69 Cubs or 22 Sox?
I think this team is more like the 1984 White Sox than any other Sox team they have been compared. Huge expectations. TLR in the dugout. Can't hit. Can't catch, can't pitch when they have to pitch. IIRC, they started slowly, won a bit at the All Star break. Got a game or two over .500 and I think were in first place, before they started playing like they played most of the season again.

White Sox Interested in Mahle/Castillo?
I get that, and you are most likely correct, although there are many players that just can't handle NYC. But I would definitely trade Pollock for him. You might be stuck with Pollock another year for 8 figures if he stays around.

7/6 Twins @ Sox, 1:10 PM
Leury is a big time player. Don't look at the results. That's too easy.

Rick Hahn - Mastermind of Failure
Couldn't agree more. There is no question Rick is a smart guy, but there are plenty of smart guys that can't build championship baseball teams, and he has proven it many times he's one of them. Everything you wrote is true. How can they blame injuries when the same guys get hurt every year?

Eloy back, Burger, VV to IL, Lambert recalled, Mendick to 60 day IL
It's too easy to play withj a complete roster. That's why the Sox manager is the best. He makes everything complicated.

GT 7/5: MIN @ SOX, The day after
The Sox paid him the same amount they paid Rodon last year. He’ll be a revelation. As bad as this season has been for the team, it pales in comparison to the train wreck of an off-season Hahn had. Just brutal. He clearly can’t get the Sox where they want to go, and neither can Tony.

Notice: We're about to get hot
It was a nice thought.

GT 7/5: MIN @ SOX, The day after
The offense didn't show up for the biggest series of the season. It isn't like they are facing Cy Young type guys

Eloy rehab starts again 6/21
I really don't blame the Sox or Eloy for this dragging out. It seems the team doctors think he can play with it, and Eloy wasn't comfortable. If he's not comfortable, he's going to favor it and screw something else up. I think he'll be ready to contribute soon after his return.

Fire Tony Chant
Even Leury had admitted he's sucked.

2021-22 NBA Thread
Especially the Bulls. Look at all the shit the Bulls fans sat through while lining JRs pockets with cash. If he’s afraid of the tax, they aren’t going to win. I hope the people wHo give him all their money realize it and stop going to games, Get back to pre Jordan where they are lucky to draw 6k.

Not caring about results because that is too easy is all the proof you need this guy is all about trying to show everyone how smart he thinks he is rather than winning a baseball game.

They also hired his father as an assistant coach.

Shane Riordan's interview with Rick Hahn
True, although it is interesting he's admitted to punching file cabinets because of LaRussas curious moves. Bringing LaRussa back was one of the most shortsighted moves in MLB history. It shortened the window. Hopefully it's not closed for good, but I imagine it's closed until he leaves.

Retool Time
I thought Vaughn has zero value, being a H 1B/DH and all. Why wouldn't you trade him if someone offered value?

These are not the Chicago White Sox
When original board members die, they do not get replaced. It just gets smaller and smaller.

These are not the Chicago White Sox
The weird thing is, with Allen Thomas, who was obviously the fall guy for all the leg injuries last year, they didn't used to have many leg injuries at all. Something must of changed, and whatever was done to try to correct it this year made it worse.

These are not the Chicago White Sox
I was at the game yesterday. The Sox had a Cy Young type guy on the mound vs. a journeyman at best. I was so happy they won. And it was a squeaker to a very mediocre team. It's pretty pathetic. I had figured they would get it going eventually. I don't believe that anymore. They are just a mediocre team. It seems all the life has been sucked out of them.

Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?
They basically admit they, even with a full roster aren't good enough to win a championship. I heard on the telecast Saturday Steve saying how warm it was when the bats were clicking. If it has to be pushing 100 degrees for them to hit, how would that work out in October?

Fire Tony Chant
The Sox have an opportunity here for a fairly free look. If Tony quits or is asked to leave at the end of the season, he almost assuredly will be replaced by someone in house. That’s what they do. I’ll go with Cairo as the odds on favorite. Tony walks around with one shoulder higher than the other, tell people he is walking away for physical reasons, everyone will know it’s BS but who cares? Make Cairo the interim, see how the team reacts. If they get hot, you bring him back and everyone is happy. If he’s bad, you just saved yourself a mistake. At this point even JR has to know that if this team somehow gets really hot, it’s not going to be because of Tony. It won’t happen. It makes too much sense, and JR has chosen Tony over the team.
