The Mariners have 2 eight game winning streaks this month. The Sox had 1 seven game winning streak during Rick Hahn's 11 seasons as a GM.

They thought they had jobs for life or until JR croaked.

I'd go with Randy Flores assitant GM with the Cardinals. He has helped draft and develop a lot of players, and he doesn't have to have a top 4 pick to do so.

Yeah so,eome needs to do the token GM stuff now. Once a new guy is in place, he or she will want their people. That’s when hopefully the vast majority of the remaining dopes are flushed. That’s for Pedro.

I would be more stunned if Getz gets the job than I am with the moves today. You don’t clean house only to hire in house. Especially with a guy that has been questionable in his job at best. Ultimately JR made this decision , but someone convinced him this was the move to make. I wonder who it was. Other investors? Hawk? LaRussa? His son? Steve Stone? It was someone.

He is safe for now. JR didn’t want to pay another intern guy. But keep in mind, there was a report not too long ago where JR didn’t seem too enamored with Pedro. Certainly not at the level that Hahn and KW were. Ultimately the new GM decides who the manager is. I like Randy Flores for the job. He can draft. I really don’t see how they possibly can go internal. The guy on channel 2 said they will have this singular position filled by the end of the season.
