abreu threads, the market for 1B/DH bats is the thinnest its been in years. Abreu should command two back end top 100 prospects or one back end, one top 150ish and something interesting. Astros - OF/1B Yordan Alvarez + LHP Cionel Perez + SS/2B Jonathan Arauz Rockies - 3B Colton Welker & RHP Peter Lambert Dodgers - OF Yusniel Diaz + RHP Dennis Santana + LHP Caleb Ferguson Yankees - have a need but don't quite match up with them Angels - SS Kevin Maitan + 2B Jahmai Jones

  12. I'm ok with the sox taking Rutschman as it provides insulation in a similar sense as Madrigal. Its entirely possible he will be the BPA or in the grey area for BPA where we will be picking next year. Madrigal affords the sox a quick to the majors bat that could potentially move Moncada off to 3B if they fail to land Manny or Nolan in the next two FA classes. Rutschman provides organizational insulation if Collins can't stick behind the dish except in a Gattis or Schwarber like fashion and Seby is destined as a back up, then the sox are forced to either sign a FA like Grandal next year and I doubt that will come cheap or the dodgers will let him go before Ruiz is ready or draft someone like Rutschman who i'm on completely on board with. time to dream on a future sox 2020 line up 2B - Madrigal 3B - Moncada# RF - Jimmenez 1B - Collins* (I say this as a proponent of Collins staying behind the dish until its proven he can't) DH - Davidson C - Rutschman# CF - Robert LF - Rutherford* SS - Anderson
  13. Orioles (18-41) - Bobby Witt Jr., SS, Heritage HS, Colleyville, Texas. White Sox (19-39) - Adley Rutschman, C, Oregon State Reds (21-40) - Hunter Barco, LHP, The Bolles School, Jacksonville Royals (21-40) - Shea Langeliers, C, Baylor Marlins (21-39) - Braden Shewmake, SS, Texas A&M
  14. I for one welcome our new beaver overlords #Rush2Rutschman
  15. I would love to see them draft Garrett Wade at 318.
  16. If Palka can stick in the show I think we're looking at a good/better/best situation like this: Michael Morse, Matt Adams, Adam LaRoche.
  17. If they can round off the first ten rounds of the draft off with Bartnicki or Garrett McDaniels. That would would be awesome. So far really like the approach, really like the prep picks even though they're incredibly raw. I'm a fan of the Perez pick as well if we can get another Fry or Bummer that'd be great value for an 8th round pick.
  18. If that's what it takes to land this generations Brooks Robinson...yeah. hoping he ages like beltre
  19. I'm fine with an opt out as well, but to your point it has to be after three years. I'm ok going 30 35 40 opt 45 45 opt 45 35 35 opt 25 25 25
  20. Here is who I'm hoping for at 108 Blaze Alexander Luke Bartnicki Mason Montgomery
