  1. One of Getz' biggest errors was not firing Pedro sooner. They obviously would have still been last, but a month or two earlier, they don't set the loss record. That more than covers the extra cost.
  2. Still, a D average gets you a sheepskin. Getz should be going into his Junior year, but is still a Freshman to me.
  3. Gordon Beckham 2009 vs. Gordon Beckham the rest of his career. Montgomery looks like a keeper now, his HR rate could be cut in half and it's still high, but things happen.
  4. Exactly. .413 is a 95 loss season after the cherry pick.
  5. I agree. Everyone playing well and you still lose. He got the job because JR needed something fast. He took over a 101 loss team. Now its a 102 loss team. Not good. They win more games next year and Schultz and Smith rebound, he can get a better grade, but right now it's F, although I really like Teel.
  6. Last year they won 5 out of the last 6 to get to 41. Schriffen basically says almost every player is finishing the year strong. If they are all playing well and they are 2-12; this nightmare will never end.
  7. Hopefully, but the one thing we know about pitching is some of those guys have been hurt, some will get hurt. Recoveries vary.
  8. 10 games worse than the next worse team in the AL, and that team traded half there roster at the deadline. Great hire JR. Can't waste a year.
  9. They make such a big deal about winning games now giving them confidence and momentum for next season. Last year they won 5 of their last 6.
  10. Fried vs. Ellard/Cannon Is one of the biggest mismatches of the season.
  11. Cannon is just awful. Hope he has a decent winter.
  12. The Bulls are satisfied with what used to be called NBA hell. Not good enough to win it all, and not bad enough to draft high enough to get good enough. But this is money maker time. The still almost sell out. They could eek out a home playoff game or two, which is very lucrative, never get into luxury tax, which in the NBA means you get a cut of all who do, and count your millions.
  13. I just think they have been so bad, people are numb. Most likely 100 losses. Even when they cherry pick the All Star break as the new starting point, they have played at a 70-92 pace. Still horrid. Hopefully something changes nexr year. When they pitch well, they can't hit, or when they pitch and hit well, they can't field, or when they hit well, they can't pitch...It's always something.
  14. That's what i don't get. The other day he was going on about what a fun season it was and how good the team is. They could win out and have the worst record in the AL and the second worst in baseball.
  15. Well, the hope is gone. From mlb.com: “He’ll be back for 2026,” said Boyer of Schriffen. “John is enthusiastic. He’s sometimes, and maybe this could be a detriment, he’s in it with the guys. He has created good relationships with the players ... that’s part of what we have to do as an organization. You tell stories about these guys. “So, I’m comfortable, confident that moving forward, he’s going to continue to do that. He has worked very hard at connecting with fans. Didn’t connect with fans as well last year as he did this year. That’s always a work in progress. When you look at our broadcast last year compared to this year, it’s a significant difference. I’m pleased with that.”
  16. You just gave a lecture stating you don’t lecture.
  17. They are still an awful baseball team. Hopefully, they can just be bad next year, but that will take some luck.
  18. Even when they are awful, it’s amazing how fast it goes.
  19. Reading Bob today, and Manfreds attempy at NFL level revenue sharing, I think we may be stuck with this dope another season unless they replace him with McKnight, which would be fine by me. At least he seems to have a clue about the game.
  20. I agree. He didn’t deserve the job, but since he had no previous experience as a lead MLB announcer, he works for cheap, and does what he’s told no matter how obnoxious the request, like what was mentioned calling Vargas a star.
  21. I think the 78 is out. Maybe they go to the Lincoln Yards site. I think most of the ownership has passed and they haven’t had anything there. Right next to the Kennedy and Metra stop.
  22. He does seem like a nice guy, but I agree, time for him to go. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports-media/2025/09/18/white-sox-john-schriffen-steve-stone-gordon-beckham-chicago-sports-network-mike-mccarthy-marquee-sports-network
  23. I think at this point, you buy him out. If you want to bring him back, givehim something similar to this year, maybe a little less since he couldn’t answer the bell. Who knows what this latest problem is. That could make it a no brainer.
