No. Montreal will just about give Hernandez away.

If they get Nomar, watch. Well we have Jose Uribe so we have that going for us.

If second place in this crap division is a measure of success well then we are successful. I canceled my season ticket plan for next year (ranged from 27 to 81 games since 1991.) I will go to games as a casual fan this season, maybe 5. The casual fan will probably go to 1 or 2. The Sox will not draw 1.5M with the current team. Fans are tired ot the BS the owner who professes he wants to win but refuses to understand what it takes. Signing your players and taking risk is a major part of the game and he ruses to accept this. He wants guarantees (incentive based contracts,) and will not take the risk.

We did this and what happened (white flag?) This team is a disgrace and embarassment to the city along with the Hawks, Bulls and Bears. Why isn't Terry Francona our manager, yet the second most intense team in baseball will hire him? Our owner refuses to risk money. We talk about how we have to blow up a team with teh $60M payroll. Teams are trying to cut $60M out of their payroll. We are a f***ing joke and a sorry excuse of an organization. There is no way Ozzie Guillen should be anywhere near running a team. Here is our line-up; Harris-Rowand-Thomas-Orodnez-Lee-Konerko-Crede-Valentin-Olivo Our rotation and bullpen suck. With a $65M in payroll we would walk away with this division but our owner is a complete piece of s*** that refuses to try and win. This is why we have lost a good portion of a decent minor league team(7) and major league team (6) from last year for nothing. This organization is a disgrace. Oh, and they think I am going to pay $500 for additional enjoyment for this crap next season. They are looney.

In 1997 I paid $10 for my seat. This up coming year they want $24. Sorry but that ain't gonna happen. The are losing season tickets holders quicker than the Blackhawks. Man they really know how to piss people off. If Bart is back I will reconsider. I want my seat price to move like their budget, bottom half of baseball pricing, where are they???

How many starts has Colon missed in his career? How is he any more of an injury risk than Vazquez? The money they save on Javier over Colon will be moot as Javier is a FA after this season. They also need to replace Johnson who was cheap. I felt that Colon for the $$$ and no talent being given up is better than Vazquez.

Baseball has resorted to this; There is no set formula for winning so let's try to drop our salary and hope for the best. Except the Yanks and Cubs. We could be really close again but we do nto spend and it is more obvious than ever. why would the Yanks go after Vazquez and not Colon. There is something fishy there. Is there an agreement with the Sox and Colon that can not be signed until someone goes? Konerko/Valentin for Perez/Izturis then resign Everett and Colon..... I hope it is something like this.
-
Did Santana blow out his arm? I thought He and Radke would be as solid a one-two as there was. Those two carried the Twins to the division.

Yanks working dilligently for Javier Vasquez

Corg doesn't like Bart. Bart is the key to our season, simple as that. With Bart, all other non-pitching moves are irrelevant. -
Do the White Sox have to offer salary arbitration to their free agents Monday in order to recieve compensation via draft picks? It will be interesting to see how Everett, Alomar and Colon are handled in these cases as they all will seek payroll increases. I think we will lose Everett and Alomar with no compensation and am very interested to see what happens with Colon. If they offer no arbitration we recieve nothing and he can not play with us until May. Is this correct?

He is a very good bunter and great defensive player. Weren't these two of our weaker points last year? Sounds like a decent move in the mold of D'Angelo Jimenez.
-
Looking at Meaux, why has he never been spoken of here? His control looks good. I don't understand why he is not thought of along the lines of Pachero, Sanders or like Ring was.
-
Let's see it will cost them Zambrano, there goes a big piece of the rotation. The loss of A-Rod pits the Rangers agaisnt the Cubs for Wood after next season. Who wins Tex???? Players are attracted to their Texas homes. Trading for A-Rod would be yet another blow to the Sosa ego as well. In two years A-Rod $27M; Sosa $18M; Prior $10+M(?) I think his deal was three years; Wood $15M on FA market; Clement (at current level) $8M = $78M good luck filling out this team.

Don't the fish have an option/arbitration on Pavano? I do nto beleive is free to the open market as of yet. If so, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I like this kind of chatter, wheather it is true or not who cares it makes the day a little better. Lee for Perez Koch for Cedeno +$$ for salary differences Sign Fernando Vina and Sid Ponson Ordonez for Soriano/Weaver
-
I think it could be both as the Angels need starting pitching. The problem with this trade is we still have a poor rotation. Until we address starting pitching, these types of moves are just treading water. I would think with these moves, why not try and enter the Nomar race?
-
I thought we were getting to young as well but Caveman and Nossek are pretty good minds I guess. Would've liked Leyva.

Barbershop quartets played in front of the stadium.

Not sure why I hate this move but it looks more and more like a bunch of 20 year olds taking over a Pony league team and everyone looking like morons. Welcome to the 2004 White Sox. If you told me this at the All-Star break, I would've laughed really hard. This team never fails to embarass themselves. Good way to surround yourself with baseball minds. I do not envy Joe Nossek. Combined experience at each level of coaching at the major league level; Cooper (1 1/2 yr.) Santana (1 yr) Walker ( 1/2 yr) Cora (0yr) Guillen (0 yr) Nick Leyva, hell Bruce Kimm would've looked better. The lack of respect in the locker room from the players for this group is going to be a f***ing joke. welcome to 1987.
-
That was his role with the Angels. They didn't think he could do the job, not sure why we think he can all of a sudden. The Angels had a solid bullpen and crappy rotation and still didn't want him in there.

Podsednik is a stud, they do have a bunch of good kids. How old is he? I liked Alex Sanchez a ton, who did they get for him?
-
The Brewers system definitely has taken a turn for the better. From AA down, it is pretty well stocked with potential high impact prospects. Wonder if this means Roland Hemond may be cutting back or leaving? or we found our replacement for KW.

I purposed this a week or so ago. I would also look into getting the Red Sox involved and try and get Nomar while shifting cash around. Rangers - Manny +$5M a season for remainder of K from Boston = ($10M payroll) Sox - A-Rod = $0 payroll affect this year Boston - Maggs/Konerko - $5M to Texas = $25M in salary but free up cash for Nomar and Pedro in future year. This sounds goofy but it is kind of off the top of my head.

Next up, Director of Player Development and Financal Control for the Tigers?
-
Excuse me... I said it was BULL s***. How do you know "Love Sidney?" I actually am kind of starting to like him. Sure KW will f*** it up.
