The only reason Clevinger went unclaimed is because he was owed the buyout, and he had just returned from injury. If the deadline was today, and he didn’t have that mutual buyout, multiple teams would hold their noses and claim him. Since he wasn’t suspended or anything, a team will pay him. I think you're right. Before they put all the concession stands on the field side of the concourse, there were quite a few.

I have no problem with people ripping JR. He has earned every bit. But piling on with Dave Wilder is a bit nuts.

To be honest with you, I don’t see anything Dave Wilder said to be relevant. He was a minority outsider hired by the White Sox, something he said JR refused to do. He also said no one ever tried to get his side of his story until now. Total BS. I did a quick google search, and there is an article stating the Tribune asked for his side, he hung up. If anything, Wilder being an outsider, stealing from JR, might make JR even less likely to hire unknown people. His race plays no part. If he was white and did what he did, he wouldn’t be in baseball right now. Dave Wilder is a disgrace, and he still thinks although what he did was technically wrong, he has a legit excuse for it. How come no one else has hired him? He is blaming JR for his troubles. He just loved that someone gave him a chance to be relevant again. I’m sure after this article, if any team was even tempted to give him a low level role, they are tempted no more.

He has until next spring to improve. Despite all that is wrong with him, Pedro penciled him in the starting line up 66 times this season. I was excited after watching Pedro get introduced last winter. But it turns out he is a really bad manager. Someone who could probably use a trip to the minors himself.

You also have to have the neighborhood sign off on it, and Bridgeport will not. They don’t want that. And really, does it even make sense economically? I read something about Goose Island Brewery who once had a place by Wrigley. They wanted to stay, but lost their lease. Their landlord didn’t want a long term committment. They wanted to go month to month. Goose Island said no because even in Wrigleyville with 40k there every game, and a more dense population within a 2 or 3 mile radius, Goose Islamd said they lost money during the offseason. If the landlord pulled their lease right before the season started, they lose a ton of money. For this type of thing to work, they would need a new area in the city or some suburb with the Bears.
