  1. that thread just got killed on the sox board. :headshake
  2. every time a pitcher throws crede an off-speed pitch, middle in, joe should send him a fruit basket cause that is the only pitch joe can hit right now.
  3. i thought this was going to be about the fact that we lost 12-0 and the twins won 12-0.
  4. does anyone know the last time a white sox catcher didn't bat last? and i'm not talking about interleague play. do you have to go back to fisk? or karko? i believe even charles johnson batted ninth during his time here.
  5. thanks. now i can just wait for the crew to tell me "crede will be fine"
  6. ya know, i don't have a favorite sox player. when a player plays well i cheer. when they mess up i boo. very simple. i have my own opinions on who i think will do well and who will continue to stink it up. i have no idea why greg walker hasn't totally revamped willie and crede's swings. can greg walker work with a non-power hitter? why are our pitchers always getting killed when they throw a change-up? is coop to blame? who is calling the pitches? i don't know the answers but i'll be watching the game tonite hoping for everyone to play well and for the sox to win. this is what i do know, i cheer and boo thier actions, not the players themselves. so when i curse crede in the privacy of my own home when he tries to pull everything with his uppercut swing i'm criticising the action, not the person.
  7. i think people were just reacting to his comments comparing himself to freddy. freddy has put some solid seasons together. esteban has had one great season. in 2003 esteban's season was probably top five by a sox pitcher in the last 10 to 20 years maybe more. he gets mucho credit for that. but it's just one season, and when he says that in the past he is glad that freddy signs before he does because they are comparable, someone is going to call that bs.
  8. All White Sox players should be beloved. They should be cheered mightily whether they hit a game winning home run or strike out with the bases loaded. They are above reproach, and should never be questioned. They should be put on a pedestal because you can't do what they do. If you do not act in this manner than you are not a fan. If you do, you are a ripper of players and a douche bag. If you bring up anything negative after a White Sox winner you are a b****er and moaner and you should STFU! We should discontinue this message board and appoint someone to make a happy post of the day. Then we could all come here and read it and think happy little White Sox thoughts. It would save us all so much time and it would end the anguish and wringing of hands over all of the horrible negativity here. I hope that my capitalization and punctuation portray my seriousness and the respect I should be given.
  9. first half busts on my team morgan ensberg - i thought he would hit 35 hr's this year orlando cabrera - just having an awful awful year carlos delgado - injured hopefully he can come back strong first half stars of my team sean casey - picked up when dmitri young got hurt, he's been huge carl crawford - keep it up carl! armando benitez - same abreu & bonds - solid years i'm in fourth place of a ten team keeper league. also i traded manny right before he got smoking hot for alfonso soriano, right now it doesn't look good, hopefully sori really turns it on.
  10. he may be doing that. or maybe someone is fillling his head with ideas that he and freddy garcia are comprable. or maybe he really believes himself to be a legit #1, ya know with his two all-star appearances, and his high win totals. plus i don't think ozzie and esteban are on the same page. ozzie has made comments in the past that esteban needs to step up, concentrate, etc. maybe that will factor in to the sox wanting him back.
  11. his 2003 season will go down in history as one of the greatest fluke seasons ever. his numbers were sick. awesome. the fact is he was pretty much lights out except for a small stretch near the end of the year. he will get the wins this year mostly due to run support but all of his "down and dirty" numbers :puke
  12. did he actually say that with a straight face? one year does not = same range as freddy garcia i hope he is not buying the hype with that undeserved all-star pick. if someone offers him 3yrs at 6per he should jump on it. although there is probably a team out there that will give him escobar numbers.
  13. it's a lot but the more money atlanta eats the better prospects atlanta gets, it's not my money so i'd rather keep the top prospects. maybe it's just wishful thinking but andruw is young enough that i think he could really turn around his career with a change of scenery. not that he is terrible now but i think he could put up numbers to make him worth that money here. if maggs is gone which seems pretty damn likely i don't know if you let him walk for a draft pick.
  14. honestly, if this team doesn't make the playoffs i want to see a lot of new faces next year. not re-build, re-tool. you have buerhle and garcia and garland for sure next year, add another solid # two, # three at the worst. pitching wins, not a lineup full of wanna be sluggers. it is either feast or famine with these guys and it's frustrating as hell cause you know that tomorrow they will score like 18 runs and then follow it up with 2.
  15. not only that but russ ortiz threw a gem tonite. his value keeps going up and maggs trade value goes down when he says he won't sign here. if atlanta thinks kw wants to deal maggs they can play hardball. if kw can get a. jones and ortiz for maggs and minor leaguers to free atlanta of jones's salary i say do it.
  16. add willie to the horrible swing group. you would think a leadoff hitter with speed would have a level swing, not some loopy hack. plus he can't hit an inside fastball to save his life yet he is right on top of the plate, just inviting the pitcher to throw it in there.
  17. "So, I was driving to work today, and I ran into Frank Thomas." i thought you took him out.
  18. they had to have talked to garcia about a long term deal. i can't see them giving up those two guys without a really good idea he will resign for what the sox are willing to pay. losing olivo was a huge shock. when i saw the trade at the bottom of espn i yelled out "OH MY GOD!" scared the crap out of my girlfriend in the other room. she came running in thinking there was a tornado coming or something. trying to look at the bright side of things olivo was our number nine hitter, our ace pitcher won't pitch to him and he still has a lot of trouble against right handers. i always enjoyed watching him play. *crosses fingers on estrada*
  19. the cubs announcers are saying the a's have scheduled a press conference.
  20. did you actually read the thread before you commented?
  21. he learned from the master of overworking your startes, jeff torborg.
  22. KW, go right now and get kevin millwood and kenny rogers, then put shoe in the pen, feel free to give up konerko, lee etc. to do this. white sox pitching right now :puke :headshake
  23. no, he knew it wasn't gone which is why he grabbed the ball and was motioning like crazy for someone in the infield to get to 2b.
  24. geez, i really thought they would lose every game the rest of the year, oh well.
