  1. Great to win but again no runs the last five innings of the game. I have been on edge all season but after weathering the injuries it felt inevitable since mid-June Now let's hope for the best in the playoffs.
  2. I was at the last three games of 2008 including the blackout game and the two playoff games. Was with my 7 year old at the Sunday playoff game. He is now 20 and a die hard. The last 10 years of White Sox baseball have been a slog. Last year was an awakening and now we are all Woke. While this site can bring you down this is a team to like and the arrow is going in the right direction. None of us are happy with the last few weeks/ months but I know I will flip the switch when there is an asterisk next to the Sox name in the standings. I recall an ABC 7 special in 1983 on the Sox, I have it on Betamax somewhere. I need to go find that.
  3. This lineup exacerbates not getting a bat at the deadline as Vaughn at 100% doing what he was doing at his best would make a huge difference. LFG
  4. If I was younger I would be driving east down I 80 right now at 85 MPH. I get the frustration with this team but to give up on them is insane. It isn ot just this board it is Sox fans in general. Look at the Padres or the Reds and see what it really looks like to be disappointed in your team. Same with Seattle, Oakland and one of Boston, Toronto or New York. As recently as July the cubs had a batter record than the Cardinals and yet they threw their team in the garbage.
  5. For some reason I like that better for the White Sox.
  6. I posted this in the game thread yesterday. The White Sox are last in baseball in runs scored from the 7th inning on. That to me will be the downfall of this team. They do not add on runs later and thus the opponent seems to be allowed to hang in there. At some point in the late spring the Sox lead baseball in run differential when that changed so did the appearance of this team. I do not know what is going to happen but those are the things that concern me currently.
  7. Bullpen usage today is a joke. LaRussa does love to use every guy on his team. I'm sure Goodwin will somehow get in this game before Sheets. The White Sox are last in baseball in runs scored after the 7th inning....well tied for 29th now with the Texas Rangers. That is my main issue with this team.
  8. They may score here and even win the game but this is the epitome of the last few months. Just no rallies late in a game.
  9. This game will end with 2 Ks and four infield groundouts but it will be Tony LaRussa's fault. If they are swept out of the playoffs they need to look at the offensive make up of this team. There are just too many terrible at bats in every game and zero adjustments made.
  10. This game is 100% on the offense not the bullpen or the manager, same as last night and same as Saturday. You can blame LaRussa all you want but they are not hitting and are having shit at bats and have done so since what feels like the end of May when they led the league in run differential. Remember those days.
  11. Is it punting a game because the offense cannot score? At some point the the focus needs to move from the manager and the bullpen and be placed where it belongs, on the offense and the inability to consistently have good at bats. This is the third game in five days where our superstars are nowhere to be found. So who do you blame the manager and the bullpen. The offense cannot open a lead and if they do, they cannot build upon it. The same bullpen arms cannot pitch every game.
  12. Why not they don't have much success when they elect to not bunt.
  13. Yet again if the offense does not improve that will be this team's downfall. There are just way too many bad at bats every game.
  14. I just want a W and Dallas to be serviceable.
  15. This guy looks hittable so he should breeze through 5 rather easily.
  16. He can eat innings which is what they need over the next 12 games.
  17. Bernstein has some thing about how they are handling Kimbrel. The only concern at this point is Rodon and health everything else is bullshit crybaby nonsense.
  18. That would be great news.
  19. The Sox inability to hit a bullpen and shoddy defense is the issue. Kimbrel has not pitched good at all but he has not had any help with the defense. Sheets last night and Robert in the Boston game. He is not giving up multiple runs which is what I think is important. Again though, the White Sox are stymied by any bullpen arm.
  20. If there is no structural damage to his shoulder then there is still hope. Bring him back next week against he Reds and see what happens.
  21. Go look at Kimbrels game logs. For some reason I still think he will be effective in the playoffs. not sure why I think this but I do. He is not getting his ass handed to him nightly it is one runner that always seems to come around to score. Robert and Sheets did him no favors recently.
  22. He had a few of them...so did Jenks. Kimbrel is the kind of guy that can be the Hermanson/El Duque of the 05 team. I think it is still there. He doesn't get blown out he just gives up a run it is odd.
  23. Joe Crede got hot at the right time.
  24. This team will go as far as the offense takes them. Giolito is back to the from they needed. I think Rodon is going through a dead arm thing. him saying he is healthy does nothing he needs to prove it. Cease your table is ready. Maybe Dallas gets the magic back. Oddly though I think Kimbrel will be fine also. The offense is still the thing that worries me.
